This place was awful. We recently moved to St. Johns and were hoping to find a vet that was as good as our previous one, and this was definitely not it. Our kitty has stomatitis, which causes gum inflammation, and he needs an antibiotic/steroid injection every couple months. At our previous vet, this cost $25 per visit. Here, we walked out paying $110, and that was despite the pathetic attempts of Dr. Wildrose to order additional tests and procedures. This included a whole-mouth tooth extraction, which has never been shown to be effective in the research (I've checked - and other vets we've talked to have said this would be too traumatic on the animal). A warning bell of "FRAUD" immediately went through our minds. She clearly was in this for the money, proven by her inane attempts to order additional tests, including seeing a cat optometrist, ordering bloodwork ($170), and charging a ridiculous amount of money for what other vets do for free (testing the eyes, ensuring he didn't have an ear infection). The office visit alone was $45, for about 5 minutes of her time. Ridiculous. She attempted to guilt us into ordering these tests, and we walked out completely disgusted. It would be better for our cat (and easier on our checkbook) if we just drove two hours to see our QUALIFIED vet from our previous hometown.
Our search continues for a doctor that will take good care of our kitty. Our advice to anyone who is looking for a vet by reading reviews is to keep looking --- this place will just try to rip you off, and they clearly don't have the best interests of the animals in mind.Read Less
