I adopted a ferret from a friend who was clearly sick. I loved the little girl, Trixie, very much, and asked the local ferret shelter to recommend a good vet as ferret vets are few and far between. I was recommended Dr. Vincent at the AMC of Wyoming. I brought my little girl there, and Dr. Vincent was very knowledgeable about ferrets, and ferret illnesses. Dr. Vincent was able to diagnosis Trixie with Adrenal Disease, which is exactly what I feared it was. Dr. Vincent explained the disease with me, and the treatment options, one of which was monthly injections for the rest of her life. I opted for the injections, and ended up bringing Trixie in once a month for an injection for around a year, which means I saw quite a bit of Dr. Vincent and the staff. Everyone is very friendly, and they all seemed to genuinely enjoy working with animals. Unfortunately Trixie's disease was very advanced and after about a year she was not doing well. She ended up needing an ultrasound, and I was allowed in the room with her to comfort her, and see what Dr. Vincent saw. Trixie ended up having a very large tumor on her right adrenal gland, and Dr. Vincent informed me that she did not have the necessary tools to perform the surgery that Trixie needed, and that unfortunately she did not know of any vets who did have the tools. Once again I contacted the shelter and asked if they knew of any vets who might be able to perform the surgery and I was recommended another vet on the other side of town. I contacted Dr. Vincent, and explained the situation and she had the front desk get my Trixie's medical records right away, and stated that she hoped the other vet could do something about Trixie, and to keep her informed on what was going on. The other vet looked at Trixie's medical history, and the ultrasound pictures, and told me that Dr. Vincent had done an excellent job, and that her notes were very good. Unfortunately she could not do anything to help Trixie either, and by this time she was not doing well at all, she was given a few days to live at the most. I opted to have Trixie put to rest right then and there. When I called Dr. Vincent to inform her she expressed sincere regret, and about a week later I received a card from them with their condolences. Trixie was not put down at AMC of Wyoming, so I am not sure how they handle it, but I can assume from the rest of my experience there that it is handled very well.I now have another sweet little ferret named Zena, and I take her to Dr. Vincent. I recommend AMC of Wyoming to everyone that I know who is in need of a vet. I have been very impressed with the clinic and the staff, and especially Dr. Vincent. She has even personally called me a few days after a visit to check in on how my girls were doing. Read Less
