My pooch Pickles, and I had our first visit at Lexington Pet Clinic this afternoon. Let me preface this by saying that unfortunately, due to past experiences with vets bleeding my bank account dry, I have become quite the skeptic when it comes to finding a good one. Well, all I can say after leaving Lexington Pet Clinic is, color me impressed! All of the staff from the receptionist to the technicians (who invited me into the back so they could give me tips on clipping Pickles' nails), to the doctor herself, were super friendly and actually helpful! I know as a pet owner, we are supposed to get our pooches teeth cleaned...however, a large part of me has always found this to be some kind of trickery...I mean, dogs have been around for ages without getting their teeth professionally cleaned! The last vet I took Pickles to about a year ago told me that he had periodontal disease, and that not only was he in desperate need of an emergency cleaning, but that he'd probably also need extractions and it would cost me upwards of $2000!!! I didn't have $2000 just laying around waiting to be spent on pet teeth, so for a full year now I have been absolutely worried sick about Pickles' teeth! This, my friends, is what brought me to Dr. Ferguson at Lexington Pet Clinic. I am thrilled beyond measure to report that although Dr. F recommended a teeth cleaning for Pickles within the next year, she was positive that his teeth and gums are actually in good shape!!! As for the teeth cleaning, that is only going to cost about $400! And, the appointment itself (which was a full check-up) only cost us $65! Lexington Pet Clinic is worth a visit no matter how long of a trek it may be from your digs. Read Less
