He has seen our 10 year old dog throughout her life, she recently got a uterine infection and he BARELY explained what was going on with her to me and my mom. He didn't reassure us that her symptoms were normal, that the symptoms that he had during her antibiotic treatment was normal. When something is wrong with my dog I want an explanation that helps me understand whats going on, just like when I go to my regular doctor, she tells me whats going on and makes sure I understand. The same should apply for a vet. As a result of him barely explaining what was going on with her my mother ended up calling several times with questions that we both had. He apparently didn't like this high call volume from us, which I think is rude. If we have questions and are worried about the symptoms that develop when we aren't in the office, they should be more than happy to answer and help us feel better. (I do admit some calls could of been cut out but that's due to my mother.) Additionally, our dog wasn't eating ANY type of food all he could suggest was "wet food", I had to resort to google to find a way to feed her before surgery. Which the receptionist so NICELY commented on that I shouldn't refer to "Dr.Google" but if I didn't she wouldn't have eaten for 5 days straight and I would of never understood what was happening to her to better take care of her. He also gave us an incorrect amount of antibiotics and if I hadn't noticed when I did she wouldn't have had enough to her original surgery date, which he rescheduled for us. When I get a pet of my own I will definitely not be coming to him, I want to go to an office that cares, helps you understand whats going on with your pet and doesn't find it a BURDEN to answer questions.

Dr. Alderman is a very honest vet with a great front staff. Prices are reasonable, and he seems to really care about both the animals and your bank account. I highly recommend him!

This man is HORRIBLE! Extreamly rude, and not a very good vet at all! My mom brought her puppy to him and by the time it was time for her second round of vaccines the pup wasn't wanting to eat food or drink water my mom had recommended he do X-rays he said it wasn't necessary and wasn't doing blood work either Alferman said that she had a food allergy after accusing her of trying to starve the dog to death in from of a waiting room of patients and owner.
My mom loves this dog she wasn't trying to starve her she had food down all the time and the dog didn't want to eat or drink. She is babied they are in love with this pup!
Because this incompetent vet said it was a food allergy and refused to do a X-ray or blood work the following day later my mom rushed her pup into the emergency vet for 8 hours on a Weekend night and was there until 2 am! They did a X-ray and the pups intestine had went into another and needed surgery.
If alderman would have done an X-ray or some blood work the pup may have a better chance. The pup underwent the most dangerous surgery even a human could undergo and still is not in the clear. She has no protein in her urine and could have kidney issues. She is currently at a new vet that is amazing and we will be telling EVERYONE about his negligence!

I've been taking my pets to Alderman Animal Hospital for the past 20 years. I know many people that use his services and I wouldn't take the other review too seriously, as I've never experienced any issues with the staff at any point. Dr. Alderman is a exceptional old school vet. He keeps his overhead low cost and might not have all the high tech gadgets some vets have these days but you cannot beat the QUALITY of care he provides at such a low cost. He truly cares about the animals and I would not trust ANY other vet with mine. I've taken my dog to the ER a couple of times when his office was closed and I was never happy with the care or service and only trust Dr Alderman. The one issue with yelp is like the previous reviewer just got mad and leaves a 1....such bullshit.

He has seen our 10 year old dog throughout her life, she recently got a uterine infection and he BARELY explained what was going on with her to me and my mom. He didn't reassure us that her symptoms were normal, that the symptoms that he had during her antibiotic treatment was normal. This man is HORRIBLE! Extreamly rude, and not a very good vet at all! I've been taking my pets to Alderman Animal Hospital for the past 20 years. I know many people that use his services and I wouldn't take the other review too seriously, as I've never experienced any issues with the staff at any point.
