I'm very surprised to read the couple of bad reviews here, saying that the staff was rude or unprofessional. I've been going to Hilldale for 20 years, and I have never had that kind of experience. Everyone has always been very polite, helpful and professional. As for the remarks about small and dirty ?????? I am shaking my head. I have never seen it dirty - and I've looked! Small? It's a vet office with normal sized rooms! I've been very happy here for 20 years, and I absolutely cherish my dogs - I would give them nothing but the best care.

I have taken my cats to Hilldale for over 20 years. They are wonderful. Dr. Whitten is very knowledgeable. He is kind to both pets and their owners. When my cat had cancer, he called regularly to check on her and to help me through a difficult time. The rest of the staff is excellent as well. I highly recommend them.Marge W.

Can't say I was very impressed with this place. I was looking for a vet last minute in a pinch - a family member recommended Hilldale. The girl on the phone was friendly enough, but inside was a different story. The lady I interacted with at the front desk was very short with me and kept playing on her phone. The vet was okay, but the girl helping her to hold my dog on the table was very rough with her (she's 12 years old). My poor dog's legs kept slipping because she has bad hips and the girl would angrily jerk her up again, sighing each time.After a routine visit they recommended squeezing my dog's anal glands - I said she had never needed it before but they insisted so I let them. They took her away from me into the back and moments later I heard her SCREAMING in pain along with multiple angry voices yelling at her. When they gave her back to me, she was cowering. Back in the lobby when I was paying, I noticed she had lube and greasy poo still on her backend. When I brought it up to the lady at the front desk, she very rudely told me it was normal. At that point I had already decided I'd never be back again. In addition to this bad experience, I can tell you this place is small, dirty, and very expensive for what it is.

A friend of mine suggested Hilldale to us when our regular vet couldn't get our cat in quickly. They have great business hours, and everyone that works there is so nice. Our oldest cat has always been very healthy, and she's 14 now so when she got sick, I became extremely upset and worried. I was crying on the way to the appointment, and they made me feel better. We plan on returning. Thanks!

This is the best vet hospital I've ever had the pleasure of working with. The staff is the most knowledgeable overall from front to back. They are caring, loving and go out of their way to ensure my pet gets the best care around!! No other hospital I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot and in other states) has compared to the specialness this one holds. There's something to say about a family run business. I love them!!

Extremely overpriced, dirty, and unprofessional. Staff is very rude and unknowledgeable. They were playing on their phones the whole time I was there. Waiting room smelled like pee. They charged me about $300 MORE than they quoted me for. My dog was visibly upset when I got her back - plus she had blood on her.Bottom line, horrible place to take your pet. They treat animals like an assembly line and mark up the price to ridiculous amounts. Greedy and uncaring. Avoid at all costs.

Can't say I was very impressed with this place. I was looking for a vet last minute in a pinch - a family member recommended Hilldale. A friend of mine suggested Hilldale to us when our regular vet couldn't get our cat in quickly. They have great business hours, and everyone that works there is so nice. Our oldest cat has always been very healthy, and she's 14 now so when she got sick, I became extremely upset and worried. I was crying on the way to the appointment, and they made me feel better. We plan on returning. Thanks!

This is the best vet hospital I've ever had the pleasure of working with. The staff is the most knowledgeable overall from front to back. They are caring, loving and go out of their way to ensure my pet gets the best care around!! No other hospital I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot and in other states) has compared to the specialness this one holds. There's something to say about a family run business. I love them!!
