I am always pleased with the service; their professionalism, compassion and good humor. I believe the prices to be comparable to other clinics. For me, it’s the service that sets them apart. I've been taking my dogs here for several years. I can't say enough about how wonderful it is. The entire staff is wonderful. They are caring and they've always been flexible if I needed to come in for emergencies. Dr. Dyer even took my pup home to care for him for a few days. All the staff is very helpful and friendly. They explain all options and pricing to help you make the best decisions for you fur babies. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and they are the only vet that we've ever been to that actually takes you in at the time of your appointment rather than spending time waiting around in the lobby for a half an hour. I absolutely love Family Pet Practice. Going to the vet used to be a dreadful experience. I secretly think my dog, Blade, enjoys going. Blade works with Dr. Richards and Stacey who give him so much love and attention. Blade is a big dog who wants to be a lap dog and they never appear irritated by him rolling all over them and covering them with kisses and/or drool. Blade can be a lot to handle and they are both exceptional. Even after visits, they call to check on Blade to ensure he is doing better. I have had experiences from a previous vet where I had no clue what the costs would be by the time I got to checking out. However, Family Pet Practice always provides me with a list of treatment options with prices before anything is given or provided. Brooke and Mary Ann are amazing as well! They are always so helpful and provide me with great recommendations. My work schedule fluctuates and they are so patient with me setting up appointments. Also, Blade is not too good with other dogs and they always make the safety of all dogs a priority! I am very impressed with how much work and service all staff at Family Pet Practice provide not only during visits but before and after visits as well. They use the latest technology for confirming appointnents and have taken a stand for going green with a jump drive of educational materials as opposed to lots of papers. AWESOME VET!!! We found them at the Waterford Business Expo 2 years ago but since I didn't have a dog I filed the info in my "someday" file. Well we got a puppy last week and just like the expo everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Needless to say it was Ellie my 7 week old pup who they really loved on. I love this vet. I trust their knowledge, they are compassionate and they are friendly to both the pets and people. I'm fortunate enough to live right near them. I have been going to Family Pet Practice for more than 15 years. I guess it would be 4 dogs and a cats worth of time. They are a very caring vet and my response to the comment below that all they care about is money is so off base. Let me tell you my story. My new puppy, Dingo, swallowed a needle and I rushed him to what was then, Lake Geneva Family Pet Practice, I was frantic, freaking out, crying. The office staff was so supportive and calming to me. They took x-rays of Dingo's stomach and confirmed there was a needle in his belly. It was too large for him to pass and had to come out. Dr. Dyer gave me my options; she could operate immediately or she would refer me to a specialist in Canton that could scope his stomach and pull the needle out without cutting him. I opted for the scope because I really didn't want to cut my babies stomach open. She sent me on my way and sent ahead my x-rays and bloodwork so they would be all ready when we got there. Long story short, they couldn't scope it out (only the 2nd time he couldn't do it) and had to operate. I was sent on my way a couple of hours later and said that he was paid through Lake Geneva, and that I had to settle up with Dr. Dyer in the morning. When I went back in the morning to pay, they were so concerned for Dingo and glad that he was okay. When I asked them what the damage was, Dr. Dyer informed me that she would normally mark up the surgery so her office would make a profit, but she didn't. She charged me exactly what the speiciaist charged her. I couldn't believe it. So for any of you who think that Family Pet Practice is just out for the money, I wholeheartedly disagree with you. Go to this vet, you will not be disappointed. I forgot to mention, I moved to Clarkston 6 years ago, and still dirve back to Waterford (more than 10 miles one way) to go to Family Pet Practice. I have another vet office literally a stones through from my house, but the service I get here is worth the drive.Read Less

I called to schedule a teeth cleaning for my cat. The woman was very reluctant to answer questions on the pricing. She told me that it wasn't going to matter if I was price checking for this procedure. She was so upset that I wanted an idea of the cost that she hung up on me. The next place I called in waterford was very thorough and happy to answer questions AND less expensive and reputable.
