Here at Troy Veterinary Hospital, we offer a variety of services to care for your pet. Your pet is our passion! Some of the common service we provide are exams, vaccinations, blood work, spay/neuter, biopsies, kennel services for boarding, nail trims, grooming* and much more! We have some of the most current technology to diagnose and develop treatment plans. Our licensed Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians take pride in dentistry, as we offer routine cleaning and extractions as necessary. Greedy, cold, materialistic and not animal loving...money loving.
They represent the worst of vets-no love or care for animals or people.
1) Does not call back or follow up
2) Quick judgment without all the facts present
3) Does not practice smart veterinary science but just throws the kitchen sink at the issue in order to get money first and recognize the problem second
4) No collaboration between Dr. Tate and Dr. Boensch
5) No consensus between the two vets or the staff
6) No empathy or sympathy from Dr. Tate specifically - no call backs while my cat was severely sick from Dr. Tate
7) Staff's emphasis is not on animal well-being or helping patients through trying times with sick pets. They only care about their paycheck.
DON'T GO THERE!

My fiance and I have been taking our dogs to Troy Veterinary Hospital for 4 years (2 years for our younger dog). Dr. Tate is amazing and so obviously cares a great deal for her patients. I trust her 100% to do the right thing for animals.
Lately we have been seeing Dr. Boensch, who is also absolutely a wonderful veterinarian! Recently we brought our slightly older dog in to have several teeth extracted. We were both extremely nervous to have him put under anesthesia. As many pet owners understand, we love our dogs just as though they are human family members and would be crushed if anything were to happen to them. Dr. Boensch and the wonderful vet tech (I believe her name is Rebecca, I am truly sorry if I have that wrong!) took wonderful care of our dog. Our dog is normally very anxious around strangers but he even ended up bonding with the vet tech. It is 3 days post-surgery and our dog is doing very well. They were very good to us owners as well, taking the time (that they probably really didn't have!) to answer our million questions and being very understanding when we acted like overbearing crazy dog owners.

The vets absolutely work their hardest. I love the exotic animal vet, she treats all of my guinea pigs so so nicely and when one of them passed away, she and many other workers at the hospital sent their condolences via card. It was very sweet and they have very good services.

I had to find a new veterinarian for my cat & I am so happy I found Dr. Berk at Troy Veterinary Hospital.She was just genuinely nice & very informative.She was also very patient, not in a big rush as some vet's seem to be. My people picky cat let her do the exam, vaccinations & all with no complaints, that right there says it all!
I was also greeted with a hello & a smile by the receptionist as soon as I opened the door. The office and exam room were both comfortable and clean and my cat was allowed to roam free in the exam room & check everything out before we saw the doctor, that seemed to make her much more at ease with everything.
After everything was done including Dr. Berk answering my many questions I held my breath at the front desk while waiting to hear how much this was going to cost me, It was way less than what I was guessing in my head and I was very happy with that besides being able to breath again! My vet search is done, they're stuck with us now :)

Their caring demeanor puts you and your pet at ease no matter what the purpose of you visit. If you are looking for a vet there is no need to look further.

Dr. Tate and Dr. Berk worked together on a 7 hour surgery to save my dog's life. This is after finding a diagnosis on foreign object that a specialty vet totally missed even after an ultrasound. The love and care they gave my special girl touched my heart. Whenever we call to make an appointment Linda is prompt and knowledgeable and especially sweet. Best vets we ever had.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Troy Veterinary Hospital and the entire staff became like family to me over 8 years ago when I began using Dr. Tate as my pets primary doctor. They exceeded all of the expectations I needed and was looking for when it came to my pets health and well-being! I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Tate- her passion for animals has always been clear and her knowledge in veterinary medicine impresses me every time I am there- from my cats, to my dogs, to my pet rats, and even my pet squirrel, she never fails to amaze me! She is patient, thorough, confident, and caring- everything I would want when it comes to my pets health. She is an extraordinary surgeon and doctor that I am so thankful I found! I could never imagine taking my pets anywhere else- she is the best in the area and I would highly recommend her! Your pets will thank you too!

Dr. Berk is observant, thorough and is able to explain exactly what is going on and what your options are. We have been to many veterinarians for our 3 legged dog and Dr. Berk is now my favorite. She also has a tendancy to call and follow up...not a receptionist, but herself to find out how your pet is doing. And remembers all my pets names. A super vet.

I'm giving only 2 stars to Troy Veterinary Hospital because at the moment of emergency when my little shitzu was dying, I was told to make an appointment or go to emergency to put him to sleep. This was in the early afternoon on a Monday. I was traveling home from visiting family in New York and my sitter was very distressed. Troy Vet. Hosp. had been treating my little guy for pancreatitis. Before I left his bloodwork showed improvement to the point that I felt comfortable enough to go see my family. It was so distressing to not be able to say my final goodbye, worse yet to have to scramble to figure out where to send my shitzu while traveling through the mountains in Pennsylvania. Shame on Troy Veterinary Hospital for not taking 10 minutes out of their day to put a little dog out of his misery.
