Great vets! You know Doctor Steve is an animal lover, when he picks up your dog, cuddles him and give him several kisses on the head! And the rest of the staff just rocks! I have never felt anything less than the wonderful feeling of knowing that my cat is in the hands of people who treat him as if he is their own. I also love how the vet will always read over the preferred treatment for my cat and the prices of each treatment before he/she even starts to do anything. I can't even begin to get into how amazing our one experience was here. Everyone from the receptionist Matt, to the vet herself, Dr. Charney was so helpful, kind and professional. Though we were not regular patients here, they took our wounded Great Dane in at 4:30 on a Saturday. They could have easily turned us away and recommended us to an emergency care that probably would have cost us triple the amount of money. Very helpful and friendly! When I took my little dog in originally it was to get his shots. He is old and blind(poor baby). He also had very bad breath. It had been getting progressively worse. I had been taking him to another place for his shots, etc. Every time I would ask about his breath and they would tell me he needed his teeth cleaned and some pulled. There cost was apprx. $1000, but no other help for him. The very first visit to Healthy Paws he was prescribed an antibiotic for the infection for the infection in his mouth. Within 3 days no more bad breath. The price for the cleaning and extractions is considerably less. Now my husband and I are saving to have this done so he will be more comfortable. Front desk staff was too busy talking too each other about weekend plans to listen to anything i said about my fur baby. Asked me questions i just told them the answer to five minutes prior but didnt hear the answer because they were not listening. Transferred old records over for my pup and they still wrote the wrong heartworm prevention prescription regardless of the fact that it said the correct one on previous records. We got our puppy from "Westland food and co" and the doctor from here went there to take care of the puppy, then after we bough him, we continued to take him to this veterinary office. This place is set up so we'll! It's very clean, friendly, and all the staff and doctors are so nice and helpful. Their pricing is not bad eaither. I highly recommend you bring your fur babies here! Finally able to see Dr. STEVE for my anxious gsd dog. He did a wonderful job understanding my issues and helping to fix the problem. He assisted with my Rott when he had bone cancer. Eventually putting him to sleep. I also have a puppy pit bull that is seen at the facility, sees another vet which is also helpful. I enjoy and appreciate the wonderful staff. I have been taking my pet Dr. Steve and Healthy Paws since 2005. The staff is very kind, professional, and knowledgeable. I love the facility in Westland. They also have a facility in Belleville. With the two facilities not far from me it makes taking care of pets health needs more convenient for times I am available. I would recommend this to and have recommended it to family and friends. The best place for your animal! Dr. Steve has built a great care center. Steve and his staff are professional and caring. The network of Doctors he has brought in is top notch. I always feel comfortable with their care and handling our dogs. From Doctor visits to boarding to grooming to puppy classes, we've done it all and are beyond satisfied with this awesome place! Any issues I've ever had have always been treated with importance and professionally. Sure there are Vets that are cheaper but I wouldn't trust anyone else with my dogs health than Healthy Paws. I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Steve and his staff 10+ years and they have always been amazing! They are in this field of work because they truly care. I recently brought my 12 year old Lab in for vestibular issues, head tilt, stumbling, decreased appetite and lethargy. Given her age I knew the news may not be good. The staff took amazing care of her while performing the tests they needed too. The doctor was able to determine it could be something as simple as an inner ear infection or worst case was a brain tumor. We were able treat her with meds in the chance that is was in inner ear infection and follow up with the doctor should she get worse instead of better. Fortunately she improved with medications so we knew it was not a tumor. During the whole process the doctor was available to answer any questions we had and explain everything to us. Brought my 14year old dog on 12/5 @ 630pm in with a ruptured mass on his leg. I brought my mother and sister with me afraid that we would have to put him down due to the severity of the cut and blood loss. The girl said he need surgery to remove the mass. Due to his age we decided against it since it may not work. She convinced us that cauturization would be the next option to stop the bleeding. She made it sound like it would fix the issue for now and give him longer. The next morning we unwrapped his leg and after having to cut his fur off bc the tape was applied directly to his fur we noticed the cut wasn't looking very good and was still bleeding. He was cauterized,given an injection of antibiotics, bandaged and 2 pills (pain meds. And antibiotics). It was almost $100 visit but I was confident the lady helped us make the right decision. When I arrived home 12/6 @630pm and took the wrap off to check it and rewrap the wound. It looked very swollen and infected. I called the vet to get him back in and see what was wrong. I spoke with Matt and after some back and forth on the phone scheduled an appointment for today 12/7 at 830am with Dr. Lamb and she explained that cauturization would have never fixed the problem and after awhile that even surgery was even a risk due to age. I just had to put my dog to sleep and spend another $157. Doctor Steve refused to do anything more besides wave a 20 visit fee yet if they would have given me the news that there was no other option besides putting him to sleep I wouldnt have had to come back. Empathetic, loving people. I had to take my cat there to have her put to sleep and everyone from the counter to the back were just phenomenal loving people. Their place was very clean and up to date.
