Park Grove Pet Hospital has been providing veterinary service to Cottage Grove and the surrounding community for over 40 years! Our experienced veterinarians help develop a personalized care plan based on your pet's individual needs.
Some of our services include: surgery, dental procedures, vaccinations, radiology, laboratory diagnostics (both in-clinic and out sourced), chemotherapy and much more.
We also offer boarding services.

I've been taking my dogs to Park Grove for a couple of years now. We didn't have any issues with them until we started to see Dr. Katherine, But once we started having issues everything went downhill....
I've been taking my dogs to Park Grove for a couple of years now. We didn't have any issues with them until we started to see Dr. Katherine, But once we started having issues everything went downhill. It took her several hundred dollars and 6 months of tests to determine a fairly basic diagnosis of an ACL tear. Once we finally had a diagnosis, they would only consider the most expensive option suggested by the specialist. The suggested surgery was prohibitively expensive and they wouldn't discuss or consider alternative options for treatment, even though alternative options do exist. We ended up having to go to a different clinic to take care of our dog.
**Limiting access to affordable healthcare alternatives like that is morally reprehensible.** Not everyone can afford $6,000, and if there are alternatives we should be able to have a conversation with our vet about them. Low-Income families deserve to take care of their dogs just as much as anyone else.
We started buying our prescription medications online because they are a fourth of the price that Park Grove was charging us. We had so many issues with Park Grove faxing the prescription information so that we could have affordable medications filled elsewhere. Every single time we tried to fill our medications elsewhere Park Grove dragged their feet and made us wait weeks for our prescriptions.
As far as I'm concerned, Park Grove Pet hospital only cares about how much money they can squeeze out of their clients. Their priority is not the comfort or health of your pets. I have been extremely disappointed, and do not encourage anyone to employ their services. This review doesn't change anything about how they treated me or my dogs, but I hope that they pause to reflect on their policies. Veterinary services should be accessible to everyone. It is their responsibility to ensure that their clients can take care of their pets. As I said, limiting access to affordable healthcare is a bad policy.

Special thanks to Dr. Sonja Wiersma and her vet tech who came to our house and helped us say "goodbye" to our sweet dog. They were so kind and compassionate while guiding us and our kids through one of the hardest days we've had. They went out of their way so we could give Dakota the best experience possible and we couldn't be more grateful. Dr. Wiersma saw us this fall when Dakota had a growth. She gave us our options and told us the risks. I didn't feel like she was trying to sell me one way or the other on which route was the best for our family. This will be our vet home from now on.

Our beloved Cat Abigail had lost 2 of her 9 lbs and was continuing to decline. Dr. Sonja Wiersma did an excellent job of diagnosing the problem and prescribing a special diet that worked. Abigail is gaining the weight that she lost, her energy has returned, and she clearly is a happy & content cat.
Having used a number of pet hospitals over the years at different locations, this is the best one that I have come across. They're cat and dog people. They truly care about your pet. They take the time necessary to correctly diagnose health issues. The prices are reasonable. You walk out of there knowing that your pet has been properly cared for.

Yesterday, with a heavy heart we helped our sweet Neenah pass over the rainbow bridge. I can not express into words the deep compassion Dr. Dan and Chrissy had for us as they helped her with this transition. We have moved to South Dakota but continue to bring our babies to Park Grove and Dr. Dan. This decision to keep our vet here was even more clear as I watched him administer to Neenah in her final moments. Thank you Dan and Chrissy. Her passing was one of dignity and grace. We will be forever grateful.

I absolutely love this pet hospital. I drive from South Minneapolis to Cottage Grove because of how great the staff here is. They took really great care of the last cat I had and made me feel as good as one could when I had to put my cat down. I have a new kitty now and I wouldn't take her anywhere else. The staff is super friendly and knowledgable and I completely trust them with my pet. There prices are fair and they explain everything to me in laymen's terms so I don't ever feel like I'm paying for a bogus procedure. My cat had a dental cleaning with Dr. Farmer who is awesome! I highly recommend her! I don't remember many of the their names but Jenny, Chrissy, and Morgan (?) are a few of the techs who have all taken care of my kitties at some point and are all wonderful!! Five stars for sure, highly recommend!!!

I've been going to Park Grove Pet Hospital for almost 4 years, for as long as I've lived in Cottage Grove. I have 3 cats and each time I've brought them in I have received excellent service and have felt that the vets and all the staff really care about them. They are also really good at seeing my cats on short notice, when I have had an emergency, and so far, I have had 3. Caring for an animal can be costly, but for the most part, I would say their prices are reasonable, and they are willing to work with you when need be. All in all, I'm very happy and satisfied with this clinic and would recommend it to anyone who has pets.

Our beloved Cat Abigail had lost 2 of her 9 lbs and was continuing to decline. Dr. Sonja Wiersma did an excellent job of diagnosing the problem and prescribing a special diet that worked. Abigail is gaining the weight that she lost, her energy has returned, and she clearly is a happy & content cat.
