My rescue dogs have been coming to this clinic for many years, and many times I was able to work them in the same day they were brought to my facility...even if I had to wait a few hours. Is he the cheapest vet around? No, but I don't look for cheap when a pet's life is on the line-I look for confidence and care. I have had 3 serious conditions arise during the summer with a 4 pound pomeranian that came in as a rescue dog, but we chose to keep as our girl. All were very dangerous, and touchy as to whether she'd pull out of it. Dr. Frye got the job done, and I left the little one there feeling confident that she'd pull thru. At first I was unsure of the doctor's personality, but I have come to know him and understand him. In fact, I tell my dog she is going to see her boyfriend bcuz she will allow him to draw blood, and anything else that is needed to benefit her health without hesitation and he is very watchful of her condition. I think when someone is good at what they do, and they are sure of themselves-they want to get the pet under care asap..and not bs around- and most people are just not used to things without a "sales pitch." I am getting ready to make "that" call that all pet parents dread the most..for our 27 year old cat, and it's killing me..but I know when I do, Dr. Frye will bring me thru it with kindness and concern. As you can imagine as with any pet- it is very horrible having to face this decision, and it is weighing heavily on my heart. They got me in on very short notice, on a Saturday, when they are only open til noon! Dr. Frye is just a "regular guy," who came out and sat with me at the end of the visit, and just "tells it like it is!" I will definitely return. I had great service the week I took my two cats in, and the bill was a little over $500. At the time, I was told that one of my male cats had a UTI ("Very unusual for a male"). The vet gave him a shot and instructed me to bring my cat back in two weeks for another urinary check ("free of charge, of course") and another shot. Upon my return I was informed that they had forgotten to charge me for something on my last visit, so I'd have to pay for it this time. Ok, I didn't love this idea, but I'd survive. Then, when my cat and I were taken into a room, the vet tech gave my cat his shot. When I asked about the doctor looking into my cat's unusual UTI, the vet said he never said he'd need to see my cat again. It was at that moment that I was reminded of the point during my last visit when I asked the vet tech if they had already cleaned my cat's bad ear. Dr. Frey said that they had forgotten to do that, and he had the tech go change my invoice...for a q-tip when I was already being charged over $500 for the visit. I chose this place simply because it was so close to my home. I couldn't be happier that I did! Everyone there was incredibly kind to my cat, KahlÃa and to me as well. I was given a detail of how much services would be and was able to choose what I could afford and was explained what was most important. We have been taking Bob ( our mini schnauzer) to Dr. Frye for three years. We switched from a vet in Saline, who was a hack. At that time Dr Frye, had to repair an open wound that the other vet caused. We are extremely satisfied with all the services we have received. Bob had pancreatitis last December and was feeling poorly. Max, one of the staff , spent time trying to hand feed Bob. This is way beyond the call of duty. This place sucks.  They are way to rough with my fear dog. But if you ask the  dr there is no such thing. I took my other dog here when she broke out in and rash and he threatened to turn me in for animal neglect when I was bringing her in like a good pet owner to see what was wrong. WILL NEVER GO BACK. My dog Issac was my best friend in the world as well as the best dog ever.Dr.Frye and staff all loved him.When he was diagnosed with cancerous tumors, I knew I was going to do for Issac as much as I could and as much as Dr. Frye recommended.Issac had a few surgeries, all went well.He survived a year.Dr . Frye and I discussed amputation of Issac's leg but my boy was young enough .We then discussed removing all the tumors in his leg to give him a clean slate as the tumors grew rapidly and this summer would be his last.Surgery was going very well , better than Dr. Frye expected.He removed 9 tumors, there was only one left .Unfortunately the last one was very large and entwined in blood vessels.It was at this moment Dr. Frye called me at work and told me the situation. He said Issac would most likely bleed out if he removed it and if not Issac's recovery would be long and painful. I decided the best thing for Issac was to let him go. I sit here crying as I write this, it has only been 2 months since I lost him.I raced from work to be with him for his last moments.Dr. Frye brought me into the OR and there was my boy still sedated and comfortable.I scooped his head into my arms and softly sang you are my sunshine into his ear. Issac flinched at my voice , even though he was sedated.This broke my heart an I think it broke Dr. Frye's too.His eyes were full of tears and he had to remove himself from the OR for a moment.It was at that moment I truly realized how much Dr. Frye loves animals.He really cared for Issac and it hurt Dr. Frye too. I now have a new puppy and Dr. Frye is the only vet I will have.My pup came from the Humane Society with various illnesses and contagions.Dr.Frye knew what to do and Deacon is healthy and happy and getting big. I rescued my cat from a horrible rescue two years ago and he has overcome a variety of illnesses.He was seen by different vet's for almost 2 years and none of them could get rid of the ear infection George the Cat had. Two years of e-coli in his ear.I took George to Dr. Frye , he looked at his previous treatments and test results and told me none of the treatments even had any medication in them , just ear washes and feel good stuff. Five weeks ago George the Cat was put on medication for his ears. I was told it will take a good while before it goes away. It is very hard to get rid of. Well he's going in for a follow-up this Saturday with Dr. Frye and Georges ears look GOOD . First time in two years that there is no gunk coming out , first time in two years George acts like he can hear , first time in two years George the Cat jumps in my lap as to say thank you and curls up and lies down. Thank you Dr. Frye and Stacy for if were not for the two of you and your strength on Issac's passing I would have never gotten through it.You are a blessing to all animals and humans who enter your world there at the Milan Area Animal Hospital. I have been taking my dog to Milan Area Animal Hospital for just short of twelve years. Dr. Frye and the staff have always been great with her. She has had several health issues over the years and she has always received the greatest care from them. I know that when I take her in she will be treated as if she is one of the family and Dr. Frye will and has done all he can to help her stay healthy and happy. I find Dr. Frye and his staff to be very personable and a caring group of people. My daughter also takes her two dogs to MAAH and has always had the same great experiences that I have always had. We would not recommened Dr. Frye to anyone! We took our dog in to get her tooth extracted, when she wouldn't let them give her a sedation shot so they put the shot on the end of a pole and jabbed her with it thru the cage. The 1st shot didn't work so they did it several more times. So, needless to say she was severly traumatized. I dont know what happened (went wrong) when Dr Frye extracted her tooth but he ended up having to pack bone graft into her jaw. our dog has never been the same since. She doesn't trust strangers anymore and it is sad because she was such a friendly, mild natured dog. Now that she doesnt trust people we can not trust her around people. He permanently damaged our dog. I dont even want to give a 1 star rating but I guess this review requires that you do. Read Less

Brandy has been under Dr. Frye's care for ten years now. His staff has always been friendly, knolageable, and profesional. Reasently our Brandy has developed diabetis and has been a little challenging getting under controll. I can't recommend Dr. Frye and his staff enough.  His exams are careful and he listens with undivided attention when you have questions, concerns or input, and clearly answers with care and consideration.  The whole staff is friendly and competent.  My dog went through a difficult illness, and every step of the way Dr. Frye and his staff showed their expertise and caring.  I first started taking my dog to Dr. Frye right after we got her on a recommendation, even though it meant driving from Ann Arbor to Milan.  It's been well worth it. This is a great place.  Everyone was friendly and very helpful. We were visiting relatives this summer in July when our dogs rash returned.  Dr. Fry was spot on with the medications. What a great Vet Clinic!! The staff is very understanding and helpful. The doctor there is a young doctor who seems to be very up to date with new medicines and technology. All of my questions were not only answered but an explanation was given with the answer, making me feel comfortable with what I am being told. I had a wonderful experience having my cat spayed and declawed using a laser. I felt that she was the most important animal in the clinic to them. I took her back for a follow up because I was concerned and they said any time I had a question regarding this surgery to bring her in. Binzee healed quickly. I have taken several pets, through the years, to Milan Area Animal Hospital. The Staff is genuinely friendly and love animals. My hairy family members have always been treated with love and can't wait to go back. My Great Dane loves all of the Staff; the ladies all get a hug and kiss, the Doctor gets BIG kisses.
