Rottweiler had open wound get infected badly. They got me right in and scheduled surgery the next morning. Very reasonable fees and I didn't need to sell my first born to pay for his surgery. The vet visit was $39 and surgery was $300 for everything including RX'S and wound cleaning supplies. Very clean office, didn't have to wait to be seen. Read Less

I like him. He is an 'old time' vet that doesn't pull any punches. I prefer a vet that can offer a reasonable diagnosis without a bunch of expensive testing and tell me he's pretty sure (at times positive) it is 'x', but if 'y' doesn't resolve the issue we will have to run tests. He has saved me a lot of money, and currently working with me to restore the health of a pup that I got from a very bad breeder. He spends a lot of time going over everything in the dog's life to narrow the problem down, and I find it very helpful that when I bring in a list of concerns that he takes that list and makes notes on it for me to take home. Normally I do not leave reviews, though for him I felt that I needed to. Someone in town referred me to him 'with caution' and then someone else gave an odd look when I mentioned going there. I don't know why this is, other than maybe some people don't like doctor that is blunt and relies on his experience for diagnosis. He always offers the testing, but with his experience and knowledge, I don't think testing is always necessary. I took my previous dog to MSU and asked them to check to see if her cancer had returned (prior to meeting Dr. Kiomento). My instructions were to x-ray, then ultrasound, then the other tests but to stop if they found anything and not to proceed with further testing. They didn't. When I returned to get the dog they ran every test they could think of, producing a bill in excess of $900, when the x-ray ($75) showed the cancer was everywhere. For me, I do not appreciate this type of practice. The dog died three weeks later. All in all, I continue to use Perry Animal Clinic and will recommend him to anyone looking for a vet. Read Less

Betty - October 27, 2011 We think Dr. Kiomento is the best in the area. We have been taking our animals to him for 21 years. He saved the life of our foundling, starving, heart-wormy beagle and she lived to be 14. Dr. Kiomento keeps up to date on the newest treatments and medicines and works well with the MSU Vet Clinic. He is good about presenting all options for treatment, not just the most expensive. The clinic is clean, well run and all of the staff members are competent, polite and have a love of animals. Their requirement that one be in control of one's pet is fair and reasonable and could be the reason for the bad review. Read Less
