We had to bring our puppy in for a check up and shots. The first appointment I was slightly irritated when I left due to what my bill ended up being but I brushed it off and scheduled his booster shot. I go in last Friday for his booster shot, which takes no longer then 2 minutes to have it done and they tell me my total and I lost it!! They charge you a office call fee of $21.00 for the not even 2 minutes the vet tech has your dog to give them the injections and also the injection fee. Now, I am all for the best care of my dog and do not mind spending money if I am aware of what I will be spending. Before I decided to take my little fur ball here, I called and got pricing of everything and found them to be very reasonable. I was specifically told that the times we would bring him in for boosters we would only have the injection fee, that obviously was not accurate and when I brought this to the front desk of what I was told all I was told was sorry and that there was nothing on my file that stated this. I do not like when I feel as though there are "hidden" fees and costs are just dropped on me. Due to this, I cancelled the other appointments we had set up and found a different vet office. I will also not be referring anyone here. The only positive review I have is the office staff are nice. Read Less

I adopted a cat who was a rescue cat from Tennessee. I named her Lilly and she is about 1 1/2 years. We discovered she had some health and behavior issues. She became ill 2 days after coming home. My regular vet said they couldn't see her for 4 days, due to scheduling and said I could bring her in as an emergency. That would have cost a fortune! I didn't want her to have to wait, so I found and called Pet Nation. They fit her in so she would not have to wait another day in pain. Dr. Sue Nation was gentle and thorough during Lilly's exam. Answering all my questions. Pet Nation has been there for Lilly and me! Dr. Nation got her health back on track and has been helping us with her behavior problems. Dr. Sue has personally been in contact with me almost everyday, to make sure Lilly is well and that everything is working out okay. She is so dedicated to her patients! I'm so glad we found her! My dog was limping and we took him to the U of M urgent care (everything nearby was closed since it was Sunday) and they suggested it was just a shoulder injury. Things got worse and I am so thankful that we have been taking him to Pet Nation. They got him in immediately but originally were unable to find a cause to his illness. After taking extra tests and a few extra visits Dr. Marie Nation was able to pin point a rare illness. Once we found out what was wrong, we were able to start treatment. Marie is always checking in on us to see how he is doing. All of the staff remember my dog every time we are in and are genuine and truly love the animals. Sure, it is a little pricey, but you are paying for an amazing service. I would strongly recommend going to Pet Nation. Read Less

I have been with Pet Nation for 12 years. During that time my cats have had the best of care. Twice Dr. Lewis has saved my Tigger's life. The first time I brought him in 10 minutes before closing and she performed emergency surgery. He was only a couple hours from death. Then Dr. Nation stayed with him late until he was stable. I review pet nation with mixed results. I think they are very caring as they have cared for my cat and my dog for over 2 years. But after bringing my dog there over the past year because of ear issues and yearly shots, I had a much different view of their office. Over the holidays my daughter had said my dog had eaten something plastic, of course I was worried as he had thrown up 2 times over the course of 2 days and so I brought him in, they said we need x rays, so I said okay. The x rays as I learned do not show anything plastic, so out the door went almost 250.00 with office visit. Then they recommened surgery that day for the cost of 1500.00 which I denied, my dog ended up being fine. The next set of events made me switch vet clinics, as I called in and said my dog had another ear infection after being treated in there office just the weeks prior for the cost of almost 200.00 and I was upset and not understanding why they could not give me a in home solution to treat my dogs ear, as I was getting sick of spending 170.00-200.00 per visit, Dr nation ended up calling me and saying she did not like my tone and said I should look into re homing my dog if I couldn't afford the care for him. I felt very offended and told her I feel she cares more about money than my dogs ear condition. My dog ear problems have cleared up since switching to another vet office Read Less

I have been taking my pets to Pet Nation since the clinic opened it's doors. My husband and I met Dr. Nation while she was a student at the University of Minnesota Veterinary School. Because of the care and concern she showed our dog, who was in intensive care at the U, and how she interacted with us, we made the decision to follow her wherever her practice took her. She has been with us through the excitement of adopting a new family member and the pain and sorrow upon the death of a beloved pet and every stage in between. I have, also, had pets seen by Dr. Lewis. Both doctors are professional yet personable. They have  listened to me as I shared any concerns about my pet or had questions. They seek the advice of specialists when the situation is beyond the scope of their practice which I respect. The techs are equally knowledgeable and experienced. Going to the clinic is about the same as visiting family, they care about me and my pets. Read Less

Pet Nation is wonderful. Our cats are challenging patients, to say the least, but they are always handled with care and consideration. Dr.s Tonya & Marie truly care about animals and have treated our cats like they were parts of their family, rather than their patients. Prices are reasonable, honest and fair. No hidden charges, no unapproved services...plus, coupons! They just exhibit a commitment to quality and improving the lives of the animals under their care. They're also not afraid to provide referrals to other vets when they've really done all they could. I would especially like to recommend Pet Nation to cat parents, who will know exactly what I mean when I say Pet Nation understands cats and what it takes to work with them. We first came to Dr. Nation's over the summer when our regular vet didn't have Saturday office hours. By the middle of that visit, we knew we'd be switching to Dr. Nation full time with all of our companion animals (we had 5 at the time; one has since needed to be euthanized and Dr. Nation could not have been more compassionate during this difficult process). The Facility: In an unassuming little building located just down the road from the Albertville Outlet Mall, the office is warm and inviting. No harsh fluorescent lighting and busy waiting rooms. The examining rooms are cheery with a padded bench for you (or your animal) to sit on while you wait. The Staff: Often, doctors can be good whereas the staff is disappointing. Not so in this case. All of the staff people with whom we've interacted have been top-notch--friendly, knowledgeable, proficient, and helpful. Melissa, especially (she seems to always be there!) is just great.Dr. Nation: She truly loves animals. You can tell. She treats each one as an individual, unique and worthy of respect (yes, you can respect animals) and takes plenty of time to get to know them. Often, with our dogs, instead of having them get on the examining table (which makes many dogs nervous) she will instead sit on the floor with them. They LOVE her! She hands out plenty of treats and gives the animals time to get to know and trust her. We have never once felt rushed in her office (rather unusual for any doctor). In Addition: We had a foster dog who needed immediate emergency care. Dr. Nation not only got her in ASAP, but actually took the dog home with her overnight so that she could keep an eye on her. On her anniversary. And didn't charge us. If that's not above and beyond, I don't know what is Read Less

Heartworm prevention appointment this spring 2016 for a 26lb dog costs $191 !! The actual 6 pills cost $42 rest was to see the Vet, annual checkup which you need to get heartworm prevention. I was shocked. Will have to look for a more reasonably priced vet. They are very caring towards the animals, but priced to high. Glad I didn't bring my other dog in also. Read Less

Marie, you go above and beyond to be sure our very sick dog gets the care he needs. I know he's been a challenge. He's on the mend and we're finally getting our normal, loving, fun Bear back. I was referred by a great friend and I'm glad I came! It's a drive for me from Minnetonka, but it's worth it and I won't use another vet unless I move across the country! The whole staff is friendly and knowledgable and Dr. Lewis made my collie's and my time there as stress free as possible. Their prices are great and my puppy isn't anxious at all to go see them. Thank you again for the awesome service! I'll talk you soon :-) Sam Read Less

We recently switched to Pet Nation and absolutely love it. I took our 8 year old Lab in and had the most comprehensive and informative exam she's ever had. I was super impressed with not only the time taken to really check her over and make sure all was well but to also explain what she saw as she went. Now we take our new boxer puppy in as well. I couldn't be happier with the service and staff at Pet Nation, thank you for taking such great care of our beloved pets!! Read Less

We started to go to Pet Nation when we got Buster our Brittany puppy. He is now 4 months old and got into a bowl of M&M's. After a overnight stay at the emergency vet he came home Sunday night. Monday night I received a call from our vet at Pet Nation just asking how our little guy was doing. I liked this place from the first and this showed me how much they care about animals. I would not go anywhere else and will be telling everyone what a great and caring place this is. Read Less

Read Less

There are several great reviews I could give for Pet Nation  but today tops them all. My dog accidentally got outside and was hit by a car. I saw it happen. He wasn't breathing and was unresponsive. I rushed him to Pet Nation.Dr Lewis and her staff immediately took him and stabilized him. It was like watching a professional ER team. My dog regained consciousness, they took great care of him and recommended a place in Blaine to take him to recover. Thank you very much Dr.Lewis.

And if you're there late enough? CORGIS!! Read Less
