I don't like leaving bad reviews, but the receptionist was incredibly rude and patronizing. I moved recently and I was looking for a vet to go my dogs dental cleaning. I was calling around to find pricing. I called other places and the would break down the price ($100 anesthesia, $50 for extraction, $40 bloodwork,etc...) .. I called them, the lady was so so rude, she was it starts at $600, I asked her to break down the cost and I told her how other places had broken it down for me . She is was like " Its not that cheap, if you want a breakdown you have to make an appointment with the vet."... Very patronizing. I don't want to see the vet if that is the attitude of the receptionist. By the way I understand that dental cleanings can vary, but I have never paid more than $200 for dental cleaning so starting out at $600 is ridiculous. Read Less

Everyone at AMC Troy is just so wonderful and nice. I take all three of my dogs there and I ALWAYS feel like they are in good hands. I took my male Pug, Hooch, in to get him neutered and when I came to pick him up in the afternoon, the technicians were around him singing to him to make him feel relaxed as he came out of the anesthesia. It was the most wonderful and adorable thing. They’ve done similar things for my other two and just take exceptional care of my babies when they are there. They are also so nice over the phone and Lord knows I call them a lot just to ask questions about what to do next for the pups. I recommend them to anyone looking for a good veterinarian. Dr. Tallis is wonderful. Actually, they are all wonderful, but I have worked with Dr. Tallis the most. She has a very welcoming personality and is so nice and helpful. She explains things well and my dogs all like her. The prices do seem high sometimes, but they are competitive for the area. Plus the service you get is well worth it. I highly, highly recommend. My dog chewed one of his toys and swallowed some of it. I was worried and I wanted the vet to see him. I called on Saturday (03-03-18) two hours before closing. The receptionist said " I'm sorry but we're booked solid today. The earliest I can get you in, is Tuesday. If he becomes lethargic or starts to vomit take him to emergency." The website says differently about emergencies/urgent care. I guess this receptionist didn't get the memo. I like the vet but that receptionist should be fired! Read Less

Dr. Saxton is awesome!! She took amazing care of my 2 new kittens and was very informative, and respectful.. she allowed us to make our own decisions regarding what type of care we wanted and in no way pushed us to do anything in order to spend more money.. All in all I feel very comfortable continuing Veterinarian Care with Dr. Saxton for my new kittens. Additionally, I scheduled well checkup for my 11 year old Shih Tzu! High quality vet giving high quality care. Absent was the overwhelming scent of pets - I don't know how they did it, because every vet I've been to smells like a wet dog, but this one was different, and I appreciated that. Much more importantly, they give good care to the dog, and I really like their fee structure for visits. You pay slightly more for an office visit, but it comes with one follow up visit within 30 days. Read Less

I took my first dog to Dr. Tallis a few years ago and I loved her! She was very thorough and finally figured out what was wrong with my dog after taking her to the humane society of Rochester hills 3 times. She's very kind and obviously loves animals.I recently took my second puppy there and saw Dr Saxton for his tummy troubles. She was also very thorough and knowledgeable! She went the extra step to print off articles about dog food for me to read as well! They are both great vets and seem passionate about what they do, I'd take my dogs there again! Read Less

Dr. Saxton is great. Her gentle manner and expertise while she examined our newly rescued, 12 year old dog helped to calm both of us. All tests and costs were descussed. We have 3 dogs. All of them go to Dr. Theodoroff. Staff is always courteous and professional. Dr. T really knows his stuff. He takes the time to explain what is going on with your pets health and even provides nice printouts detailing the care given and any ailments the dogs have. Very good bedside manner with the animals as well. Highly recommend this clinic.Read Less

This was our first visit with our newly adopted kitten. The reception staff was very welcoming and the office was clean with no noticeable odors. Dr. Tallis was professional, kind, and detailed in her examination. The only reason I took away one star was because I had to wait 20 minutes before I saw the doctor, and even that is not an extraordinarily bad wait time. Read Less

My family has been going here 28+ years (I've only been alive for 26 of those) and we've come to expect service at this level. I will give you a nice big warning: Animal Medical Center can be VERY expensive. But the service you receive is genuine care from real professionals. From the receptionist, to the vet techs, to the actual doctors themselves. EVERYONE is absolutely professional, shows genuine care for your animals (there is a running joke about how unphotogenic our cat is) and will make you feel guilty if you aren't doing your absolute best to make their life great. We've had many services from them, from dental cleanings/surgery (cat has only one tooth now, but he's so much happier), growth removal, hip x-rays, you name it.  If they can't take care of it, they will find someone just as professional for you.If you have the money, you cannot get better care for your pet.
