What an awesome experience! I am new to the Ann Arbor area, so I had to find a new vet when my kitty started limping pretty bad. The staff is amazing. I took him in for an all day appointment and they were very good about making sure he was comfortable. They asked what he would like or what would make him scared. Dr. Eberly called to give me a detailed analysis after his exam. She also wrote out a nice summary of his exam for me to take home. She also promptly emailed me the next day to give me test results and go over treatment of his arthritis. The vet tech was very sweet and gave me an excellent demonstration on how to give my kitty his meds. The women in the front reception were also all awesome and friendly. My cat is my baby. He's very important to me and they made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole experience. Their prices are a little higher than I am used to (it's Ann Arbor, right?), but honestly, with the care, it's totally worth it. Thanks so much! Read Less

Love coming here. The staff is thorough and explains everything. Puppy loves seeing the doc! --1 year later-- Pup just went in for his big boy exam yesterday to get his updated rabies and annual physical exam. I really don't understand how people have had bad experiences here however after reading some of their comments I can understand why they don't understand based on their attitudes and dogmatic arguments... Regardless, this staff has been like a family through and through. Whenever we've had puppy concerns the staff has been so helpful in making sure the pup is going to be better. Both vets are very open with their own pet-lives and have shared insight from those experiences such as putting down their aging friends and also the joys of adopting a new dog. They really take time to connect with you and your pet; yesterday she was on the floor with him examining his heart rate. I see true love from them. I've never had a contradiction with their advice and trust them completely. They still call after our appts to make sure he is doing fine from whatever procedure was performed. He still loves going to the vet which is so funny! When we walk by he tries to pull me to the building to go inside, even during after-hours when no one is there. Go here and you'll find a family that will care for your baby like you deserve. --4 years later-- Everything I had written is still true, but compounded with even more love. Pup is 4 years old now and still loves going to the vet. Every trip is so great and we feel so cared for. The docs know us well and we feel more like family every time we go. Growing up with these docs has allowed us to maintain consistency in the babies' profiles and continue to deepen our trust with them. So much so, that when we moved from Ann Arbor to metro-Detroit we continue to make the trek back for our appointments. Worth the 40 minute drive. Every. Time. We love WVH! Read Less

I moved to Ann Arbor with my shepherd mix who's only vet had been a close family friend I grew up calling "Uncle Mike." Stella is a regular at the vet's office because she has Addison's disease, which leaves her prone to other issues. Stella loves the staff at WVH and is completely comfortable there. The front office has always been super friendly and helpful when we need prescriptions called in to the compounding pharmacy or receipts emailed for insurance claims. It is also the cleanest vet's office I've been in (I also go to others volunteering with a rescue) which is much appreciated because I'm allergic to cats. Read Less

The vets and staff truly care about our pets, they treat them like their own and they take care to explain everything to make sure we understand what's going on. They were able to diagnose and successfully treat our cat's irritable bowel syndrome, something that no other vet over the course of a decade was able to do. He's doing great now thanks to some medicine and the right food; his weight is health again (he'd gotten really skinny from vomiting so much in the few months before we switched to the clinic here), and overall we couldn't be happier with the care we receive here.Read Less

After researching extensively which veterinary practice to transfer my two dogs to after moving to the Ann Arbor area, I thought Washtenaw Veterinary Hospital would be a good fit. Unfortunately I wasn't given the opportunity to find out if their service was good or not. I scheduled a first appointment for both of my dogs for this morning, but the staff member that scheduled the appointment with me over the phone apparently didn't write it down anywhere, so they didn't have it in their system.Mistakes happen, and normally I am a very understanding person when it comes to things like this, but the way this mistake was handled was absurd. When I first arrived they didn't ask for my name; instead they just asked if I was a new patient and if I'd had a chance to fill out their paperwork online. When I said no, they handed me the clipboard and had me start filling everything out (again, without asking my name or the names of my dogs). I sat down balancing two dogs, filling out the paperwork, all the while with other dogs in the waiting area--not the easiest task. When I was almost finished with everything they finally asked who I was, and when my appointment was scheduled. I had already been there for 10-15 minutes at this point. When I replied they immediately told me that I must be at the wrong veterinary clinic, or that I didn't call to make an appointment. Without an apology, without further looking into their scheduling system they immediately blamed me. Then asked if I wanted to reschedule for another day because they couldn't see my dogs today. Why would I want to reschedule an appointment for two dogs at a place that treats their new patients like they are morons, and who's to say the next time I came in they would actually have the appointment in their books? This place may have a great veterinarian, and the facility is beautiful--but if getting in the door is this much of a hassle the first go around it might not be worth it. Dr. Eberly and staff are simply amazing. We rescued an English Bulldog that was in rough shape and WVH worked with us to nurse this sweet thing back to health, this was a challenge since the bully was 9 years old. The bulldog made great strides and looked amazing and was a fun, happy dog. This recovery had a lot to do with effort and care she received there.WVH was there for the end too. The compassion and care that they showed our dog, my wife and I speaks to what a classy operation and commitment to patient care they have. I'm new to Ann Arbor and when my cat stopped eating because of pain, I worried about finding a quality new vet that wouldn't blow through my wallet. Based on the Yelp reviews for this clinic, I made an appointment and crossed my fingers. BEST VET EVER. I've had great experiences with veterinarians and this is still the best yet. The offices feel welcoming and crisp. Every interaction with the staff has been warm and generous. Most of all, I felt completely sure that they knew what they were talking about and could be trusted. Dr. Eberly quickly identified what was wrong with my cat, despite my cat not being a very cooperative patient. Everyone was patient and thoroughly answered my many questions when my cat came back for advanced dental work and they had to pull a lot of teeth. I doubt this is the cheapest ticket in town for pet care, but the prices were reasonable compared to my previous vets, and the value delivered is incredible. Dr. Eberly and Trish were very compassionate and knowledgeable. We're locked in as clients for as long as we live in Ann Arbor. Read Less

Washtenaw Veterinary Hospital is really great. I have had quite a few vets in the past because I move so often and I really believe WVH offers some of the best care I have seen. I have an aging pitbull who has some knee troubles and is a little bashful at the vet, but they were patient yet thorough. Another benefit is they did not sedate the dog for X-rays which other vets have insisted on in the past. They also did not recommend tests and procedures that I felt were unnecessary and costly which my last vet would have. I found the overall cost to be reasonable and very much appreciated their willingness to give me a weeks worth of meds to try before making me buy a whole prescription. A dog visit and an x-ray was around $120.  My vet seems to really care that we find the right solution and understands that an older dog has different needs than a brand new one. Read Less

We had only lived in Ann Arbor for a year when our 12 year old cocker spaniel became ill. We had not yet established a vet for her in Michigan and went to Yelp for recommendations. By the other reviews, Washtenaw Veterinary Hospital seemed like a great fit and we were confident with our selection from the moment we called to make the appointment. We met the staff under unfortunate terms -- Louise was dying. But given the circumstances, we could not have had a more compassionate experience. They squeezed us in before the weekend (the day after the 4th of July). Dr. Parnell was visiting that day and, along with the regular staff, she helped to make that unbearable day bearable. Shortly after Louise passed, we received a very thoughtful card in the mail and also a notice from the Arbor Day Foundation -- they had received a donation and planted a tree as a living monument to Louise. Since that first visit, we have seen Dr. Danskin, Dr. Eberly, Amy, Trish, Terri and Courtney every month. They have been there every step of the way with our new puppy, Edgar, and we cannot give any higher recommendations for their staff, their clinic and the quality of their services. Read Less

DR. EBERLY IS AMAZING!!! Am I yelling, or did my caps lock stage a keyboard coup? You decide. Dr. Eberly is the best vet we've ever had, and she's the third we've tried in Ann Arbor alone. She is competent, knowledgeable, and kind, and the facilities are top notch. The prices are surprisingly low compared with other vets. [As an aside, I don't know where vet pricing comes from and how there can be such a difference, but our other vet charged us for calling them on the phone when we showed up for our next visit, a visit that was a follow-up they asked us to make. Really? We ask you about an ongoing case, and you charge us for a "phone consultation" of several minutes? The vet herself was nice, but the office practices were cagey.] We stuck it out until our old vet left town and then were lucky to get a gushing recommendation to check out Dr. Eberly. Thank goodness we did. If you are a strictly medicine person, she can handle that. If you are open to more holistic approaches--and by holistic, I mean diet, supplements, and other non-unicorn related approaches--she can improve the whole quality of life for your pet (and therefore your quality of life as well). If you need to read more, a few specifics about one of our dogs include senior, bladder tumor, arthritis, and another vet who was not only doom and gloom, but also did a test we later found out could have been harmful. Oh, and she offered a $300 ultrasound as the next step. Dr. Eberly did the ultrasound for well under $100 with a portable machine right in the room with us, gave us a care plan and prescription. On top of everything, the office staff is very accommodating with appointments and rescheduling (even repeated ones). There is a another vet (very nice and competent as well) that works Monday and will see your pet, even if Dr. Eberly is your regular doctor. So, a little unsure about your vet? A little unsure about what the office charges you? Just want to go to a vet's office that's so nice it actually has a working fireplace and that dogs think is a chalet? Look no further. Read Less

So much so, that when we moved from Ann Arbor to metro-Detroit we continue to make the trek back for our appointments. Worth the 40 minute drive. Every. Time. We love WVH! Read Less

Dr. Crystal Eberly has been taking care of our foxhound for 2.5 years now. She is kind, caring, compassionate and thoughtful in her decision-making. Our dog has anxiety and does not particularly enjoy the vet. She handles him with confidence and grace, which puts us at ease. She is careful to consider each possible option when approaching care, and always suggests the least intrusive and most cost-effective option. I would recommend Dr. Eberly and her team at Washtenaw Veterinary Hospital to any friend or family member.

Every vet hospital should strive to deliver at the level WVH does.. You're kidding yourself if you think you'll find somewhere better in the Ann Arbor area.Thank you Dr. Eberly and staff! Read Less

Read Less
