I experienced incredible passionate care for my pet, Scoots, and myself in assisting in the passing of my cat today. ALL of the staff were extremely compassionate in taking care of Scoots and in extending any further assistance I may need. This was way beyond what my expectations were and very much appreciated. I have had this site take care of at least four of my friends over the last 25+ years and would recommend them to anyone. Thank you all at Breckinridge/Meadowbrooks Vet Clinics!!!! If you have a difficult pet who doesn't do well at the vet, I do not recommend this location. If you are looking for a vet who has compassion and patience for difficult cases, I do not recommend this location. While I understand that pets must get "the gas" before a shot/exam if they are being difficult, I wish this vet would've been more reassuring and careful with my cat. When he was finished with her, he brought her back in the room, handed her to me in her carrier and simply said, "We're all set." I had to ask the questions: is she ok? How did it go? When will the gas wear off? When can she eat again? Then he says, "oh, by the way, she bit her tongue. It'll heal." If I could go back in time, I never would have brought my cat here. Read Less

The women at the front desk are catty and rude. We have been feeding our cat expensive Rx food for years and they hassled me about needing to "see" him- ie, expensive bill for them to tack on- before they would let us buy any more food for him (seriously, it's food..) So I sent my husband the next time and they (several folks behind the counter) never said a peep to him which leads me to believe they're just full of attitude towards women. No matter, they want to make things difficult so we happily spend our money elsewhere and interestingly, this other place happily accepts it too. Skip this vet. Edited to add: I see they chimed in with a response and by their own admission, admitted that in fact it *is* possible to sell Rx food to a cat despite not having a recent check up (I guess the register still works, funny that) They simply insist on forcing upon you MORE COST that is completely unnecessary. I stand by my assertion that the women could use a refresher course on quality customer service. Much left to be desired here. Read Less

Absolutely fantastic. I had called Meadowbrook when my 16-year-old dog was acting unusual. We all knew that my dog was nearing the end of his time with us, and I didn't want to subject him to extensive testing and prodding. The staff understood this, and without pressuring me, made arrangements for an appointment to make sure my pup was comfortable. Unfortunately, my dog decided that it was his time to go before we made it to the appointment. When I called, the staff was warm, compassionate, and helped me through the next steps. I've been to several veterinary clinics, and would immediately recommend Meadowbook Veterinary Clinic over all of the others in the area. Read Less

Not going there anymore! I've been here and their sister location- Breckenridge several times and I must say, not impressed, especially with their young vet. I usually go there for the routine vaccinations bc my dog goes to daycare and requires them but I've also been there at least twice for more serious health concerns with my dog and twice he has been absolutely wrong! The first time my dog was paralyzed for a day and night due to medication they gave him (which I found out it was a side effect online but they told me to keep giving it to him). I was crying and scared the whole time. Fortunately once the medicine wore off, he started getting better. The second time, good thing I got a second opinion by another vet because again it was incorrect diagnosis and treatment plan! Soooo done with this place! I found a new place to visit! The new vet was so friendly and explained every step so I knew exactly what was going on and understand the diagnosis and treatment. Read Less

Until a week ago, I thought this place was fantastic and been taking my pets there since they were home-visits only in 1976 before they had this office setup. However, last week they caused a spinal cord "flare up" in my dog, have charged me hundreds of dollars to do figure out what's wrong, sold me meds I can't give the dog until he starts eating again, and haven't yet accepted responsibility for hurting him in the first place even though clearly something happened during his all-day visit for a routine teeth cleaning. The dog walked in just fine, and has been unable to hold himself up and in extreme pain for almost a week, throughout most of which they claimed this was "normal" behavior. They've had a lot of personnel changes in the past year or two, and we've been seeing more and more little issues like clipping his toenails too short and the dog was starting to balk at going in there. This should've been a major red flag for me that something was up.Read Less

Very very very dissatisfied with my service I received at this place. My dog needed a simple 3 stitches in her ear after it had been slit from playing with a sharp-tooth puppy. I dropped her off on the morning and they said they would be done within 3 hours. I heard nothing after about 5 hours so I called and they told me that they tried to sew her ear without any sort of medication and "were shocked when she freaked out" and that they were going to give her medication to calm her down and try again. I called 2 hours later when I hadn't heard anything and they nonchalantly told me "oh yeah, she had a bad reaction to the medication and is having severe and repeated panic and crying attacks and while we had her on the table, she jumped off and now has major bruising on the insides of her legs." At that point, I became LIVID!! What good vet would let a dog jump off a table?? She could have broken a leg!! And they didn't even call me about it?!! Then, an hour later, they tell me she's finally ready and I pick her up and she's absolutely shaking in fear. I know the difference between fear and pain in a dog and she was in absolute fear. I pick her up and she's got blood all down her neck, absolutely saturated. They didn't send her with any pain medication or antibiotics. When I looked at her legs, it was clear that the bruises were NOT from "jumping off a counter", but from the rough grip of fingers and hands, as they were on the inside of her legs and were the shape and size of finger prints. When I confronted them about the bruising, they claimed "it happens when we have large breeds like her." She only weighs 40 pounds!! I honestly believe that, because she is a pit mix, they're completely discriminatory. My dog is the nicest dog that most people have ever met and I know without a doubt in my mind she did NOT deserve this horrible abuse. I should have pursued the case further, but after the scare and absolute Hell they put me and my dog through that day, I sobbed tears of relief just to have her alive and home. Not to mention, when her ear finally healed, I discovered that they completely botched the stitches and her ear now has a large hole/slit in it. It was a CLEAN straight slit when I brought her in and now, it looks like a small animal took a bite/chunk out of her ear. Bottom line: DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE!! These people are absolutely insane and I have never had a more negative experience in my life. Animals do not deserve to be treated as poorly as these people treated my girl. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!! Read Less

I have been a customer for about 17 years. The staff has taken wonderful care of our dogs. They care about them, and they call seem to be kind, compassionate professionals. Years ago one of our dogs was poisoned, and he was in the clinic's care for a week. They did blood transfusions (with one of the vets own dogs). They saved his life. Years later that same dog died suddenly. The staff went the extra mile and found he had a tumor on his heart -- saving us the agony of wondering what happened. I recommend the clinics highly. I just took our Wheaten Terrier to Meadowbrook and Breckenridge Veterinary Clinic (Dr. Gretchen Kronsbein, DVM) for an ear infection. We have gone to another good clinic since Marley was born but it was so far away (40 min. drive) that I wanted to try someplace closer that this clinic had been recommended. I was so impressed with Dr. Kronsbein - she spent so much time getting to know Marley on the floor - which is where she did the exam and treatment - so much more comfortable for an anxious animal! At our previous clinic, he urinated on the table every time we went out of fright! They also treat small mammals. I would highly recommend Dr. Kronsbein! Read Less

I've been taking my pets to Meadowbrook for 12 years.  They've been great with my rescue dog,  who had hookworm, heartworm and dental issues in the past year.  The staff know Elvis by name and even nicknamed him "Lake Elvis" for his tendency to pee as soon as he walks in the door.  They're really great about that - they never act annoyed or put out when he has an indoor accident and always clean it up with zero attitude.  Prices are pretty average for vet services.  Dr. Christlieb (the owner) is great.  He's very gentle and caring with my dog, as is everyone.  One time, one of the assistants helped pull my cat out from under the front seat of my car, where he wedged himself on the ride over (don't worry, kitty rides in a carrier now).  They even bandaged my wound when my cat went all Tasmanian Devil on us during a routine visit.  Good people.

I've been taking my pets to Meadowbrook and Breckenridge Clinics for almost 15 years.  Last year, I rescued a 3 week old kitten and they were wonderful with him.  He was very constipated, which is a dangerous thing for a tiny kitten, so they helped me help him poop.    This year, my husband adopted a puppy from the Humane Society, and they've been great with her, too.  It's clear that everyone who works there (not just the docs) loves animals. Kronsbein! Read Less

The doctors at Meadowbrook and Breckenridge Clinics are absolutely the best anywhere. Since my English Bulldog was a puppy they have been taking care of her. As most Bulldogs do, she has quite a few health issues and everyone has been addressed with care. I highly recommend these doctors to all my friends and would like to do so here as well.
