Worst excuse of a pet hospital, showed up at 5:30 pm had to wait for my dog to get in at 10:45pm then they proceeded to do absolutely nothing for a hour and half until about midnight when they say they will do something and should take a half hour and we finally left at 2am. 24 hours means you will wait 24 hours. Along with the other reviews that are posted here, I will say that we did have a bit of a wait to get in. However, it is definitely understandable based on how great the care was of Dr. Wilson and how friendly the staff was. Our weight was around one hour and 40 minutes and the estimated weight was around 2 to 3 hours. Once we got a Room for our appointment, we were seen within a reasonable time and I was very happy with the care that Dr. Wilson gave to my dog for the cough and sleepiness that we have been experiencing with him. I will definitely be going back to see Dr. Wilson as the location is great, the facility is clean, and we received great care. Boo boo! If you want a very impersonal visit with tons of rooms & different people everytime you go there and High prices this is the place for you! I personally think if they would just add a conveyor belt system like a production line in a factory, this would best articulate your next visit feeling. Misdiagnosed my dog. Came in with my dog because his right eye was hazy/cloudy. Vet looked at it and said it was just an eye infection and gave him steroid drops. After administration 2 drops and going to bed the next morning my dog's right eye was blue. Called Wilson Vet and told them the situation only to be told to bring my dog back for a reexamination that would cost another $95 which is ridiculous because they clearly misdiagnosed him and seem to only care about making money off of you. Rushed my dog to a different Vet because I do not trust this place anymore and the new Vet performed an eye pressure test on him and concluded he has glaucoma. Thought that I had posted a review for this place 7 months ago and then realized I didn't. My cat had a urinary blockage back in September and needed a P/U surgery. Honestly, the first visit went completely fine and I didn't have any issues with the hospital as we received a room quickly (this hospital, if you make sure to call beforehand, will immediately get you into a room if it is a dire emergency so anyone who is saying that they didn't must not have called) and the doctor was calm and told us what we needed to know. The surgery went fine and they even allowed me to visit my boy the next day to check on him. My two star rating has everything to do with when it was time to bring my boy home. First off, the entire of process of just picking him up took longer than two hours. I was sitting in the general waiting room for about an hour until I was brought into a personal room for a vet tech to go over some details with me but then I was sitting in the room for another hour, waiting for said vet tech. When I was finally fed up as no one had checked on me or told me anything, I went into the hallway and saw two assistants chatting in the hallway and told one of them that they needed to grab me someone so that I could get my cat and leave and she told me there had been an emergency. An emergency, even though they and multiple others were standing around. By this time, I was furious as I simply wanted my cat so we could go home. When the tech finally got into my room I found that I was asking more questions then she was actually giving me answers and the whole process seemed messed up. But, here's where I lost it, I was waiting for ANOTHER 30 minutes at the check out with his new prescription food when a different tech brought out my cat, 2 days after a major surgery, in a cone, NOT IN HIS CARRIER. She literally brought him out, just himself, and tossed him into my arms. I asked where his carrier was and she said she didn't know he had one and went to go look for it as I clung onto my cat to ensure he wouldn't freak out and try to run away. She thought that I had brought my cat to get surgery, into an open clinic with a bunch of dogs and whatever else, without a carrier. That last instance is what broke me of this place. His surgery was definitely cheaper than anywhere else and the doctor did a fine job, but they really need to work on who they hire because it was one of the most unprofessional environments I have ever been in. We took our 1 Year old Jack Russell Terrier rescue in to urgent care for a ripped off toenail, and we got in after only a few minutes, and the doctor took care of it and bandaged him up and we were on our way! This was our first time here, and will be back, in fact we had his records sent over from his previous vet. So, after visiting here I now know why it has some low reviews. I don't think everyone gets the same experience. The nicest people in the place are the greeters at the front desk. They set the illusion that going here is going to be enjoyable. In the lobby I met this older couple who pointed out to me that their dog had the same problem as my dog (cyst growth on foot). So I was satisfied to see their dog not in pain with bandage and a heeling paw. However truth is, my baby only got a small cut and a lot of medication. They said that they were regulars and lived in the area, I did not, and only found this place because it is the quickest walk-in on a Sunday. Yes, despite having to wait for 2 hours most other clinics told me I had a five to six hour wait. After sitting in the cold back room for almost two hours we were finally visited and the vet pinched my dogs growth to see if my dog would welp out, which he did. He took him and then he came back shortly with a small cut line on his growth. If it wasn't going down now it made me wonder if he even took a biopsy to see if it could have been something major. Overall, if you stay in the area and you are a regular, more than likely you'll get the best service, but if not, unless your animal is nearly dying in your arms this isn't the best place to go. Their prices are reasonable it's the service and speed of service that needs more work. Like another reviewer said, this big place and only one vet is ridiculous. Maybe they should shut down other locations and join together for better services. I hate it when a place does this, they seem to be about the money and not about the true care of the animals. Update: My dog finally got his own wound to clear. I remembered them giving him a head cone saying that it was absolutely necessary so that he wouldn't lick the growth. Of course, it's germs in there.... But at some point he had to eat and bath, and the thing kept getting bigger. The moment I took off the cone, he licked. The great (yet disgusting) thing about it, is that him licking the wound helped it reopen and drain the growth. Then this bath medication they gave me helped dry it out more. Nothing worked for weeks until it was drained... Interesting... If only I had gone to a vet that drained and informed me of such.... Practically disappeared after a month. Read Less

Haven't been too impressed so far. Made an appt. for a follow up complete CBC and also keep well physical while I was there...I live an hour away.... What I received was blood work only on ALT liver enzymes and a vet that wasn't too interested in my pet...no physical was performed. This was my second visit there and I'm not sure I will return. Absolutely the best vet clinic in the world. Their vets are highly educated and very compassionate. I have been going here for 20 years. Dr Wilson is the top vet surgeon around. He has operated on all my dogs with great success. I have always been very pleased with Dr. Wilson. Dr. Kerby is the emergency vet at night time. There is no better ER vet. Every time I bring a dog in at night Dr. Kerby diagnosis the problem and my dog is better the next morning. I probably have had at least 10 emergencies over the years and each time I was totally satisfied. I drive 20 miles one way to come to Romeo and it is worth it. I know my dogs will receive the best care from the best vets. The prices are better than any other vet clinic around. They only perform necessary procedures. They use the latest test technology so you get the best results from the tests. The staff is very friendly. They call you the next day to ask how your dog is doing. I have recommended this clinic to numerous people over the years and every one was pleased. Some of them drive over 2 hours to see Dr. Wilson. I have know people that have come from other states. My dog had knee surgery here a couple years ago, and now the last two vets I've been to have said that the surgery looks botched and think that it will need to be redone. Very upset that we spent so much to fix my dogs torn ACL (and we didn't go the cheaper route - we went full TPLO) and now we are back to square one with him. Now we can't take him on walks more than a block because he ends up in so much pain, and he's not even five. This place came VERY recommended, but unfortunately it did not work in our favor. I called Wilson's earlier this afternoon and was told my puppy who is sick could get an ultrasound if I were to bring him in. I get there and I'm told, NO, the don't do walk in ultrasounds and he would have to be hospitalized and the first available time should be within the next 48 hours! To make matters worse, I let them draw blood, and I think they dumped half of the alcohol bottle on him, his entire one side of his neck and leg was dretched! When the doctor took his rectal temperature he cried in pain! I have owned dogs for over 30 years and this is the first time I have ever had a dog cry! Wilson won me over the moment I heard they take care of exotics like Ferrets. First, when my beloved Molly developed a tumor on her ear, they removed it next day, and it was a third the cost of other vets I had seen. They were gentle with her, and knowledgeable about her and her conditions. They were also the first vets that she didn't bite. So that goes to show you her judgement. More importantly, my recent visit was hard. It was the day I had to put my beloved ferret down. Not only did they do a quality of life check with her, to help reassure me, but they were able to let me be with her when she passed. The empathy I received from the staff was so moving. She mattered to them. Our family mattered to them. It was reflected that day in the conversations, the care they took, and the tears they shared, and it was reflected today when I received a sympathy card with personalized messages from the staff written inside. Nobody has a clue as to what is going on here. My girlfriend has been told three different things by three different people. Nobody seems to communicate with anybody. The service and care that has been provided here has gone way down, yet the prices haven't. Why pay so much for the worst care? You have to decide that. I drive about 45 minutes to get to the Romeo office. I have been going there for about 18 yrs now! While there are certain vets I prefer more than others....all are good! They take excellent care of you and your pet! They are open 24/7 and I have made MANY late night runs there! The costs for everything are VERY reasonable! Just like at a doctors office, vets often lose their humanity as well. It's as though they think that they are amazing people because they choose to help animals and that we are blessed to be in the presence. Especially the techs and front desk employees. It's nearly impossible to get passed these folks if they do not deem your question(s) appropriate to pass on. This vet is becoming too large and losing the luster it once had. I give it 2 stars because the vets themselves are not bad, it's all the support staff they have. I don't think these reviews matter to them anyways because they are too big to care. Read Less

I recently changed vets to Wilson and have been very happy. I liken it to an urgent care. Yes, you will likely wait a bit, but that's because it's walk in and you go when it's convenient for you or when you have an urgent need. The people have always been friendly and explain everything. my dog needed stitches and was in pain, we got to the emergency section at 8pm waited until 9:30 pm to finally be seen by the vet. Not to mention my dog had cuts everywhere on his lower body & 2 MAJOR cuts that went all the way through. they decided to keep him over night... it is now 4 am .
