He is a compassionate, knowledgeable person who always remembers my pets, providing them with the best of care and providing me with down to earth, practical advice. I have a big dog, who is a big baby. New situations make him very nervous. If he could, he would shrivel up into nothing. Dr. Burkholder was wonderful with him! She was attentive and professional. She even managed to roll his huge self over when he was acting like a 102# beetle. Dr Burkholder explained everything to me, but in laymen's terms. We have been going here for a few years now. Typically, it was always a great experience. Until recently.......We brought one of our dogs in and were misdiagnosed. We ended up having an emergency vet come to the house and then ended up at a neurologist. Moore was getting copies of medical records and not once called to check on our dog. I called Dr. Nurse to get another neurologists name for a second opinion and he was less than compassionate. I am still in shock. We are now 8 weeks deep into a UTI and bladder infection that was missed and diagnosed as hip dysplasia. They should be covering my thousands of dollars in vet bills that I have had over the last 8 weeks. It never should have gotten this far. Read Less

Two days ago I had to say goodbye to my beloved 17 year old cat.  I've taken both my cat and dog here for two years and sometimes have been on the fence about whether I've been satisfied with their care.  It wasn't the quality of care given but my interactions with the staff.  That all changed and I can't thank the staff enough.  Everybody was so kind and helpful during one of the most painful  moments in my life.  I really felt that Dr. Nurse and his staff took the time to explain my options and what was going to happen.  They were extremely tender towards my poor, sick cat and let me have time to say good bye.  I'm getting weepy but I'll always be grateful. I have taken all four of my cairn terriers to Moore for over a decade. Dr. Burkholder is expert, compassionate and the staff is amazing. My one cairn tore his ACL and Dr. Nurse took expert care of him- surgery was excellent and healed well. I highly recommend them- every time I have needed them the have helped immediately. I took our 18 yr. old cat named Ashley to the Hosp., knowing he was very sick...I can't say enough good things about the entire staff and Dr. Burkholder who not only helped Ashley but myself as w Dr. Burkholder basically confirmed what my worst fears were was to put Ashley to sleep and end his suffering. They allowed me to spend as much time as I needed to say Goodbye to our beloved Ashley. They were so kind, compassionate and caring, not only for our beloved cat, but were very patient and caring for me as well. A few yrs. ago we had to put our Smokey to sleep and Dr. Nurse was the attending Doctor and all of the staff were just as nice and patient with him as well as with me again I would recommend this facility without hesitation. I always look at the reputation of how many years a firm is in business. When I first received Thomasina a male rescue kitten in 2005. Saw they were in business for going on 70 years. I went to Moore Veterinary Hospital perhaps ten Years ago I had an older cat that was about 10 years old and younger kitten at 3 months old. I have no complaints about the service I received from Dr. Richard Nurse. He was always professional. Sometime later, the older cat crossed over the rainbow bridge at age 13 and the other one, Sunny, I had for 6 Years. Then I had to give him up for adoption because I moved to Adrian, MI. I couldn't bring him with me.Sunny came in August, 2009 and this is 2016. I had to say goodbye to him in 2014. Read Less

Dr. Nurse and the veterinary staff took wonderful care of our cats. One staff member, if things were quiet when I took the cat to get her nails clipped, would take the time to help brush her (she had a double coat, very challenging). As happens, when both cats were old and sick and we took them in to put them out of pain, the entire crew was wonderful to both the cat and us during that sad time. True animal lovers. Read Less

My parents went to Moore for our family dog and when I adopted a dog, I decided to do the same. We used to be frequently visitors when we were treating our rescue dog for mange and the staff always made us feel welcome. This place is great. They squeeze you in for emergencies, the entire staff is very understanding and compassionate, and they work with you for payment arrangements. took both my dog's in for teeth cleaning which they do blood work before procedure. guess it was okay as they went on! after the procedure i had a problem right away with are one dog. after several visit stating it was this or that, it was a collapse trachea. so as i went back, and kept up with the visit's, i recieve another invoice (money again) this notice had a comment that i just recently read, states your pet is overweight and what could happen to a overweight animal.. my dog gain 3 pds. since 1st visit, 8 pds was his weight! this was never brought to my attention. so went to another vet to comfirm what happen. had to see a specialist in bloomfield hills, more testing, this is month's later and now has been not exactly finish. dr. debra burkholer i made her blush comforting her early on!! so i was told to speak with dr. nice our orginal vet who we really like, but i kept getting dr. b. so when i talked with him he offered me 100.00 back not asking for money, explantion i finally told him to take that 100. and save a dog. now many dollar's later, not 100. under 3000. i feel free to right this. i love my dog and it's not a good look out for him, i'm not complaining about the care everyday for him, we will be so heart broken over the loss of our dog. but i have loss much more in life, esp. if you know me...had to right to express for our dear fun loving dog. that's not what he use to be, for not very long. enough said.Read Less

Today I took my puppy for her 3 round of vaccines and I will never step foot in this vet again. 1. The girl at the front desk was rude and didn't know what was even going on with my pet. 2. I had to tell them she needed a fecal before you de-worm her again she has already had two rounds. 3. You gave my dog a vaccine that is not needed nor recommended. 4. Oh and you didn't even want to weigh my pup because it wasn't needed.Read Less

I took my latest rescued dog here today. He was a little fearful and the staff was very patient and loving with him. All of my questions were answered and I was able to get everything needed in one visit including preventive meds for the year. I'm even getting back a $50 rebate that I donated back to the vet for use toward a rescued animal they're caring for. Great experience! Read Less

We have been coming here for about 6 years. They have seen 3 of our dogs and our cat. We see Dr. Burkholder and absolutely love her. She listens to everything we say, answers all of our questions and gives us trustworthy advice. The rest of the staff is great too and very accommodating. My animals are cared for as well as I am at my doctor's office. Pet care is very expensive and I never feel pressured to buy more treatments or meds than I can afford. I have been taking my dog here for 4 years now and Dr. Nurse yes.... Dr. Nurse is great. The staff is very friendly helpful and accommodating.  They are a little bit more on the expensive side but you know you are getting trusted good care for your pet. They also offer microchipping for $40 which is well worth the investment. Read Less
