Springfield Veterinary Clinic

Village of Clarkston, Michigan
General Info
Springfield Veterinary Clinic is well-respected in the local pet community for its holistic approach to animal wellness. Every detail of lobby design and exam room acoustics at Springfield Veterinary Clinic in Village of Clarkston is geared toward preventing negative imprinting so companion animals throughout Michigan equate veterinary care with consistent tranquility. The entrance experience is designed to slow down the pace on purpose. Pets can stay in the car if they wish, but they can also use side entrances designated for sensory-sensitive animals. In these low-stimulation environments, animals become familiar with scents as they settle through observation. The testing procedure commences only after the animal has recovered sufficient spatial orientation. Pet owners also describe how their animals behave when they have visitors and what they do to express discomfort at home, which is also taken into consideration when planning the visit. Springfield Veterinary Clinic offers the following services: diagnostic, hydration status, injury tracking, surgical consultation, cardiopulmonary and immune health. The medical rhythm is flexible as treatments can be stopped after diagnostics and restarted later the same day or over several days when imprint risks are high. Additionally, species-specific factors respect memory cues (e.g., cats, senior dogs, and exotics), which are known to retain learned environmental associations. The guidance provided by aftercare places emphasis on homecoming. Identify which resting place to choose, how to use light and scent as calming signals, and what routine changes to make when appetite or mobility temporarily falter. Follow-ups occur via the process of emotional “recalibration,” rather than simple symptom regression. Springfield Veterinary Clinic provides an exclusive familial care experience to Village of Clarkston families and neighboring Michigan communities, which pets bring home, heart, and beyond. The practice provides various services such as Surgery, Behavioral Counseling, Vaccinations, Internal Medicine, and Reptile Care. These services help pets at all stages of life, starting from routine wellness and preventive healthcare to complex medical operations. Pet owners value the team’s expertise and compassionate communication style, as well as the clinic’s ability to articulate medical decisions in a clear and supportive manner. Whether it is senior pet care or an urgent matter, the knowledgeable staff desires to have a close and trusting relationship with each customer by having a steady and consistent team. It also aids in owner education and the implementation of preventive health strategies. Because of the Springfield Veterinary Clinic’s efforts to interact with society, people can have a better basis for being responsible pet owners. Both new and returning clients always rave about the quality of service which is progressive with modern veterinary practice.

Dr Gage clarified the issue below, the SVC does do emergency visits.  We took my injured kitten back to her.  Dr Gage was very kind and compassionate to our kitten, treated the kitten as if it were her own.  Our kitten is now recovering nicely.  We will definitely be going to Dr Gage from now on!!Does not do emergency visits.  We live in Davisburg and my wife and I had just adopted two new kittens.  We took the kittens there for their first appointment.  Everything was great, my wife loved Dr. Gage and the closeness of the office to our house.  A week or so later, one of the kittens hurt his paw and we needed to get into Dr. Gage immediately.  It was then that we learned that there are no emergency services. We had to make an appointment and the first appointment was five days later.  So we found another vet and have switched because we need a full-service veterinarian for our kittens. Read Less

After trying 3 other vets & not being happy I decided to try Springfield vet. I took my sweet Wheaten, Brody yesterday, & nearly cried in the car because I couldn't be happier. I finally found the kind of vet, & vet staff we were looking for. 1. they were all so kind, especially sweet to my baby. 2. Very thurough, in their explanation, & in their care. They made sure Brody had the right medicine for his needs. And made sure to explain exactly why he was getting what he was getting. 3. I was also very impressed by the way they handle billing. No surprises they sat down and explained what every charge was for. It was a great visit and we have found a new vet going back soon to get his teeth cleaned. Highly highly recommend them. You know... I think they should take a class on professionalism. I had an appointment scheduled at 4:30 and the day OF my appointment they called me to see if we could push it back 45 minutes and come in at 3:45, unfortunately since we have jobs the earliest we could go in is 4:15 (only a difference of a HALF HOUR) so they canceled the appointment on us because "something came up." Which shows that for one, it wasn't an emergency considering they were only trying to push it back 45 minutes and for two, they clearly do NOT value their patients time. My life does not revolve around the vets schedule, he works for me and I contribute to his paycheck. We will be taking our dogs somewhere else, this is completely unacceptable in my opinion.Read Less

My name is Lori. I have been taking my Persian cat and my "Teacup" Yorkshire Terrier there ever since they were babies. My cat will be 17 this September. My "Yorkie" passed away yesterday on the way to see Dr. Cunningham. He was 12 years old and, even though he was considered a Teacup Yorkie, He sure didn't weigh like one. He was 8lbs. It has been a very sad day for us. He was our best friend. He was named after the Stanley Cup on the day we bought him. It was April 6th of 1995. I made a deal with god that if I named my Yorkie Stanley, could he let the Detroit Red Wings win the cup that year. Well, anyone that knows hockey and loves it like my husband and I do, also knows we did not win until the next year so, we were stuck with a dog named Stanley, but only for 1 year. I know I am to write how I feel about Dr. Cunningham but, as much as we loved Stanley, he did also. I could not imagine having any other vet for my animals. He has a heart of gold when it comes to animals and he shows it everytime he see's us. I know that everyone, or at least I hope so, feels the same way about their vet. Our cat is also a friend of Dr.Cunninghams. He will also continue to see Dr.C. Since our dog passed away, our cat has looked all over the house for him. He knows Stanley's gone. Cats are very smart. He is so lonely it breaks my heart. So, if anyone from around this areais looking for a veterinarian that will treat their animals as if it were his own, then Dr. Cunningham is the one you are looking for. He is at the corner of Davisburg rd. and Dixie Hwy. The phone# there is (248)625-4144. Dr. Cunningham, if you read this, Thank You and God Bless You. Sincerely, Lori Read Less
