The staff always puts me on hold for more than ten minutes every time I call, they are never friendly, never seem to remember when I call ahead to get my dog’s prescription filled (and seem to get flustered when I ask about it the day of), and do not keep up with the visits that occur at their sister location in Romeo. They double performed and therefore double charged me for things my dog already received a couple months ago, and when I ask questions and try to figure out why, I’m talked to like I don’t know what’s going on with my own animal. I’ve wasted too much time and money at this clinic. I only take my dog to this Sterling Heights location when I have no other choice, because it’s down the street from my house. The majority of the time we make the 40 minute drive to the Romeo location to have our dog treated. The competence, friendliness, and timeliness are STRIKINGLY better and worth the hike. I’m disappointed every time I leave the Sterling Heights clinic. Their good qualities include the cleanliness and technician availability, when I can finally speak to someone on the phone. Update: my husband went in for Front Line Plus and they sold him Gold. He made a point to assure me he asked for Plus because that’s what we agreed upon for our dog. I have been taking my Yorkie's to Animal Clinic Of Sterling heights for over 20 years now. Great experience with each visit. Everyone is caring and always professional. My Yorkie Max recently required surgery. I really appreciated them calling me with how the surgery went and a follow up call the next day to see how Max was doing. They have always been consistent providing 5 star treatment with each visit. I would not consider going to anyone else. GREAT JOB!!! Read Less

Well this is the 2nd time I have had a dire situation with my dog that I have not been able to get in. My dog passed away last night and I feel if we could have been on top of this maybe this could have changed. I called Tuesday at 8:00 to find out that I should have called at 6:00. Who knew. Was told they were filled. My dog had been seen by Dr. Griffin for many years and she knew his case well and it would have been better if he could have been seen by a vet that knew the history of his problem. I left 2 messages but she never got back with me till 6:30pm. Said she never saw the message. I don’t blame her. I blame who runs that office. I ended up somewhere else and this situation became irresolvable. If this had been just the first time but this is an ongoing problem. I love Dr. Griffin she is the best, but Dr. Wilson’s business model needs to be reassessed. I loved this place years ago, but truly need to look elsewhere. I have been a loyal and committed customer and have spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars with them but feel I need an office that can be there when I need them. They treated my cat like he didn't matter. When I described his symptoms J Krieger looked at me blankly and walked out. I couldn't get prescriptions called in 3 times. The last request was ignored completely. Insensitive, put on hold every time I called, and shuffled through like a cash machine. I lost my beautiful Crisco after 5 mos of suffering for all of us. You people should be ashamed. But you aren't, you got your money. Go somewhere else, at least get treated with some inkling of dignity. Read Less

The staff is superb. Always very helpful, kind and go the extra mile to assist you. A young lady by the name of Lisa always goes over and beyond expectations. Takes the time to assist you and your furry four legged family member. The medical staff is awesome. They take the time to explain what is ailing your pet and what needs to be done to correct it. Overall a great experience here, price is right and even though they can be extremely busy the front desk moves and works hard to get you taken care of and out the door in a reasonable amount of time. It took four vet offices before we found a doctor that could determine what was wrong with our dog. Dr. Wilson at Animal Clinic of Sterling Heights is amazing! I've been coming here for over 10 years. Used to love it but now I think I'll be looking for a new vet. Any time I call it never fails that I'm put on hold right away. If I need to make an appt they're always booked out for a month. My dog recently got sick and I tried to get her in but they wouldn't work with me so I had to take her to the ER which cost me $250 and I was there for 4 hours. I'll be writing a review for that place as well...The seating in this place is horrible! Like sitting on a rock. It's ok if it's just for a few minutes but you will spend over an hour in this place for sure. Doctors are nice and staff is as well but the waiting and the discomfort is too much to handle now. It's just not worth it anymore. I'm writing this review while sitting in the room for an hour. Just waited 20 min to just check out. Now that is twice I have to put down and ill or old age a final and they ask you Are you sure you have tried all options!!! Money Greedy Staff! Being in the medical field myself I know when to say enough is enough and NOT let an animal suffer anymore! Trust me I have fought hard with my emotional decision to come to this heartbreaking choice! How rude is it for the staff to make you feel worse? While your heart is broken! Trust me if I could cure kidney failure I would have! I have come to the conclusion that the staff is unsympathetic and lack empathy! When they took my animal into the back my animal was out of my room getting the IV for at least a half hour to 45 minutes.....very disappointed! Twice twice something that is very heartbreaking and it's supposed to be fast and smooth . Takes 2 hours from the time you arrive to the time you leave in putting your animal down....smh Read Less

Very good with my dog. Very impressed with how my dog didn't even flinch when they gave him his immunization shots. Although he was genuinely weirded out when they took his temp, under the circumstances, he didn't seem too stressed. Gentle doctors make all the difference Read Less

I used to love this place, knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices but in the last year oh how things have changed.  I have been bringing all three of my pets here for the past four years and in the last year every time I call to make an appointment I am told to call at 8am for a same day appointment.  Apparently that's their business model now.  You literally can never plan an appointment or in that sense choose the Dr you see (of which it is always changing very high turn over), no one seems to know or care at all about your pet when you are there, every visit is like the first visit.  This place is literally like a factory and your pets health care suffers.  If you are so lucky to actually get an appointment you will wait for hours.  Our last appointment my husband waited nearly and hour and a half to go into a room, and an additional 45 minutes once inside of the room for a rushed, five minute visit with a vet that doesn't know our pet from Adam.  Yes, this place seems affordable if your time means nothing to you and you want poor service. I have been coming here for 10 years. The prices are reasonable & I love all the vets & vet techs. The front desk however is a different story. They are not too friendly, unorganized, and inexperienced. I had to wait 25 minutes on hold just to ask if I could pick up my dog. After being bounced to 5 differ reps, I finally got an answer & no apology. And that's just one example of the low level customer service. The front desk does not reflect well on this company. Dr. Pierson has been nothing short of amazing with my dog going through chemo. We currently live out of state and had to rush our dog to the emergency vet clinic near our home in Chicago. Dr. Pierson was so unbelievably helpful throughout this difficult process. She even gave me her personal cell to reach out to her with any questions or concerns. I have been with this vet for at least 5 years now, they are just too busy any more, not enough time spent with each patient, fair prices, but doesn't justify no time. Just tried to get my oldest dog in, has been ill for the last 2 days. I cannot get in for 2 weeks, Unless I call at 6am for a same day emergency visit. Sorry, I don't think they will give him the time we need for a good, proper diagnosis. I will be getting copies of all my dogs files and finding a new vet. One that has the time to spend to get to know my dogs and get a thorough diagnosis. You were good when we first started seeing you, but now you have just outgrown your use to us. Maybe Wilson's should consider another building in the area? You might retain me as a customer with either a larger or another facility in my area. Read Less

If you have an emergency you can forget about this place they don't even answer their phone. Hello, I'm calling because you are my pets primary care giver and I need you to tell me what to do when I feel it's an emergency and you can't even answer the phone. Then they tell you to go to Romeo because they don't have any appointment and you end up waiting for 3 hours to see a vet...I don't even wait at the emergency room for myself that long. UGH!! Tuesday and still no call wtf. also I got a second opinion at a different vet, he charged me less that half of what they charged me. I used to love this place. Fairly priced and won't push unnecessary services on your pet. And they're open beyond "standard" times. However, each time, our wait has grown increasingly long. Today, I'm writing this review in a room. My pet's appointment time was 8:45. I got here a few minutes early even. It's now 9:50. No vet. Not explanations until I said I needed to leave. So disappointed!! This place used to be great. I've been using them for 10 years.  Now they have very poor service and inconsistencies. Just took my two cats and dog there for wellness checks. Waited 25 min past my appointment time before I was even taken back.  I was told the heartguard was $35 and it was almost $100 when I checked out. One cat got a one year rabies vaccine and the other cat and dog got the 3 year like they were suppose to. So that just cost me another $16 when I have to get another one next year for that cat. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for me to say goodbye to my 17 year old pup. I made the same day appointment with advance notice for a time. They told me I would be able to stay with him the entire time. They didn't tell me they were taking him away for the iv, until they came to do it. Horrible. Why would you book 3 same appointments for 3 different patients/clients at 6:00pm???? I arrived earlier so I can sign some papers. Sat and waited for about 40 minutes.... It was already 6:30 and I just left because why would you book me for a certain time but have me sit and wait longer than called for? What was more rude was when it was 6:20 I approached the front desk and asked what's going on and the lady in front  rudely said "we have 3 doctors on duty, that's whats going on." What the hell is that supposed to mean??? 3 doctors sounds plenty to me so IDK what I was supposed to do with that information. I really love this place. The staff is wonderful with my two babies. Always such care and reasonable prices. I highly recommend it, I drive 45 mins to visit this hospital only. My appointment (for a surgical consult for my dog with a cruciate tear) was at 7pm. I arrived at 6:50 and was told the wait would not be long and that there were 4 people ahead of me. At 7:25 I asked if we were next and was told there were still 2 people ahead of me. I informed them I could not wait any longer and would not be back. Everyone I talked to was nice. I am working with my second service dog and this is the only vet I would use in the tricounty area. Staff is friendly, docs are knowledgeable, and doc Wilson is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. I recently took my animals here for the first time. My only complaint was that they're so busy: it was difficult to make an appointment. So, be prepared to schedule several weeks out. Doctors are great, but they seriously overbook. I have never been there and was seen under 30 minutes after my appointment time.  Then, in the exam room, I've never waited less than 20 minutes.  Three times I have told them I'm leaving because of waiting so long.  They are a great vet, but their operations are terrible. Our rescue uses Dr. Wilson. He does amazing work on some seriously injured & sick dogs. He has saved many dogs that other vets gave up on. He is a really good orthopaedic surgeon. And his prices are reasonable. Some of his staff can be a bit...abrupt. Read Less

We loved Dr Wilson so much, we drove an hour, sometimes longer, to see him. Our bulldog had a typical bulldog-specific problem, and our neighborhood vet really couldn't help her. Dr Wilson fixed it in two visits! His "bedside" manner was wonderful, too (if vets have bedside manner). No complains about other vets in the business, nor of any technicians. Also, very reasonable in terms of cost--probably a third of what we paid a vet in Northern Oakland County. Unfortunately, our dog has since passed on (old age, bad heart), but if we ever adopt another one, we will go nowhere else. I've been going to this place for 15 years plus. The vets and techs are always very knowledgeable and helpful. I'm never made to wait very long for my appointment, typically right on time. You can tell they truly want to care for your pet. They would get five stars from me if only they would not put me on hold every single time I call. Been using this clinic for years , Dr. Wilson did a great job on my dog's surgery , but over the last year I've seen a huge decline. Techs are clueless and rude . They will leave you unattended in a room for an hour . They almost killed my Yorkie poo with their incompetence. A simple blood draw was almost disasterous , when they drew from the neck and they didn't watch the site . His collar was on and in minutes he had a hard time breathing . This place was recommended by NBS Animal Rescue when my parents adopted their 3 year old Morkie.  I love that they work with rescues and so I was sold.   Last night I took my 15 year old cat and 8 year old dog to the clinic.  It's REALLY busy and loud in the lobby - so be prepared.   Not that it's a bad thing - just not a lot of soft things to absorb the noise.   It's also not surprising becuase the animals are a bit stressed.  It's the vet!I feel like a dummy because I cannot remember the vet's name that we saw (I will revise this once I look at the paperwork which I flied away).  But she was caring and really went through what both my fur children needed.   I just moved back from Los Angeles and they needed a few more things than in Cali.   We don't have to worry about about heartworm out there.   Their prices where very reasonable - I always had sticker shock in LA when I checked out at the vet there.  Not here.  My pets are worth every penny - but it's nice when you don't feel taken advantage of. My fiance and I have been using this clinic for almost 3 years now. When we brought home our (now) 2 1/2 year old Pitbull puppy at only 6 weeks old, Dr. Booth was the reason we conitnued to use this clinic. He was very friendly and attentive to all of Beau's needs and was extremely pleasant to us and our little puppy. We used to brag about this clinic to all of our friends and recommended this office to all of our friends who are pet parents. However, within the last year, (after Dr. Booth left this location) we have not received the wonderful service that we were so accustomed to. Aside from the extremely long waiting time to see a doctor, we have not found another doctor at this location that has made us feel comfortable or even taken the time to listen to our concerns or answer any questions. The doctors always seem to be in a rush, resulting in feeling as though we are a bother rather than a welcomed and appreciated customer. During our last visit a few days ago, we arrived 15 minutes early for our appointment. After sitting in an exam room for over 45 minutes without seeing a doctor, or even being acknowleged by the staff, we decided to leave. No attempts were made to keep us from leaving, nor were we even questioned as to why. We have decided to look for another veterinary clinic where our business is appreciated and we know that Beau's needs will be met. They are so WONDERUL! the doctors have such passion for every animal that walks in, they really want to help animals. what I also like about the doctors there is, they not only care about the pets but they also care about the people who bring in their pets. If your pet is healthy and a dog you will be ok here. If you have a sick animal or a cat- go someplace you will get more personal care. They are in a rush. They give cats dog vaccines. The 'specialist' head vet is only there a couple of days a week and is never available to consult the other vets. They are nice, but they will put your pet in a cage for hours and not do anything for it. They tried to send my cat home in agony and dehydrated. I had to demand an audience with the specialist and pain meds and fluids. I love dogs, but my cat does not. The place smells like dogs and urine. It is stressful for a cat. I will not go back. I had to see five different doctors five days in a row and none of them are on the same page. They leave you waiting in there lobby and then in an exam room and then it takes 15 minutes to pay. Nice enough young vets and the vet techs, but Dr. Wilson- the head guy is aloof and unsympethetic after all of the five vets, 8 hours in a cage and the cats pain. I wont go back. Read Less

Animal Clinic has several wonderful vets; however getting to see them takes forever! Back when they were in the smaller clinic next door they seemed more caring and understanding. My worst experience was when I took my cat there that is very loving and she licked the Doctor...she got a smack in the face and I was told she needed to learn manners. When you call them to make an appointment you stay on hold for ten minutes even if it is an emergency. When you do need to get in for an emergency there is never any time and they tell you to go to the Romeo office. If you get to see Dr. Wilson or Dr. Lions they are the best just be sure you have time to wait!!! Read Less

Dr. Wilson and his clinics were recommended for my dog's orthopedic surgery. I live in Detroit so I opted for the closest clinic, being the Sterling Heights Animal Clinic. For the surgery consult appointment, I waited one hour after my scheduled appointment time in the waiting room, then I waited 15 minutes in a small exam room. The Dr. was professional, but not apologetic for the wait time. The day of my dog's surgery her check in went smoothly and I was notified at 5PM to pick her up at 8PM that night. Again, I waited in the waiting room for 45 minutes, then I was taken to get post surgical instructions, and then I paid--I waited another 10-15 minutes after I paid. They brought my dog out and she looked like she had been hit by a car! Her incision was bleeding and she was extremely groggy from the surgery. After an hour of waiting for my dog, they advised that I let them keep her overnight! The following day, I got a phone call asking how my dog was (mind you they still have my dog!). After work I called to see when I could pick her up, they told me that they didn't have my dog....I asked, ""what do you mean, I left her there last night after surgery, remember."" ""Oh, we transported her to the Romeo clinic, let me give you that number."" No one told me that was happing. So I call the Romeo clinic and they told me that they would have to check with the Dr. and call me back. At this point I asked to be called promptly because I was already half way there because I work in Rochester Hills, but live in Detroit. Low and behold, I waited another 40 minutes after I got the clinic until I got my dog in my car. Yes, it continues....I have been trying to schedule her 10 day check up and staple removal with no success. The staff on the phone has been rude. They keep telling me that they will call me back and they don't. When I call, they keep telling me he is booked--when I ask what do I do, how long can she go? They just keep telling me he's booked and they'll have to squeeze me in--they need to talk to the doctor--they will call. Well, they haven't done any of that to date. I have paid my bill in full, I am a surgical patient, I would think they would schedule accordingly. I am thinking of calling them and telling them that I saw staple removal on youtube and that I can take it from here! I will never recommend this clinic to anyone. If you have to pay another 100-200 dollars for an orthopedic surgery, it would be worth it not to be treated so poorly. Read Less
