I have been coming to Eagan Pet Clinic for about ten years. I've seen every doctor and they are all AMAZING! I see Dr.Peterson more regularly because my French Bulldog Orville has had many health concerns and she is always so attentive and makes sure to explain everything to me in a way I understand (basically in layman's terms lol) The whole staff at EPC is so kind, they always greet us with smiles and make sure we are comfortable. I also find them to be extremely affordable compared to vets I've been to in the past! Fantastic clinic! The vets and staff are engaged and care about your pets as if they're their own. My dog had a cyst split and they were able to fit us in on a busy Saturday morning! We scheduled surgery and on the day of, the doctor walked me through the process and answered all of my questions. They kept me up to date on everything. They also made sure to keep my dog comfortable; he hates shiny floors so they used rugs as lilypads to help him get up front. They called the next day to ask how my dog was doing. When the lab work came back, the vet followed up with me and addressed my concerns. The care and concern they have for the pets and their humans keeps me coming back. Do not take your pet to Eagan Pet Clinic. The vets pretend like they are knowledgeable about animal medical and care about your pet, but the clinic is only focused on making money (and lots of it). We had our dog, Roux's Valley Fever (fungal infection) medication all figured out and regulated. Dr. Holum recommended we take him off of it, and giving her our trust, we did. Months later, Roux had a severe flare up (diarrhea, rapidly loosing weight, not eating or drinking, and lame back leg). Dr. Holum was adamant that it was not the Valley Fever and convinced us to run multiple tests (all which came negative and cost around $200-400 a test). Finally, we racked up almost $2k in vet bills when Dr. Holum admitted she wasn't an "expert" on fungal infections and referred us to the UoM specialty vet. Then, after another expensive vet bill and ultrasound, the UoM specialty vet told us it was more than likely Valley Fever. We put Roux back on his Valley Fever meds and within 2 weeks he was back to his healthy self! I spoke with Eagan Pet Clinic's manager about how we felt like we had gotten screwed out of a lot of money and had the go around with unnecessary testing. The manager was unwilling to take any responsibility or refund us for any of the testing. Regardless of the monetary circumstances, the terrible thing is that our dog suffered for almost 2 months. I definitely feel like Eagan Pet Clinic took advantage of our emotions and trust. We have already found another vet and will not be going to Eagan Pet Clinic ever again. Read Less

I especially appreciated that he took the time to let me ask questions and gave me thoughtful answers that were factual and based both in veterinary science as well as his practical experience. We had to put down our beloved pet dog, Oreo, a couple of months ago. The staff were so kind and understanding. They let us have a room to ourselves with Oreo, and let us take as long as we wanted to say goodbye. When we finally said we were ready, they even asked us if we wanted to be present at the end. It may sound a little macabre, but we did, and, you know, it really helped. It really have us a sense of closure to be with her during the whole process until she was gone. Much more so than with any of the other pets that we have had to let go. We will always be thankful for the kindness and sensitivity down to us by the wonderful people at the Eagan Pet Clinic. We have had positive experiences with our pet dogs here over the years. Our 13 yr old lab was treated very well years ago and when we got a new puppy we returned. We and our pets have been treated well by knowledgable, friendly staff and Vets. It seems a little expensive but it does have nice facilities. We keep returning. Read Less

All I have ever  wanted in a clinic was: decent prices, honest answers, quality care, and kind staff. After owning more than 5 dogs throughout my life. I can honestly say I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else. Jessica Schowalter and her entire staff went above and beyond to care for my pets... and it didn't break my bank. She provided excellent care and lots of options for treatment. Her staff treated my pups like they were their own and it was all I could ever ask for. I live in Hugo MN.... I drive to Eagan MN any time my pets need care ... its over a 50 minute drive and I pass a large amount of clinics on the way. I will continue to do this because the care is exceptional. I'm a healthcare professional and travel for my work and needed to take my dog Harley to a vet in town. Eagan Pet Clinic had excellent reviews so I decided to take Harley to see them. Excellent staff and very compassionate about our needs and my concerns. They were reasonably priced and the vet discussed Harley's treatment plan with me, which didn't include selling me unnecessary treatment options. The clinic was clean and well maintained. I brought my little dog in to have a Cushing's test done on him. My dog was walking, barking, eyes were perfect he was in fine shape!!! I received a phone call saying they could not do the Cushing's test at that time because he still had steroids in his system and the test needs to be rescheduled. I went to p/u my precious dog and he was PARALYZED and EYES DILATED!!! Dr. Showalter tried to make it seem like I brought him in like that, and refused to help him in any way! I was infuriated and asked what they did to my dog repeatedly!! She said, "Your making me scared!" I asked her what did you do to my dog!! Bottom line is this. They would not help my little boy and called the cops on me and said I was trespassing! I had to rush around trying trying to find an animal ER which I did in St Paul. I had to put him down based on the ER Doctors assessment! These people are horrible and GOD will punish them for what the did to my dog! Please do not take you animal to them!! Even though we have a few closer vet clinic near us, we travel to Eagan Pet Clinic to take our newest member here and could not be happier. My family had been bringing our animals to Eagan Pet Clinic ever since I can remember - at least 20 years. In the last couple years there has been a change in ownership and with that new staff and many of the old staff and old vets have left. The new desk staff members are rude and the new vets just really seem like they don't care. They might be good at their jobs but have really terrible customer service and zero compassion. On my last visit there, the vet we saw wouldn't even touch my dog. It was very upsetting to me, and with that and after being pressured numerous times to spend money on things I don't believe necessary, I finally went and found a new vet. Read Less

The vet care is acceptable, The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced at a pet clinic.  I have had dogs my entire adult life (30 years).  I have taken them to various clinics, depending on where I live.  The last clinic I had been at, I went there for over a decade with three different dogs and a few other animals, and never once had a single problem with them. At Eagan Pet Clinic, I was often forced to wait in the lobby for well over 30 minutes just to see a vet tech, and then might wait another 10-15 minutes to see the vet, who might spend 5 minutes with me and my dog.  This became more or less the norm. When I tried to complain about it, the vet basically said these things happen and might happen again and it is out of our control.  When I asked to leave a message for one of the owners about this, she said she'd see if the owner was available. The owner (a vet) told me I had yelled at her staff (I did not) and made them cry, and that I had forced her to scrub out of surgery to speak to me (I did not even know she was in surgery and actually had asked to leave her a voicemail) and then she told me to find another vet, and this is after taking my animals there for many years.  I complained, within reason, and was basically told, go away, your customer loyalty doesn't mean anything. I started with Eagan Pet Clinic years ago when they were at their old location. Then they moved. Then I moved. The distance just kept getting farther away. I still go as it is worth every mile to take me beloved pets to a vet that I trust totally for their care. Thru the years, Dr. Hansen has taken wonderful care of my pets. I really like how he explains all procedures to me - why it is needed, what will happen if I do nothing , etc. I would recommend this clinic to everyone! Read Less

I had been taking my dogs to EPC since they were puppies. Recently, I brought in my now 10-year old dachshund because he was running a fever and we were trying to figure out what was wrong with him. Almost $600, two different visits, two different doctors, two different antibiotics, a needless chest xray, we had no answers. We were told our dog would need extensive dental work because this mouth was full of infected teeth that was likely into the bone in his jaw. We were quoted $800-$1600 start to finish for his mouth. We took him elsewhere for another opinion and the answer was simple and only ended up costing a fraction of the price we were quoted. I will NEVER bring my animals to these crooks again. Read Less

I cannot recommend this clinic enough. I called at 5:30 one night with a sick animal and the vet said to go ahead and bring her right in even though they close at 6, he would stay late and see her. I think owning three black labs qualifies me as either a crazy dog lady, or an expert on where to get quality care for your pets.  Maybe both.  Probably both.  We tried a couple vets before settling on one that is close to home.  If you're familiar with purebred labs, you know that trips to the vet are common.  We've seen just about every malady common to the breed-hip dysplasia, cataracts, glaucoma, ear infections, bladder infections, teeth root deterioration, etc, etc.  I have yet to encounter a doctor at this practice that isn't genuinely caring and loving to each and every one of our dogs.  There have been some tearful appointments and they handled us with just as much care as our furry family members.  When advanced treatment plans are recommended, the doctors will offer other alternatives that aren't  as invasive and/or expensive.  There is no judgment or condescension from the staff, they simply work within the parameters of the pet owner's discretion.  In the ten years we've been taking our dogs here, I've noticed that there is very low staff turnover.  The assistants are just as competent and caring as the doctors and the schedule is smooth and efficient.  The clinic is spotless, the grounds and landscape always look great.  You and your pets are in the best of hands with this practice. After numerous visits to other vets trying to figure what was wrong with my cat, I ended up at Eagan Pet Clinic based on glowing reviews from another pet parent. I was very impressed by everyone there. My appointment was with Dr. Schowalter, and she was amazing. She talked to me about all my options, listened to my concerns, and came up with a course of action that made sense given my situation. I felt like I could make the right decision on what to do about my cat based on our discussion, which is something I hadn't felt after talking to any other vet. When I came in to pick up my cat after the day of tests, she fully explained what had been discovered. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience there. After trips to other average vets who couldn't do much to help my cat and a whole lot of frustration, it was a relief to find a place who truly wanted to help us and had the expertise to do so effectively. I know that cost may be a concern for some reading these reviews, so I will add that I found the prices for each of the services I received to be very reasonable. Plus the time they took to talk with me about the recommended services put me totally at ease that each one was warranted and worthwhile. Read Less

I don't live in MN anymore but when I did I took all my pets to Eagan Pet Clinic for over 10 years. Every doctor there is amazing and goes above and beyond when needed to help care for your pet. Their prices have gone up a little over the years but are still reasonable and they don't charge you for unnecessary things. I only wish I could find a vet this good where I live now. Read Less

The staff at the Eagan Pet Clinic is so caring and loving. My dog was very sick and they did an amazing job taking care of him and nursing him back to health. The doctors were very informative and never talked over my head. My son had questions and they did a wonderful job answering his questions as well. I will never go to another clinic!
