I would highly suggest taking your kitties to Cat Care! I just moved in the area and my kitty got sick and I had no idea of what it was and how it came about. I did my research on vets near me and I found a few vets around but Cat Care spoke to me because they had a 5 Star review with amazing stories of their clients visits, and they specialize in cats. When I went to the vet I was scared to find out what the prognosis was, and everyone who worked their saw my concern. But the receptionist, vet technicians, and the vet herself gave me more information that I came in there for (which was amazing because I didn’t know a lot about cat health to begin with) and they talked and treated my cat as if it were their own. Everyone was very gentle, calming, friendly, and knowledgeable. My cat is terrified of the vet and they treated him calmly and were very patient. They also offer a drug that calms the cat down so your cat won’t be scared to death, which is super cool of them! They focus on your cats wellbeing and always want to make sure your family member is comfortable. Thanks to Cat Care I know more of what my cat needs and they got rid of his upper respiratory infection! I have never recommended a vet before because I haven’t found THE VET to go to, and now I have! Thank you Cat Care for fixing up my baby boy and getting him back to his normal self! Tux is going on 14 now, he does everything a cat should not do, he is out all night, gets in fights, eats strange critters, sleeps on the cold ground, rolls in the dirt, bits everyone but me, and generally a wild animal. While he has many scars and his aging arthritis, he is in perfect health. His teeth are gleaming white, his blood is pure and without problems, he has all the special vaccinations an out side cat should have and his weight is perfect. I have been taking my cats to Cat Care PC for well over ten years. Drs. Frank and Thoms are excellent practitioners and really listen to what the "cat-parent" has to say. They are very current on new treatments available for cats. Answers to questions are easily understood. I like how they often confer with each other on "difficult" cases. They truly seem to love cats! Currently, Dr Frank is my cat's primary vet. She clearly explains pros and cons of treatment. She does not push her own agenda in determining care and is respectful of my decisions. This is very important to me. When I had to have a cat put to sleep, it was done in a dignified and caring manner. I even received a sympathy card, from all the staff. I love the Cat Care. I have been going there for over 13 years. The doctors there are so helpful and knowledgeable and professional and understanding. The staff there is extremely helpful, considerate, interested and helpful. I highly recommend this veterinary service. I especially like them because they only see cats. It has been so much easier on my cats whether I'm taking them for a well visit or for not feeling good they don't have to be stressed out listening to dogs bark or be around other animals. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Cat Care. I switched vets after an E Vet visit because my old vet was just very far away and this was much closer to home. After 10 years, my cat just started having urinary blockages. It was so scary for me and everyone here was just so caring and thorough. Our second visit was last minute when I got home and realized he was starting to block. Gabrielle told me just to come in. We were there past close and not once did I feel pressured or like he wasn't being taken care of well because it was late. Dr. Thoms was thoughtful about the tests he ran and didn't just do everything he could without thought to cost. But the best part? After that visit I have gotten at least weekly calls, twice from the Doctor and once from the staff. They have been responsive to my calls and I have spent probably almost an hour all together on the phone directly with Dr. Thoms checking in on the progress of my guy and supporting me. When all was said and done, we talked together about the next step and he was supportive and not shaming or pushy when I decided it would stress my cat out too much to bring him in for follow up and that I would prefer to just watch him closely and bring him in if anything goes awry. That is not a money hungry business... that is a caring vet who really wants what's best for my cat. I'm completely pleased with our switch and am so glad that this is where I will be taking my cat. I just switched my cat to Cat Care because it is so much closer to home. At ten years old he started having urinary blockages which was terrifying for me. I had to go first to an e vet but them brought him here. We've been twice now. The second time we went he was starting to block. They let us just come in right before close and we were there pst closing but no one rushed it and they were very thoughtful about his care and my emotional state. They took such amazing care of him and were so reasonable about what they did and did not do. I actually asked for an additional test they didn't initially run because he wasn't sure if it was needed. Since that visit I have gotten multiple phone calls from Dr Thoms checking in on him  on the week the dr didn't call, the tech called. And Dr. Thoms has spent probably a solid hour talking to me since our visit. At our last call we talked about pros and cons of bringing my guy in for a follow up because the trip stresses him out so much. I felt supported and not belittled when I stated I wanted to watch him and not subject him to the trip unless we had to. They aren't cheap but not many vets are and the personal attention, care and concern I got is worth every cent. I honestly can't say enough. This is a very tough time for me and to have this kind of understanding and support with my little man has been wonderful. I'm so glad I switched! Read Less

My cat had to get his toe amputated because of a tumor. I first took my cat to Donaldson Animal Hospital. I wasted time, a lot of money there and had such a bad experience. My cat was very well taken care of here and Dr. Tom did a great job amputating my cat's toe. I have to say that you will definitely pay a lot here (very expensive) but service is good and won't get the run around. Make sure to decline extra things because all vets like to suggest testing that is so unnecessary. I was so happy I declined so many things. I don't think the vets think about the money to pet The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because I was really over charged for a medication called Neo Predef which I didn't need. I was a little shocked that they just didn't give me this medication for free since the skin irritation was cause by them. Read Less

I can't even begin to describe how wonderful I think the doctors and staff are at Cat Care. I take my own kitties to Cat Care as well as the many kitties who pass through the cat rescue I founded many years ago and who now are part of our retirement community. The level of expertise is excellent and the compassion and care that the staff shows to both their clients and each individual purr kid goes far and beyond a typical veterinary hospital. I was referred to this place by a friend so i thought i would stray from my regular vets and i will never do it again -  I had really high hopes for this place and could not have been more disappointed. They basically told me i needed to put my cat down because he had a cyst. They also wen't on telling me that he would have to undergo reconstructive surgery and the cyst was more then likely cancerous and go through months of radiation - but never once even did a biopsy, they just ASSUMED! The Dr was giving me numbers for a specialist at U of M or Michigan State and it would cost thousands of dollars and it wouldn't be worth it since my cat was already 15. Then she said she had never seen anything like this in all of her years of being an animal Dr. I personally find this interesting considering the fact that my vet that I've gone to since he was a kitten has already seen it and removed it twice before. Needless to say i did return to my normal vet and he removed it for $200 and my cat is happy and healthy  - as far as i'm concerned this place is a joke and i will never take my cats there again. I've been taking my two cats here for almost a year now, for 'regular' visits as well as following up on a couple illnesses. I've been to four different veterinary clinics in the eight years I've had my cats, and this by far has been the best of all of them. The vets are exceptionally thorough and personable, and the vet techs are always kind, attentive, and very knowledgeable. The two particular vets we've seen here are Dr. Sloan and Dr. Thoms, both of whom I would enthusiastically recommend. On average I pay a little more here for cat care than I have at other vet clinics, but I feel the prices are still reasonable PLUS I think a little extra money is worth it, because it is so much less stressful to my kitties to bring them to a cat-only clinic, where they don't have to deal with the chaos (barking dogs, etc) of general clinics. What a great find Cat Care was for me when I first moved to Auburn Hills.  They have been fantastic with all three of my cats.  One of my cats was an adult rescue and had some health issues in the years she was with me.  The employees from front desk to doc were so caring and got my nervous and uncomfortable kitty to relax so they could help her.  My other two cats have always been healthy and Cat Care has helped them stay that way, always with a smile and a kind word for the patient.  I am unable to trim my cats' claws on my own so Cat Care also takes care of that for me.  They sell these fabric bags with catnip that my kitties adore, so I always buy a few on my way out the door.  I'm moving from the area and will miss the compassion and quality medical care that I found at Cat Care. We truly feel that since we have been taking them there, that they have received the best care possible.
