I'm so disappointed with the receptionist and staff at North Hills. All 5 of my dogs have been patients there for 2.5 years. I have had no complaints and have been pleased with the treatment provided. Today when I needed them the most they were not there for me and it demonstrated that my pets only have a monetary value to them. I called them at 5:15 pm (open to 6pm) when I got home from work and noticed one of my dogs had a small puncture wound under his neck and was slightly bleeding. I live only 5 minutes away and hoped the vet could accommodate me and see my dog. I was immediately referred to the emergency vet by the receptionist without even inquiring to see if they could squeeze me in. Her coldness and lack of concern is not something I can ignore and I will move on to another vet. I gave a rating of 3 instead of 1 because other interactions with them had been positive. Read Less

Have started coming here with new puppy so visiting every 3 to 4 weeks. Have always see vet within minutes of my appointment time. Answered all questions and great information as to new products that are out there without pushing anything. And prices are comparable to other vets I have taken our older dog to. I like that it is only 15 min from the house versus the 35 I had been driving. Read Less

North Hills is a wonderful place. The Doctors are very personable and professional and the support staff is always cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful. I feel like they treat my two dogs as if they were their own. Dr. Tenenzapf did a surgery on one of my dogs and he was fabulous! He really took the time to explain everything and keep me calm and my dog is doing great! My dogs usually see Dr. Smith. My Puggle has allergies and Dr. Smith really helped in guiding me with a course of treatment that I felt comfortable with. More than anything, this clinic offers a personalized touch. Whether it's for just routine check-ups, or for more serious issues, I feel like this is the best place. I trust North Hills with my fur kids and I highly would recommend them! Read Less

Dr Frank Carmona is the most caring & compassionate veterinary dr we have ever met! He truly treats our pets as if they were his own. I trust his opinion 200%. Where do I start? We have been bringing our pets to North Hills for about 30 years. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable, caring, professional and they go above and beyond to make sure our pets get the best care. the office is small but so comfortable and clean. Dr. Carmona is an amazing Dr. He listens, has patience and genuinely cares about each pet that we bring in. He goes the extra mile and we are forever grateful for that. They have always been so sweet to our little Leia and when we had a health scare of sorts made sure that we knew she was well taken care of by texting us an update and photo. Dr. Carmona is the best veterinarian I have ever had. He cares about my dog as if he's his own child, and he provides excellent advice on training. When my dog recently was very sick (walnut lodged in intestines), Dr. Carmona examined him, sent us home, and within 30 minutes, our dog luckily was cured, and we received a follow-up phone call the next day. Dr. Carmona and the staff of North Hills have been caring for all the ferrets from the Motor City Ferrets Shelter for several years now. I have no idea what we'd do without Dr. Carmona, he's simply terrific. And the practice is delightful to work with as well. No overbooking, I can't remember the last time I had to wait even a few minutes for a scheduled appointment, the staff are always accommodating to shuttle messages between Dr. and client accurately...and in those times of need, which we've had several of over the years, the staff always goes out of their way to get us in the same day when we have a very sick critter who needs important care, or to have his/her final visit. We always feel we are in good hands at North Hills and we recommend the clinic and Dr. Carmona time and again to our ferret clients - and I can tell you that I've never heard anything but the most positive comments from clients that I have referred as well. Wherever you live and especially if you have ferrets (so difficult to find a well experienced ferret vet), it's absolutely worth your time to take your critters to North Hills.
