The staff and medical care for our dog is great. Sometimes I think they offer a little too much in terms comfort options but they're never pushy. So I can respect that. But like I said, the care for our golden is top notch and we recommend Dandy Acres to anybody that asks. Read Less

Choosing Dandy Acres as my regular vet and boarding has been a wonderful choice. I found them spur of the moment 4 years ago when I moved to the New Hudson area. I came home from work to a very sick dog, and after a quick search online I gave Dandy Acres a call. They saw me that day within 15 minutes of my call even though they were closing soon. Now we live 45 minutes away, and we still go back because the staff is so nice. They also take every one of my concerns seriously, and they give me a list of pricing before they decide to do anything. I am so happy I found Dandy Acres Animal Hospital! From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, the whole staff made me feel very comfortable and welcoming. I really enjoyed how both the technician and the veterinarian were very calm and really tried to make my Blaze (cat) feel as comfortable as possible. I also found it very cool that the vet brought me back "behind the scenes" to check out the operating room and what goes on back there. Usually vet offices try to push as many vaccines and procedures that they can on you in order to make a few extra bucks, but not here! The vet gave me a lot of information on dental cleaning, but did not push it on me and let me consider it on my own time. Lastly, getting a follow-up call after my appointment for Blaze's test results and to see if I had any further questions was a nice touch and made me feel like the staff really cares about my pet's health. I've been taking my small poodle mix to Dandy Acres for the past 12 years. The vets and staff are very knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. Whenever I've had to leave my dog there for dental cleanings, tests, or procedures, I take comfort in knowing she's in good hands and will be well taken care of. I also appreciate the time they take to explain treatments, conditions, after-care, etc. during office visits and follow-up phone calls to see how my dog has been doing. I have been a client at Dandy Acres for 28 years with 9 dogs and a few strays/rescues. The owners, staff and doctors are highly professional, friendly and very caring. I know that when I have to leave my dog overnight for hospitalization they treat my dog like I treat (and spoil) my dog and that is very comforting to me. Called to have our dogs (Rottweiler & French Bulldog) boarded for our wedding on a friend's recommendation. We were told that the French Bulldog was able to come but not the Rottweiler due them not taking "power breeds". When asked if they took Golden Retrievers or Labs we were told yes so clearly this is because he is a Rottweiler. We have been breed shamed on multiple occasions and I normally attributed it to lack of knowledge or just plain ignorance. I can not express enough how wonderful this place is. The kindness and compassion is outstanding! Jessica happened to be the one to take my call one night a couple weeks ago....she was so kind that the water works started and I couldn't stop. She said I could have my cat seen asap. I arrived still crying, and when the assistant came in, I was still crying. Exhaustion and worry had taken over but they were patient with me. I can't even remember which doctor saw Jules, but they were wonderful. I left relieved and smiling. I had a voicemail the next day checking in on us! A very rude women at the front desk. def didn't feel too comfey the doctor was great everyone else seemed to b just getting through the day. I waited over an hour to see the vet one time finally I had to say something as my dog and I were getting Restless I go out the back door and they're eating McDonald's cheeseburgers leaning against the counter I seriously sat there for over an hour..... then they had none of my paperwork and information on what they've done to my dogs in the past for 5 months (good thing I kept it all) so I went and got heartworm medsfor my puppy and have them print out what I would need for a different that in case I didn't keep everything and left too a different vet every surrounding that was at least one-third cheaper on everything I looked into very dissatisfied but they seem to be able to remember to mail my Dandy Acres come stay at our lodge thing every monthRead Less

Second visit I "got smart" (or so I thought) and called ahead... I asked how much to clean my jack russell terriers teeth... I was told $100 so I made an appointment. At the finish of the appointment I was told that my balance was 420-some dollars. I told them I had been told it was only $100 and was then told.. oh, well we have to put dogs under for that and there are other additional charges for all the "other things" that go along with the cleaning. I don't know why I did not raise holy hell but I just put it on my credit card. Being a glutton for punishment, I went here for the last and final time. My fur baby had developed a tumor on his bottom. The vet looked at him and said that at their location they would not do surgery and that where it was at, it was basically inoperable. They apologize and say with teary eyes that I just have to accept his death ( and another ridiculously high charge). I was told they would call to check up on him. Nobody ever even called. He lived for more than three years after their "death sentence". My son recently got a puppy and took him there for the "Complementary Exam" and his free exam was just over $150. If I had known he was going to take the pup there I would have warned him. I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER take any other fur baby of mine to this facility & I warn everyone I know about their deceptive practices. Read Less

I have been going to Dandy Acres for about a year. My puppy is a rescue. I found the staff to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I really like that the lobby is calm. Most recently I met the owner's son, who worked the front desk. He was very professional and caring. I plan to bring my dog to the day care camp they recently started. I really like it there and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality place for the care of their pet. The vets are all top notch. Please read this. We took our dog of 11 years to this vet. We are from out of town. She wasn't eating. This vet took her blood - it showed her kidneys were failing. So Dandy Acres said - you need to put her down. She is suffering. OMG- the worst thing you want to hear. We were devastated. We felt something was wrong because although we knew she was sick, she was acting mostly fine. We - thank goodness- took her to another vet for a second opinion. They put her on medicine. She is FINE! Happy happy and we STILL have her. You blood levels have gone way down. Please do not trust this vet at all. Read Less
