Forgive this long post. I've put up with this clinic because they are close to my home, but their rudeness and superior attitude far outweigh the positives that we have had at this clinic and this last incident is the final straw! My mother's cat is her comfort care animal. I am a full time caregiver to my mom, who lives in our home. When we couldn't get a hold of Edinburgh pet center. We called the clinic where a family friend is a licensed vet. This Clinic is quite a drive from our home. The front desk didn't know that we knew one of the vets at this clinic but showed us compassion by fitting us in for an appointment the day that I called them. They even stayed opened a bit past their usual hours so that my moms cat could be seen. Her cat is in the last stages of life but does not need to go home to God quite yet. Her cat needs pain medication to keep him comfortable. The vet that saw and examined my mothers cat, gave us a few days of pain meds to see if his pain could be managed. Edinburgh had faxed my mothers cats information to the other vet, so they are aware that he was being examined. When we saw that the pain meds helped, the vet clinic faxed a prescription to Edinburgh pet center. Edinburgh refused to fill this pain medication because they wanted to examine her cat themselves, because it had been a couple of years since he was seen. Which we found out when my husband and daughter went to Edinburgh to see if they had the medicine. He's an indoor cat that barely leaves my mothers bed. I can understand that with a controlled substance that they need to me very careful. That being said, They have seen this cat numerous times so it is not an unknown cat. They know of his kidney issues, etc. My complaint is that they didn't even try to be compassionate by talking to us or the other vet. When husband and daughter went over to Edinburgh to find out if they had received the fax. The person that came out to the car said that they didn't have any record of this cat. Then when asked to go check again, she went to the vet and did find out that this cat did indeed exist in their system but came back with even a bigger attitude than before as she told how they would not do anything unless they could examine the cat. Maybe they have money to burn by repeating an exam, but my mother does not! So my daughter is having to make the almost an hour trip to go and get some more pain meds and once again this clinic is going out of its way to help us help my moms cat. The vet gave me a call to see how the cat was doing and is making sure that the meds are all prepared for us before my daughter arrives. And because Edinburgh was not even polite enough to call and give us the information that they would not dispense this med without an exam, which we didn't find out until they stopped by there to check and see if they had received the fax. The other clinic is gladly staying open so that we can get the pain meds today. Which they would not have had to do if Edinburgh would have been polite enough to notify us earlier. Edinburgh has become a clinic that if you have money, they will like you, but if you have to be careful with your funds and can't take your pet in for every little thing, they really make you feel bad and look down on you. I have a fairly thick skin and try to give the benefit of the doubt, but not when this behavior is habitual. We have taken more of our pets to them other than just my mothers cat. At one time, way back when they opened they were nicer and seemed to care. But not so much anymore. If you have a good repore with them great, but if you are looking for a new vet, go somewhere else!!!!! Read Less

I can’t say enough about Edinburgh Pet Health Center and I should have written a review long ago. I have taken my dog there for the past two years and have worked with both Dr. Carpenter and Dr. Nelson. While I love my dog to pieces, he can be a bit of a handful. He suffers from anxiety and unfortunately has gotten into inappropriate things several times. Dr. Nelson has helped me through all of them with a sweetness and understanding that I want in a vet. She is also very diligent in following up with me after our visits and genuinely cares about the well being of my dog. In addition, most recently, Dr. Carpenter bent over backwards to help my dog. We were in the process of moving to Boston and 3 days before the movers came, I noticed he somehow broke one of his teeth straight down the middle, vertically. I’ll spare all the details, but Dr. Carpenter was able to make a miracle happen and fit my dog in for surgery. X-rays showed he actually had a lot more going on with his teeth than originally thought. Dr. Carpenter was able to get the 6 worse teeth out to at least make him more comfortable and be able to make the drive to Boston, where he will need a second surgery. Edinburgh Pet Health Center bent over backwards to relieve my dog from pain as well as work with my very tight moving schedule. The entire staff from the moment we began using them have been amazing and I’m quite sad to leave them. I can’t speak to how more or less money they are to another vet, but to genuine concern for my dog and wanting to do what is right for him….they blow everyone else out of the water!! A big THANK YOU to the entire staff at Edinburgh Pet Health Center. Patch will miss you☺ Read Less

We are so glad we switched vets from this place. My husband brought my Chinese Crested Mix in where they made him spend around $350 for different testing since she is hairless (the vet who has seen her many times thought she had mange!) She was in for a rabies update - they've seen here for nearly 4 years and knew she was a hairless breed. This place is more about selling and a quick return than your animals' care! I posted my negative review before that they removed, so I wanted to be sure to inform others! Read Less

Good work at the vet, but prices are extremely high. We had to pay a $75 urgent fee because we were a walk in and didn't have an appointment. The injury to my dog wasn't that urgent because they had us wait an hour for the two or three stitches. The main reason for this review is that we were quoted $500 for the injury, it ended up only being $420 or so, but i can't believe how expensive it was. At another vet we went to, we had a tumor removed off our dogs leg and it was under $200 all said and done. If you choose to go to this vet, prepare your wallet for surgery, its going to be much lighter soon. Read Less

Last year I lost my baby kitty Izzy to kidney failure, she had always attended this vet and through all the appointments and visits I could tell Izzy made an impression on everyone that worked there. My poor baby was diagnosed with severe kidney failure at 2 yrs old, they presented all the options and never pressured us into any one choice. After a single treatment it was decided it was best to let Izzy go, with no judgement or scolding lectures you can receive at some vets. Most recently my family dog of 17 years had reached her end and it was time. This vet is amazing for your pet's everyday/regular needs, unexpected, and end of life needs at a very reasonable cost. Highly recommend, their whole team is special and really care for the whole pet family! Read Less

Ok maybe I'm exaggerating there a bit, but heck I started a non profit for animals!  I love them!  This pet health center care for my dogs too. I can tell from their verbals and non verbals.  We go there for monthly to every other month nail trims, wellness exams and any other concerns. Before this center we went to a clinic in New Hope for the first 4 years of our furbabies life, but then our vet moved and we were on the search for a good place. We found it and here's why!Thumbs up:-Good CS, Rhonda, Kori, Diane, Kori, and another Vet Tech forgot her name, but they are always great to our dogs and us. Our dogs are super anxious when they go into the vets office, but the staff handle them with care and patience. -Dr. Carpenter and other vets we had interactions with take their time to explain and offer what I believe to be the best for my dogs.  They recognize that I'm a concerned pet parent and make sure I'm comfortable and understand what is going on.  -Private parking-You can get on the schedule even last minute. I'm a better be safe then sorry kinda mama for the furbabies and I never had a problem getting in the same or next day of my call of concern-Clean facility -Resources and books available to look at while waiting or to borrow I'm sure -Treats for humans and animals in lobby -knowledgeable, personable, reliable, patient staff always Thumbs down:-No grooming available. I would love to take my dogs to the same place to have vet services and grooming (baths) since they already "know" the place -Prices are comparable to other better vet clinics so it is to be expected that it's not cheap, but they aren't ripping you off either. That's a pro and con mix.  You get what you pay for. I'm a happy camper and if my dogs could talk they would woof approve. Well kinda since what dog likes going to the vet! ;) Read Less
