The Animal Emergency Center (AEC) provides full service emergency and critical care for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, small mammals / pocket pets, reptiles and other exotics. In fact, AEC is the only 24 hour emergency animal hospital in Southeastern Michigan with staff specifically trained and experienced in providing emergency care for exotic and avian species. Our facilities are also the only 24 hour emergency hospitals in the area that are AAHA certified.

Very expensive, and when they quoted me a price for further service and I declined they immediately started negotiating a lower price. 3 stars because I'm not sure how it wouldve gone with any other vet. The prices where WAY to high in my opinion especially to see my hamster. It was 94$ just to walk in the door. They tried taking a temperature and heart rate but came back and said it was too low and the only option was to put her down. I left sobbing with a dead pet and a $150 bill. I practically payed them to take one glance at her and kill her. If I would've know this was the outcome I would've let her go peacefully in her enclosure :( I have been here for my dog and they did a good job when he had hip problems, still pricey but I guess that's where the emergency part comes in :/ Read Less

Dr. Robertson did a great job explaining what the problem is and how to fix it. Our dog had an
Obstruction in her intestines. Dr. Robertson did surgery on her a few days ago. Coco is home recovering and feeling much better. Dr. Robertson also noticed that Coco’s spleen had several suspicious nodules on it and recommended having it removed during her obstruction surgery.
She saved Coco going through another future surgery. Thank you!!
The daily calls from the doctors really kept us informed.
The whole staff did a great job!!
I highly recommend going to AEC in Novi.

We are so grateful for AEC and their amazing staff. Sending a sincere thank you to Dr. Collins and her team who performed emergency abdominal surgery on our 15-month old pup Floyd to remove a large piece of shoe leather that caused a blockage. This is one of the scariest and most nerve-wracking experiences a pet owner may go through - you just don't know how bad the damage is. Dr. Collins was extremely kind, caring and informative throughout this process. She took the time to answer all of our questions before beginning surgery and called with an update as soon as she could. My last requested for my dog was taking out of the injection cap/catheter/needle and bandage out of her arm after she pass so she can run freely afterlife. She was in AEC overnight and then cremation place picked her up the next day afternoon. The assistant told me sometime they have to put the bandage on the animal after they inject the last solution to prevent bleed out. Here is the thing, my dog was in the cold storage overnight. When the time cremation pick her up, I don't think she was still bleeding. According to the assistant, they will remove all the cap/catheter/needles. Guess what?! nobody probably think I will come to the cremation place to say goodbye to her and found out she was left the exactly same as last time I saw her in the AEC. Lost a pet is very very hard, and it is even harder to see your pet was left alone like this with all the cap/catheter/needle and tight bandage still on her little arm. I had to ask the people here to help me to remove everything out of her arm.
