I purchased a puppy from Dee Dee Hall, the owner and Vet at this practice 2 years ago. Her website and she personally claims the parents are health tested “excellent hips”. I decided to trust her since she is a veterinarian and i didn’t look it up myself and gave her a large sum of money for a puppy. 2 years later, my dog struggles to get off the floor, has issues running, is painful, wants to sleep all day. We have to get hip x-rays done, and put him of joint support after we were told “excellent hips and health tested parents, which was all a lie and false advertising. I have tried to contact Dee Dee with no return response. If this is how she conducts business and breeds dogs, I can’t only imagine how she is as a veterinarian! Read Less

I like one particular vet at Sand Lake. She is very professional!! The workers handing the animals wreak like cigarette smoke big time !!!!! I hate that smell!!!! VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!! They can be very rood to you also. I feel pretty uncomfortable 😣 around them. They have no doors on there Operatories ...... which I hate.... What ever happened to privacy??? I don’t need the waiting room people out there knowing my business!!!!!! Or staring at my dog!!!!!! All and all the only reason we go there is for one particular vet!!!!! Thats it. I highly recommend this Veterinary Service. Their staff is amazing with hearts of gold. Over the years, my family and I have had a total of four pets there at different times and they all treated them with the best of care and warmth. I brought in a badly injured kitten I found on the side of the road and within minutes they put her into their schedule and took care of her with a surgery the next day. Three days later, she's doing extremely well. They even stayed late in order to do a feline leukemia test on the kitten so that we would know the results (negative). After trouble shooting a possible intestinal blockage with our vet and trying our best to avoid the emergency vet, we turned to Sand Lake Veterinary Services to help us out in a pinch. After explaining the situation and that our doggo likely needed exploratory surgery, they fit us in quickly, were hospitable and took incredible care of our pup. Living 45 minutes away from Sand Lake, it was very scary trusting a vet that we had never met or been to before. Upon our first interaction with the staff and Dr. , I was blown away by how helpful and understanding of our situation they were. Our pup stayed at their office for 3 days while he recovered and they were more than happy to answer our questions, facilitate visits and call us to keep us updated. They were also more than happy to keep our primary vet up to date regularly for post-op treatment. I absolutely recommend this vet for anyone living in N. Kent County or willing to drive to Sand Lake for incredible veterinary care. Read Less

-star! Very unhappy with Dr. Hall. We have had her as our vet for our dogs and in the beginning for about 8-9 years she was top shelf! I would praise her work. But in the last year she has been unavailable and her staff is less than professional and her rates have sky rocketed! Her staff is huge now and they talk more than they work. I pleaded with her receptionist with an emergency for my dog and she said were booked but you could schedule and emergency visit for $65.00. Her ad says 24/7 yah right! Money! It's what her main concern is now not saving and treating pets. I called her second office in Howard City and asked to get in and was also turned away! I called yet another Vet and I got in within the hour. My baby was seriously ill she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure! Never again will I step foot in her clinics and I urge who ever reads this to look else where for a dedicated vet.Unhappy pet owner! Read Less

After doing a lot of research on flea treatments and learning that the best treatment is in fact with your vet, I assumed that I would have my problem solved. I originally wanted to get the $50 topical treatment, only to learn that it isn't waterproof and I live on a lake, so that was no longer an option for me. I chose the edible tablet that is good for 3 months versus the monthly tablet one time a month for 3 months. The tech said "You can just give it to them and not have to worry about remembering a monthly dose". WRONG! Only 2.5 weeks later and my dog has fleas again...bad! I even bought their $25 home spray which I was told "will kill any eggs and larva". WRONG AGAIN! So after $80 with taxes, etc., and a poor puppy that scratches all night long, I called for a solution and more or less, ANSWERS as to WHY I still had fleas? Why did my 3 mo. dose only last 2.5 weeks? They said it must be the "new batch of eggs" that hatched. When I mentioned the spray "supposedly" kills the larva, they said they'd call me back with an answer. I even asked if I'd get a call back within the day and they said yes. Well...they are now closed. No answers. No return call. No flea resolution. Just $80 down the drain and an unhappy puppy. Save your money. Go to a vet that knows what they're talking about!! Very late review, but would give a negative star if I could. We took our new puppy here to get neutered last year. He was a cryptorchid and also had a hernia. They did not neuter my dog or even find his other testicle or fix his hernia! They put him under and made several horrible incisions to try and "find" the testicle. And were unable. And when we came to get him they basically just said yeah sorry couldn't find it, while also not giving my dog pain medication after the surgery too!! I now work at a vet as an assistant and I know not giving a dog pain medicine is a horrible thing. Took my dog to a different vet and the doctor walked in and found his other testicle just by feeling it and gave us meds at no charge, was able to neuter him, and fix his hernia as well. Also have just been treated rudely at Sand Lake. But after that experience I am never going there again and strongly advise anyone I meet not to either. Read Less

I loved the staff! They all loved my kitty, Nora, too! They all wanted to hold her and give her treats. They had to take blood, which made me nervous because my kitty started to squirm, but they handled it great! It took a while for the Vet to see my kitty, but you either get fast, or you get good. Not both. Give yourself plenty of time to go here. They even called me asking for an update of Nora. The only downside to this office, (and a reason I may choose a different vet's office next time) is that there are not doors on the exam rooms. With a kitten who wants to explore, that was irritating. I couldn't keep her in the room! GREAT PEOPLE, but I'm not digging the no-door thing. If you have a pet you is okay just sitting around, and you have the time, I suggest this place to all my fellow Pet Parents. Read Less

All I can say is they performed what seemed to be the hardest 5hrs +surgery on my dog that most if not all veterinarian's would have given up on. And it is down to the very last little piece of uterus that the vet decided to try something new and it by some miracle worked. And they kept us up to date as we sat in the lobby all day. It was such a team effort and the staff working on our dog were great they ended up not eating all day so thru would have all hands on deck to work on her. I don't know what we would have done. If it would have been a different day different office or different staff we would be morning our family dog. They save our little family when they saved our dog and I will FOREVER be grateful for all thier hard work and persistence. Read Less

Comfortable, affordable, friendly. I haven't had to deal with them in an emergency situation, but for the routine healthcare we've undergone so far, can't beat it.They did chop my dog up a little bit during his neutering. He was fine, but had a nasty mangled/jagged scar for quite awhile. While he was under, they  trimmed his nails, and trimmed them so far he bled. He had quite an awful day. My daughter and I took her cat Misty who was suffering from renal failure to the dr there and actually reversed the problem and lived for several years after that. I now bring my cat Booboo there too, and she and the whole clinic are very accommodating. With all these other vets raising their prices to almost as much as human doctors; it is refreshing to find one that doesn't charge an arm and a leg. Excellent vet Clinic! Read Less
