We were with the same vet for 17 years before moving to Plymouth almost 2 years ago. It was so stressful trying to find a new vet, we tried a Plymouth area vet for about a year and was extremely dissatisfied. I reached out to Livonia Facebook and was quickly referred to Dr. Whitaker and his staff at D'Adamo Vet. We are so happy to have found Dr. Whitaker, Dr. Schoenherr and their staff (Lisa and all). We had a very sick senior dog who was declining, and Dr. Whitaker took her under his wing and cared for her the best he could, and helped us prepare to say good bye. Dr. Whitaker (and his entire staff) are compassionate, caring, use good judgment, don't do unnecessary tests, and their pricing is very reasonable. The vets and staff here are loving, warm and thoughtful in every interaction I’ve had with them. Dr. Romelhardt is treating both of our cats, and has been such an amazing partner in our care for them. She always presents treatment options, offers suggestions, but ultimately lets the owner decide what is best for their family. Her willingness to take the time to understand the pet and the problem, to call back (even after hours), chose treatments based on your financial situation, and so on, make this an amazing vet clinic. Excellent, intelligent, caring staff😁😁😁 The veterinarians are empathic and confident providers of care! The entire experience was dynamic and communication was clear. I noticed that the doctors took a conservative approach and allowed me to make informed decisions about how to proceed with my dog's medical needs. I'm not sure how they price compare, but that doesn't matter when there isn't any pressure to provide excessive amount of unneeded treatment. This is the only place I take my pets for their regular care.  Yes, I have a regular doctor here (Dr. Schoenherr and she is great) but you are in good hands with any of the doctors (I have had to see them all once or twice when scheduling didn't work out with my regular vet).They truly care about your pet, and about you, and even though I have felt that for years (they remember your name, your pets name(s), etc) I found that most evident when I lost my first dog to cancer last fall and literally there are staff that still tear up to this day talking about him.  They sent me the most heartfelt, non-generic, card after he died sharing memories about him and offering personal condolences.  It truly meant so much.They are also available for you, which I appreciate... and whether that means for quick questions, last minute squeeze in appointments, special orders, referrals to specialists, etc, I have had to ask them for EVERYTHING at some point or another and they have been there for me and my pets every step of the way. No matter where I live and what I do I will always go here for my animal. There are truly the most loving people and care you you and your pet. They always know what they're talking about too, very knowledgable. I was very low on money when my kitty got very very sick, but they worked with me and that was all I could ask for. I got blood tests for my cat and they called me and told me everything the next day. Unfortunately, my kitty had to be put down weeks later because she was so sick and she was too far gone, but they were the best at giving me the information I needed. They always got me in immediately for her when I needed it. My favorite part is is that they're honest. And when I had to put her down, they were very supportive for me and showed love to me. They did everything they could to make everything less hard, especially for my cat. The day I had to go put her to sleep they made me a clay shaped heart that I could bake with her name and foot print in it without me even asking or thinking about it :) these people are the sweetest and treat you and your pet like family. I really love this office. I've seen dr. Hermann for the last 10 years for all of my animals so they had a pretty high standard to achieve for me. I know him and have worked for him but needed a vet closer to home. Every time I have called or gone into the office I have been met with wonderful smiles, caring faces and friendly voices. They never mind my kids being with me and asking a million questions or getting into stuff. The young female blond doctor is absolutely amazing with my dog. You can tell she genuinely loves animals. She always gets his trust before she does anything, so he will do anything for her! Lol she takes her time with you but is quick about her work, which I appreciate with my hectic life. My family and I have been taking our pets their for a while now and we absolutely love D'Adamo! Every vet and staff meme bet there is so inviting and makes us feel comfortable every time we are there. We just recently got 2 puppies and it makes us feel even better about taking the pups to D'Adamo when they are dragging me into the office. I've been to a vet where I have had a neutral experience, and I have also been to a vet with terrible experiences. I am happy to say I have finally found a veterinary office that I have fallen in love with! I adopted my dog when he was a few months old, and he is pretty anxious- especially in unfamiliar situations or around new people. D'Adamo has made everything SO easy for us and we no longer stress out about going to the vet. We are able to sneak in the side door and get right into an exam room which helps a ton with an anxious dog. The front desk staff is friendly, organized, and helpful.The techs as well as the vet (Dr. Romelhardt) are all super attentive and gentle even when doing unpleasant procedures. We have been going in for over 8 years. I had one cat that had a chronic condition for over a year and then eventually we had to put him to sleep. Throughout this process I met everyone of the vets there. When I make an appointment I am not concerned which vet I see, they all communicate very well with one another. They are very respectful of your opinion and also understand financial decisions about your furry loved ones are difficult. They are honest. When we put my one cat down to sleep the compassion and patience with everyone at the office was appreciated from the minute I walked in the door until I left. Highly recommended. Read Less
