I can't thank you enough for getting my dog in so soon. She broke a toe nail this afternoon and it wouldn't stop bleeding. If I could give this place a 0 I would! I recently was given a dog from someone who brought their dog here since the dog was little. So I wanted to continue to go here. My first visit was a good experience. They were very nice and I had a good vibe ! I told them I was the new owner of the dog and had to get the info switched into my name and get the shot records for licensing. They had to call the prior owner to get authorization to do this. So they called and got the authorization. Everything was good so I thought. They gave me all the info for the dog including the chip information to get it switched. Then we were on our way. Now a month n a half later I get a call from the sheriffs office that the prior owner is saying I stole his dog and now he's trying to get him back by making me look like some criminal. I have multiple texts that are proof, a witness, and the vet that got the authorization the day I was there. As I'm already going threw a traumatic stressful experience with this crazy prior owner claiming I stole his dog I call the vet in complete tears and they are nothing but horribly rude to me on the phone. All I was calling for was to understand the whole authorization process and if they would back me on this. They said to me " well we don't kno if it was forsure him that we talked to on the phone. " hmmm well I don't know why they would be able to switch the information if they weren't sure of that. Later as I spoke with the cop again I found out the the prior owner had went to this vet and gotten all the paperwork including ALL OF MY PERSONAL INFORMATION with my ADDRESS on it also. He has made comments he is going to come to my house and take the dog from my back yard. Before he had no idea where i lived until .. thanks to grace animal hospital he now knows where I live. Don't trust these people. They seem very nice at first. I called them to ask them why they would do that and they couldn't give me an answer and they again were so rude and made me feel like a complete criminal when they don't even know the situation. I can't say enough good things about Grace Animal Hospital. Dr. Couvelaire, Dr. Hill and the whole staff are the best! I had to euthanize my 19 year old cat, the staff (I'm sorry I don't know their names) and Dr. Hill showed such compassion to my family and to our cat Sophia. Then a few days later we received a sympathy card from all of them. I have always been impressed by the care they have given to my dog and my cat but when it came to something so heartbreaking, to feel the compassion and sincerity from everyone means more than I will ever be able to express. My Mother took her kitten Benham in to see Dr.C for his first check up/butter in 2011. Dr.C was very kind and professional at the time. Our family believed we had a good relationship with her at the time. We were wrong. Bengamin became I'll one weekend in October of 2014. He was rushed to Animal Emergency in GR for an emergency procedure. Animal emergency wanted BenJamin to have a follow up appointment with his vet so we had animal emergency fax info to Dr C. She had his records and was is vet. When my mother contacted Dr.C's,ofive the office girl could not find his records. Dr.C heard the conversation between the office girl and my mother, came out of her office and told her that she had deleted Benjanin's records and that we should take him to another vet. She was very RUDD!!! We then contacted Animal Emregency and was told Benjamin had a common illness and could be treated by any vet. My mother is in her 70's and every time we drive past Dr C's clinic, she refers to them as the people who hate Benjamin. Without doubt the best vet around. I've been taking my two labs there since they opened. Dr Couvelaire is the most compassionate vet I've ever known. She treats my dogs like family. One of my labs has dealt with significant food allergy problems since I found her. Dr Couvelaire helped to get everything under control. This past Friday, she got very sick again and needed urgent attention. The office was closed on Saturday but I left a voicemail letting them know I was going to take her into urgent care. Within minutes Dr. Couvelaire called me back and let me bring her into the office. She determined Riley should stay at least one night. The next day Riley was ready to come home, and feeling much better. But the best part is that Dr Couvelaire didn't feel comfortable leaving Riley in the Kennel overnight since she was still sick - she actually took her home for the night to keep an eye on her. I have never felt like my dogs were in better hands. Dr Couvelaire and the staff at Grace Animal Clinic are amazing.Read Less

The vet was very sweet, the dogs were treated with love, and the prices are very reasonable - (best in town as far as I can see. I called four other vets before going with this one). Bringing my animals to this animal hospital was the worst decision of my life. I brought my cat in for a basic spay and declaw procedure that was very much mishandled. I had brought her in for her surgery, not only but a few hours later i receive a phone call saying that there had been an "anesthetic error", but that she would be fine they were just unable to proceed with the surgery. Dr. Couvelaire and her veterinary staff had 'forgotten' the oxygen when administering her anesthetic, which caused her skin to bubble. When I arrived to see her, she was not functional, or responsive in any way. Dr. Couvelaire acted very loose about the matter, and suggested that I take her to MSU during a hailstorm for further care, because she could not give her the care she needed at that point. When I demanded she drive her to MSU because I felt as if it were her responsibility, she abided. Upon arriving to MSU I never received a phone call of her whereabouts, or anything in regards to the situation. I had to research for myself and make several phone calls to get through to the vet that was responsible for my cat. finally, I discover because of all the pressure that had been forced unnaturally throughout her body, she had went blind, Luckily, after arriving home this was just temporary. Dr. Couvelaire and her entire stafff are very careless, negligent and undeserving of their titles. I would never recommend anyone take any of their beloved pets to this clinic, if you cannot even trust them to do a simple spay & declaw, which should be like breathing to any professional in this field. I was extremely disappointed, and If i wasn't able to convince her into paying for everything involving this incident, and the follow up spay & declaw by another vet then I would have sued her into the next century.Read Less

After going through an exhausting routine to find a Veterinarian and staff here that we were comfortable with when we moved was seeming like it was going to result in staying with a long trip to our former Vet in our former town until we took the kitties we rescued & adopted to Dr. Karen. Dr. Karen and her staff are wonderful! I have worked as a Veterinary Tech in the past when I was younger, and am very picky about who cares for my pets/rescues..... We will continue to go the Grace animal hospital faithfully as long as we live in the area! We drive from North Muskegon, and sometimes from our house up north to see her. Always worth the trip, and always a pleasure to know our animals are safe in her/her staff's hands when they are there.Whether it be a quick stop or a stay overnight as our Kitten needed for his paws.- I know they are in great hands.Thanks to a Wonderful Vet and staff.
