We called when we had a sick Robo hamster, and even though we'd never been there before, they got us in pretty quickly. They were so wonderful with our little and took such good care of her. It seemed silly to fuss over a hamster, but they never treated it as such. They were even conscientious about the cost and didn't try to gouge us. They did a follow up phone call to check on her a couple days later. She's all healed up and back to living a happy hamster life. Great friendly staff and a very nice facility. Read Less

Such a caring and efficient vet hospital! Every tech and vet that we have encountered at Warren Woods actually cares about our animals and makes sure we are well taken care of. They take the time to explain any concerns and how we should handle it, and even discuss the financial aspect of the care (because we all know vet care can get pricey). Honestly, I am disappointed. The doctor never introduced herself. No handshake. No "Hi, how are you?" Nothing. To this day, I do not know her name. The service provided -- the draining of an ear flap hematoma -- was as costly here as the full surgery with anesthetic and sutures will be at my regular vet. After $281, the drained ear filled right back up the next day. I knew this was a possibility, but if surgery would have been the best way to go and the most cost effective, I would have liked someone to have taken the stand and said so. I count on my vet to guide me in the right choices for my pet because they are the expert and know things that I cannot possibly know. When I called back to see about the cost of getting it drained again or having surgery, the costs were astronomical. Another $150 just to have it drained again (pointless -- knowing it doesn't work, why would this even be an option?) or God knows how much more to anesthetize, do surgery and suture him up afterward. What bothers me the most is that they did the procedure knowing there was a better choice, and knowing that I would be back paying more for another procedure shortly, due to the nature of the injury. It feels dishonest.I will say that the building was clean and the staff was very friendly. That alone, however, is not enough to bring me back. Read Less

I was terrified of finding a new vet for my cat. I'm the cat-mom that needs people who will love my animal as much as I do, even if it's not their own. I had that with our previous vet, so I was hoping desperately that this place had what I needed to feel comfortable for my baby. I read all of the online reviews, brushed up on their own webpage before seeing it; a man 4 years ago, Dave, left a review that touched my heart. Losing a pet is horrible, and thinking you're losing your pet, regardless of the outcome, is gut-curdling. Dave said that the staff had stayed an addition hour past their closing time so that he could say goodbye. Long story short, Dave you were right about them, and I thank you for it. We had a wonderful experience. The Dr was very forthcoming and informative, and the other staff members were kind and complimentive towards my cat. I was comfortable, and so was he; overall that is what mattered most. I will be bringing him here for hopefully the rest of our lives together. Read Less

I decided to switch vets after two unpleasant experiences from my previous two vets. It wasn't because they weren't good veterinary hospitals, it was because of the way my stubborn 4 year old Labradoodle was handled by the techs and the doctors. I checked out WWVH on Yelp and Facebook and saw all the great reviews. I decided to try them and I am so happy that I did! What impressed me the most was the PATIENCE the techs and doctor showed her because she is a very difficult dog when it comes to vet visits. Dr. V went step by step to calm her so she could be examined properly and treated accordingly. Since our visit, my dog is SO much better from taking the CORRECT medication for her condition. That is because they were patient with her instead of being frustrated with her. Dogs pick up on emotions and body language. In conclusion, I give WWVH 5 stars!!!Read Less

I have 3 parrots that I live with and 3 dogs that the parrots allow to live with them also. Dr. VandeGrift has been seeing my dogs since May 2015. We have an 8 yr old mix female that is very healthy and friendly. She is the easy one, she hasn't met a stranger yet. We have Rottweiller brothers that are as different as day & night, except they are both fearful. Rocco and Giacomo are protective and fearful, labeled as a bite threat at the previous vets office. The first visit with Dr. VandeGrift Rocco was put at ease within 5 minutes. She let him take time to check her scent and mannerisms. Evidentially Rocco approved her and is now best friends. He even submitted to her and laid on the floor for her and for his scratches. The visit was so pleasant for me, Rocco and Doctor. Giacomo a bit more friendly but still wary, immediately liked Dr. VandeGrift. He was giving kisses, laid down and relaxed even for his temperature to be taken! Dr. VandeGrift spent what I thought was a long time with my family and was very comfortable. My two Rotties were at ease and relaxed. I was pleasantly surprised. They were given an extensive health check and yearly inoculations without incident. A month after our first appointment Giacomo was having trouble with itchy ears and eyes had a lot of matter, red and irritated. We both thought allergies. He was treated with a shot and medications for possible eye infection, ear wash and allergy medications for 3 weeks. His symptoms had not improved or worsened. Something unusual was happening! His nose had turned white, his eye lids pink, his lips, gums and roof of his mouth was pink. Now previously they were black. She looked him over we talked and decided he wasn't having allergies. He was developing symptoms of something else. Just to be sure we took pictures. She consulted a veterinary dermatologist and they both agreed. Giacomo was having the first symptoms of Vitiligo. Yes what has been called Michael Jackson Disease. He was going to lose pigment of skin. His fur also was going to turn white as the driven snow. The extent of his loss of pigment can not be predetermined. Dr. VandeGrift took time to explain and reassure my husband and I that it will have no health threat. Much to our relief, this is a disease of the pigment cells only. He will stay healthy. I know this is a long testimonial. I feel Doctor diagnosed at a very early stage with no more than 2 specific symptoms, a rare and unusual ailment. I do not think the previous Vet would have been able to catch this so readily and accurately. Thank you Dr. VandeGrift for your Rottie love and your expertise and instinct to make us feel he has had nothing but the best care ever. BTW. He is so cute now. I'll post a picture on your wall. He looks like a reverse Dalmation. Or a Rottie caught in a beautiful large blizzard. He is beautiful.Read Less

If I could give 0 stars I would. This Animal Clinic is not equipped to handle large breed dogs. My 100lb puppy needed to have a cyst removed from his neck and he did not want to cooperate with the sheers so they decided to give him an anesthetic right there in the office room with us. They stuck him with a needle and told us to just watch him until he collapses. It was the most horrifying experience of my life. We had to watch him while he stumbled, bumped his head on the wall and eventually keeled over. He laid there on the cold floor with his tongue hanging out of his mouth looking lifeless.  Then when it was time to wake him - which was too soon, but the practice was closing and the tech had to get to a "church function"...an assistant sat on the ground with him and gently rubbed and tapped on his head until he awoke. When he did he became hostile and vicious. He was scared out of his mind and even wanted to bite me. They had to drag him to my car while he was barking and growling. I love him to death, but I was scared to even drive home with him. We had to lock him in his cage when we got home until he slept it of. Thank God he went back to normal. We should have never gone back after that, but we did :(He then needed an x-ray because he hurt his leg running around. Most big tall dogs end up tearing an CCL at some point. He was scared of them so they put him under again and charged us over $300 for the xray. THEN they told us we had two different options for his surgery. Of course one of the options they did not offer so the doctor proceeded to tell us that it was gruesome and if it were her dog she wouldn't do it because of the horror stories. We took his x-rays to a different vet, chose the "gruesome" option (TPLO) and now our dog is in perfect health! Mind you it cost half of what Warren Woods wanted for the basic lesser surgery! I'm really on the fence with this review. I've been taking my dog and rats to this veterinary hospital for the past 7 years. The staff is super friendly, compassionate, and personal--no complaints there! The facility has also gone through a major renovation this past year and the building looks fantastic. It's cozy, and the minute you step into their office you feel good about bringing your pet there. But here's the problem, it's pretty expensive. I don't expect veterinary bills to be cheap by any means, but you rarely leave this place with a bill under $200. Recently my dog needed surgery to get 3 corn cobs removed from his stomach. They wanted $1500-3000, which left us in tears. We called around, and found a few other places that only asked for half of that cost. Needless to say, we brought my dog to Parkview Animal Hospital. If Warren Woods had cheaper prices, or if I was more wealthy, I wouldn't hesitate to bring my pets back there, because I really liked the staff/facility. But unfortunately, we're BROKE!

The place is clean.  I can't complain about the care of my pets except I feel they really push you to get unnecessary things done. They wanted my cat to get all kinds of tests when if one test came back neg then the next one was unneeded, Things like that for example. Read Less
