I have only great things to say about the vets and staff here at Novi Vet Clinic. I am grateful to have found them for my puppy. She loves them and that tells me alot of how they are with her. Very compassionate and understanding, clean, knowledgeable and patient. i recommend them to all my friends..it quite a ways for me to drive there, but its worth it to get the degree of excellence in veterinary care for my pup. Doctors & nurses are okay but the administration is not. This year, I’ve only had my puppy sick twice, and both times I couldn’t get any appointments (even though I called for an appointment within 3-4 days, and they were open). So, eventually, I ended up taking him to emergency clinic instead and spending a lot of money. The emergency room told me that he was very sick and still needed a follow up with them. Oh, good. More appointments. But they are very quick to get their money. Horrible place for getting any appointments when you actually need it! They’re good for shots and rutine stuff, which are weeks in advance but not to get appointments otherwise. The lady at the front desk told me that they’re super busy (same excuse every time). So, probably they taking on more clients than they can handle. Very disappointed! I’m looking for another vet in the area. Any suggestions? Read Less

This veterinary clinic has so much compassion for all of the animals that come through its doors. I know that when I come into the Novi Veterinary Clinic that my dogs will be safe and have the best care possible in Michigan. We also lost a cat at the Veterinary Clinic and it was a difficult expierence for us. We would not have made it through if it weren't for the compassion and sincerity of the Novi Veterinary Clinic doctors, nurses and staff. We don't live close to the Novi Veterinary Clinic, but we always take Khloe and Penny there because we know that we will get quality answers and compassionate care. Read Less

I just took my dog here last week.2.23.17. I wasn't a regular customer but my dog was in need to be seen ASAP. They were so kind to squeeze me in before the end of their day to see my dog (without my being a typical customer). They were kind, loving and genuinely cared about my dog. I appreciated the professionalism but also the loving hearts they had. I would recommend them to you. They care. And a lot of vets don't. They took the time to talk to me and explain my options fora caring for my dog. They asked every question possible to truly diagnose the dog correctly. It was a lovely experience. Read Less

Dr. Mehler was my veterinarian for many years, and he was, and still is, the best there is. Unfortunately, he relocated further away. I was heart broken to lose him. I tried two other vets, and there was absolutely no comparison. I finally tracked him down and the few extra miles are well worth it. He has an excellent table side manner. My pets just love him. He is very, very knowledgeable. He makes friends easily with the pets. He takes the time to explain things. The clinic is clean as a whistle, very calm and soothing. Good environment for the animals. The supporting staff is wonderful. I feel safe in knowing my pets are in very capable hands. If your are looking for the greatest vet there is, please contact Novi Veterinary Clinic. We have been going to Novi Vet Clinic for about 8 years now. They are the best vet around! The Dr.'s are absolutely wonderful with my dogs. My little one (a Brittany) is on the hyper side at 6 months old and both Dr. Mehler and Dr. Kellert are absolutely wonderful with her. They can calm her down within seconds. They truly are magnificent at what they do and I highly recommend them to any pet owner. They take the time to talk with you about any condition your pet is ailing from or about any procedure that needs to be done and they do it in simple english that we can understand. We live about 45 minutes away from their office and it truly is worth the drive! If you want the best care for your furry loved ones, this is the place to bring them to! Read Less

I took my dog there (without an appointment) to get looked and as soon as I walked in it was awkward. 4 employees looking at me like I was lost. After 10 seconds of silence a lady asked, "how can I help you?". I told her what was going on with my dog (which it ended up being pointless to answer her). The next words out of her mouth wasn't about my dog (which that's why I was there), instead she asked if I was a current client. I said no. Then she said they "usually" just see animals by appointment only and the next apt was later in the day. I simply said thank you and left. Yeah, I could've made it later in the day but it wasn't friendly from the moment I walked in. On top of that, there wasn't one animal there (besides the cat that roams freely) being looked at by any of the vets or technicians. All I wanted was the attention on my dog not me. Read Less

I was thrilled to have found out my vet from 25 years ago ; was at my pet hospital where I had just brought my new cat. They were so gentle and kind, I was worry about him because he's 12 . Very clean office, friendly and attentive staff, easy to get an appointment scheduled, extremely low wait time....very fast. The doctor was kind and gentle with our dogs, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I was probably most impressed with how well they knew the family's pets that recommended them to us. Never missed a beat when discussing their dogs too....that told me they really do know and love their furry clients. I highly recommend this office! Read Less

I think Dr. Mehler is one of the best veterinarians in Michigan.  In addition, he has a great "bedside" manner and my dog just loves him.   However, because of the office hours and need for an appointment,I have occasionally had to take my dog to another veterinary clinic that has longer hours and more staff.  If not for that, I would give Dr. Mehler a five-star rating. Not sure how they have received great reviews! While I think the doctors do an okay job I have not be impressed with anything. Every time I have taken my dog or cats here, it has been a very quick appointment and I spend less than 10 minutes with the actual vet. I recently took my dog to another vet and received the care I had been hoping for. It was very eye opening to see how another vet went above and beyond what Novi Veterinary did. The other vet was so thorough and kind. And about 1/2 the cost!!!!! I did not realize how much I was being overcharged and nickel and dimed for every little service. Also the rest of the staff is so caddy and unwelcoming. The ladies that work at the front desk act like you are totally disrupting their day when you walk in for your scheduled appointment. They don't explain anything and when you ask a question look at you like you are stupid! I I have several college degrees but when I asked a question about medication or treatment option they talked to me like I was a child.   I am not the only person that has experienced this. I never leave negative reviews but I recently called to ask a question and make an appointment. And was basically scolded on the phone for asking a question and when I asked to make an appointment was told how busy they were (with many sighs and grumbles in between).  I told them I would take my business else where because it was such an inconvenience that I had called to make an appointment. After the vet that I have been with for years decided to change management and service and care went down the drain. I promised myself I wouldn't take my 2 beagles back there again. At the recommendation of a friend when I noticed my beagle had been scratching her hair off raw underneath her air. I immediately called and made an appt for 2 days later (their first available). The office called me the next morning to let me know they had a recent cancellation and got me in immediately.... The staff was very caring and attentive. Dr. Kellert went above and beyond to clean up the area and inform me of what was happening. They didn't overcharge for services that were unnecessary, and told me to let them know if more drastic measures were needed from our current treatment plan. I have no problem driving from Royal Oak to Novi to receive the care I received from Dr. Kellert and her staff. Kudos to them! Read Less

I took my 10 week old puppy in to get her first round of shots. While there she was thoroughly checked-out. My dog LOVED them and all of the staff treated us with open arms.
