The vets there are amazing but do not go to the groomers. Went there for about 8 years. Have a Bishion Frise who is about 11 years old. Called them and they said that they couldnt groom her because they need 2 people to hold her down because the dog is aggressive in it's old age. Called later to ask again because of decent service over 8 years, they said one person could groom her if she was SEDATED and that she needed the proper bloodwork to do so. ?????????. Dr. Doug and the other veterinarians and staff are amazing. He is so knowledgeable, compassionate and takes the time needed to fully address the difficult situations. Dr. Catalina saved two of my guinea pigs on two separate occasions from aliments that would have killed them within days. They may be a small town Vet....but I would drive a hundred miles to see them again. Prices are fair, almost cheap. But the care is top notch. Dr. Molly likely saved my dogs life. I brought my dog in following a fight with another dog.  The vet examined my dog and sent him home with an antibiotic and eye cream for a bite wound above his eye.  Later that evening, I noticed fluid oozing out of two large puncture wounds on his throat.  I called Goodison Veterinary and was told to bring the dog back in to have a technician shave his throat or to just shave it myself.  During the initial examination, I had informed the vet that there must be puncture wounds on my dogs throat because they had been bleeding immediately after the fight.   I am disappointed in the level of care my dog received.  I think the vet passed over my dog's injuries too quickly.  My dog's throat should have been shaved and the bite wounds examined in the initial office visit. For the most part, Goodison vet has good Dr's. Patched up many of my cats over the years. Beware of the pricing. Cat need dental work - 1/2 his teeth removed. $500+ there. Had it done elsewhere for $200. Same cat needed to be put down 2 years later in 2013. Called for a quote and they had the best price for "procedure and cremation". Price more than doubled when it came time to pay. Receptionist forgot to include several charges like disposal. Came real close to walking out with my dead 10lb. cat to save $100.Read Less

This is a place which loves your money more so than your pet or your personal love and concern for your pets well being. I understand this is a business however our most recent experience with this facility has left our family looking for a new veterinary clinic so please be extremely cautious if you plan on continuing to take your pet here or if this may be your first experience. Let me explain, we took our dog in for routine grooming and the receptionist indicated our pet was due for a series of scheduled shots to which we granted authorization to administer. When it came time to pick our pet back up we were floored by the bill and all the additional add on charges which they took the liberty to perform on our pet without our consent. When it came time to pay my wife was literally in tears in their lobby since she wasn't present to be with our pet during the unauthorized exam and blood work ...etc. she asked to see the pet to which the reply was our policy is to receive payment before we can release the pet back to the owner. REALLY? How sympathetic is this to a pet owner's concern for their beloved pet. Moral of the story here is this could be you so watch for the upsell ... even car repair shops seem to have more integrity & compassion then this facility. I know the word has been out on the streets of Oakland Twp/Lake Orion .., etc. and friends and neighbors have already been taking their pets to other vets for years for this very same reason. It's a shame because the vet is good yet their business model is a cash grab. Hopefully through social media this may change over time but until then please be careful if you continue or are considering Goodi$on vet. Read Less

We have been visiting Dr. Doug at Goodison Vet since 1998 with our German shorthairs. The staff is friendly and pet loving. The doctors are helpful and spend a lot of time with you answering any questions you may have. We wouldn't take our pets anywhere else. Read Less

Goodison Vet is a great clinic. I have brought my mouse, Stella, here, and I've been so pleased with the treatment she got. Dr. Savage is wonderful and caring, and the rest of the staff is too. They do their best to help creatures great and small. The former clinic I brought Stella to barely cared at all about a little mouse, but the staff at Goodison Veterinary Center treats her just as kindly as any more typical pet! What's not to love in this place? We've been going here for 7 years for our two kitty cats. I was impressed at how big and roomy this place is. Very clean also. They have a good team of Vets here. Snickers and Shadow are now seeing Dr. Jill Savage and she is just wonderful. She is really good with them. They cost a little more compared to the other ones around the area but they are definitely worth it:) Definitely recommend this place. Read Less

I have been taking my maltese here since he was 8 weeks old. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Yee. She is very knowledgable and understanding. She makes you feel at ease from the moment you meet her. There have been several occasions where I have had to bring my puppy in because he was either sick or needed immediate care and every time the staff has fit me in that very day within a couple hours of calling. It is true that you get what you pay for with a vet. Although Goodison is a little more expensive than other clinics the quality of care way surpasses other clinics. I highly recommend them and definitely recommend Dr. Yee. Read Less
