I have been taking my animals to Tim for over 20 years. When my lab passed at home at the age of 14, my friend took her to Tim to have him care for her one last time. He was so impressed with the compassion and gentleness with which he showed to my Dusty, even though she was no longer with us. Most recently, my youngest Mina's life was literally saved by Tim, when no one else could figure out what was wrong with her, he did. She ran a fever for 2 weeks straight! Emergency vet, xrays, ultrasounds, bloodwork found nothing. He deduced what it could be, a type of immune-mediated anemia, and gave me my little girl back. I will always take my babies to him! I have been going to McLaughlin Animal Hospital for many years now. Dr. McLaughlin deserved a top-rated review from me long ago. I have many examples to offer which would exhibit the fact that he does what he does because he truly cares for the animals ... He absolutely is not focused on profit, and it is plainly evident to me many times over. This is the kind of person you want to oversee the health of your pets; someone who is most concerned about the well-being of the animals. I do owe him a debt of gratitude since he has taken care of several of my pets and done a very fine job. He is an exceptionally caring person. He was originally recommended to me by the owner of a large and successful rescue who was in the business for many years (and still is), and she recommended him highly then and still does. In fact, he is the only person she recommends at all -- period. She took all of her own pets to him, as well as recommending him to everyone she came into contact with. After all, the opinion of a person in the industry is extremely pertinent (i.e., a person who has made animals their life's work; they get to know who is the best and their reputation is important to them; therefore, they will not recommend just anyone). My cousin also runs a well-known rescue in the area, and trust me that it is difficult to find a vet who makes a true and honest effort to provide affordable services with that personal touch. I have heard many stories and am thankful I have a vet I can trust. I just want to thank Dr. McLaughlin for all he has done, and for making superb veterinary services accessible for my family. Went here few years back, for a while , than moved out to clarkston. They are well worth the drive back to there. Other vets try scamming and scaring you into un-needed tests, not here, very honest and caring. Read Less

Dr. McLaughlin is an honest vet, and fairly priced.  He is not an alarmist.   His office staff is great.  You will never wait in the office with another dog.  I would highly recommend him for routine appointments only, such as a yearly exam.  I took my seven year old lethargic Golden Doodle to him for evaluation.  He did blood work and said said his white blood count was high, and prescribed antibiotics.  My dog actually had a spleen tumor, that ruptured.  - which I have since found out, occurs often with Goldens.  Had I taken my dog to the ER vet initially, it may have saved his life. Dr McLaughlin is very helpful and his office staff is very friendly and capable. The facilities are clean. He does not overcharge and there is never a wait. He did refer us to another vet when my dog needed further diagnostics though and would not make an appointment to put that pet down for 3 days. Also, he misdiagnosed a case of lice on my dog as allergies for 3 months. I needed to discover the root cause of the itching and hair loss myself although I had brought her in multiple times. So, I recommend for routine work, but not necessarily if you have problems with your pet. Read Less

I'm getting a puppy next week, and I for sure will return to McLaughlin Animal Hospital. I switched to Mclaughlin for my Labrador Retriever, Nick, when he was an older geriatric dog. How I wish I had started with this vet. The office was so kind to me and, while I knew Nick didn't have much longer, they assured me that I would know when it was the right decision to put him down. Dr. McLaughlin is a knowledgeable, caring, efficient vet who does not overcharge. He is willing to discuss many options for your pet's health and my pet is always happy to go there, even for nail clipping, which is a great deal there as well. I really like taking my dog here.  Dr McLaughlin is knowledgeable and reasonable.  I have a german shepherd who has obvious hip dysplasia and he's been very reasonable about it.  He said there's no point in me paying for expensive x rays to verify the fact that she has it, because she is too old to have corrective surgery and the most we can do is make sure she doesn't have any pain from it.  Fortunately I haven't had any emergencies or any big problems I've had to take her for, so I can't comment on that service.  We just go there for our yearly shots and exam.The office itself is nothing fancy, so don't be put off by it.  I think it helps them to keep their prices down, because their prices are very reasonable.I have other friends who go there who are equally pleased. Dr. McLaughlin is great.  You can tell he really likes animals and their people too.  He was the Veterinarian for my four dogs and two cats for over a decade.  One of my young dogs had an accident on a weekend, the local Vet I took him to said he was fine, but I called Dr. Mclaughlin who had me bring him in.  It turned out he had a major complicated break in his leg.  Dr. McLaughlin discussed treatment options with me and when I opted to go for surgery, he gave me a referral to an Orthopedic Specialist.  Unfortunately, I moved a couple of hours away and it was a bit much for my elderly dog and I to drive.  I had a lot of confidence in Dr. McLaughlin.  He was easy to talk to, explained things in easy to understand terms, genuinely liked animals, and was reasonably priced.
