Blue Pearl is a great place for specialized help. The doctors are very knowledgeable and the staff is really sweet and definitely cares about the animals. Not cheap but for this kind of care, it will not be. Definitely fair prices. Our visit was not quick, but was thorough. Make sure to leave lots of time when you see them. Our cat got out and injured his leg, coming home at almost 10 pm, unable to put any weight on his leg, tired and anxious. Without hesitation BluePearl assessed him, treated him, and sent him home all within a VERY reasonably time and price for a late night ER visit. I cannot thank the veterinarian and the techs enough for helping him. 6 days later he is already wanting to jump and you would barely know he was even injured! (well, except for the fur on that leg was shaved down and will take a few weeks to grow back in). They also gave us antibiotics and pain meds which kept him comfortable and resting for the first crucial 72 hours. Really, if you value your pet's health and comfort you will not settle for anything less than what BluePearl does. I'd give a thousand stars if I could!!! We ended up at BluePearl from the referral of our local vet after our kitten was throwing up and not eating for days and the vet couldn't figure out why. Upon arriving at BluePearl, the vet immediately knew what was going on based on her experience. It was a diaphragmatic hernia from a congenital defect that caused his stomach, spleen, and part of his pancreas to go through his diaphragm into his chest cavity. Dr. Lisa Powell was extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and patient with us as we struggled with the cost of the surgery to save his life. She worked with us and reduced the cost of his surgery. Dr. Kaufman did a fabulous and skilled job with the surgery and our kitty came out of surgery doing fabulous. When picking up our kitty, I could tell that Dr. Powell truly loves her job and the animals. We cried with her at the success of his surgery. The follow-up appointment to see how he's doing after a week or so is free and they called the day after we brought him home to make sure he's doing okay. It obviously cost more than some people could consider paying which is unfortunate but it's a reality with the costs of running a specialized emergency facility. In the end, it cost me a ton of money but BluePearl saved his life and did a very good job doing it. Read Less

After my daughter's dog was admitted, the Veterinarians contacted me and were able to explain the plan of care, with reasoning behind cares. They explained what they recommended, and what they could do in addition. It was nice to have someone tell you what you need, versus what maybe frivolous. My family and I visited our dog often, and the technicians were friendly, knowledgable, and accommodating. I highly recommend BluePearl in Blaine for anyone that is seeking specialized veterinary care for their pet. The staff is caring, professional, and very efficient. Blue Pearl, Blaine, was recommended to us after our local vet discovered that our little "street dog" from Mexico was suffering from a severe diaphragmatic hernia. Dr. Yu performed a surgery that required moving "Radar's" abdominal organs back to where they actually belonged instead of in her chest area, squeezing her heart and lungs. Radar's case was very severe, and Dr Yu was a top notch surgeon. Little Radar spent a week at BluePearl recovering, and the entire time I felt that I could call and receive an "up to the minute" update on her progress. I had to bring my dog into Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Service due to my own vet was not open when this situation occurred. After being examined and diagnosed and it was a weekend, the staff mentioned the option of taking my dog to Blue Pearl for the procedure. I agreed, and they gave Blue Pearl a call for a appointment time. When I got a call back from Affiliated, they were told by Blue Pearl that Blue Pearl needed a referral from my own vet, not Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Service which performed all the tests, x-rays, blood work to indicate this was a emergency and specialized, that really seeing my own vet was out of the question at this moment in time, seeing my vet was not even open on Sundays. On Monday morning I called the U of M Vet school and I had an appointment including surgery that same day without the "needed referral". I called Blue Pear in Blaine when I got home to ask why they need a referral from my own vet . Basically what I received for an answer was, thats the way we do it. Unsat. Read Less

Completely disappointed in this Vet Clinic! I brought my dog into the Eden Prairie office on a Friday afternoon at 2pm. After a more involved procedure than what was originally scheduled (they aspirated 2 organs, instead of the one planned), which I was fine with, if it looked suspicious. Vet told me the lab results are sent to Chicago at 5pm that night and that we would have the results in on Saturday afternoon. If weather got bad, then the Vet would call 1st thing Monday morning. It's now almost 1pm on Monday, no results, Vet is in a procedure and will call me when she is done. What am I supposed to do with my dog who might need surgery this afternoon? Continue to withhold food and water? One would think that after paying $1000.00 on Friday for the first round of procedures, that if the Vet who you saw for 15 minutes the Friday before was busy, another partner would be calling to help get you the results. In the meantime, my dog continues to suffer while we still wait, almost 72 hours after the labs were drawn! My general Vet had recommended that we go to Blue Pearl as they 'specialize' in imaging. Next time, NEVER coming back, will have my regular vet do the procedure in their office as there is NOTHING ""special"" about this clinic. If I could rate this clinic, with a negative number, I would! Only thing going for this clinic is the front desk staff at the Eden Prairie office was very friendly. But, I could have had that and the lab results 2 days ago (on Saturday) if I would have stayed with my regular Vet! SO FRUSTRATED! Read Less
