Unprofessional! They are out to get your money...that's it. I started service with Banfield in Maplewood, MN a year ago with my new lab puppy, and in the last few months added my little girl corgi to a plan also. I then moved to the Eden Prairie, MN location. I have always had an appointment set at least a couple of weeks in advance, and not one time have I waited less than an hour to be seen. I recently had my 6 month old corgi spayed there, and being in the medical field, I was curious as to how the procedure would be run and wanted to know some of the finer details. I was disapointed to hear that they use blades still, instead of a laser. The doctor was very short with me and they pretty much shoved the papers in front of me to sign for treatment. After recieving the pup's paperwork, I saw that the surgery took 30 minutes! This didn't include prep. time or clean-up. A spay should take absolutely no longer than 20 minutes at most. They had told me prior that there wouldn't need to be a follow-up as I live 3.5 hours away now, and she wouldn't have any external sutures. When they brought her out, she had a little over an inch cut with 6-7 stitches. The stitches were VERY tightly sewn, so I'm praying she doesn't get much swelling. They proceeded to tell me that I need to come back in 2 weeks for a follow-up and to get the stitches out. Seeing as I'm 3.5 hours away, I now have to get her stitches removed in my hometown. To top it all off, before being spayed, they were supposed to make sure that her bladder was empty in order to reduce the risk of bacteria traveling up the urethra and causeing a urinary tract infection. It's been 3 days, and she is having accidents all over the house (she is completely potty trained), and is very restless. I took her in today, and she does infact have a UTI. I come from a farm/ranch where I had NEVER had a pet on a vet payment plan, and I never will again. It is MUCH cheaper to do the shots yourself instead of signing a year contract with unprofessionals who aren't worth the $24.00/mo. you pay them to waste your time and money. I now have to keep paying $24.00/mo. for the next 6-7 months eventhough I'll never take her back there again. Don't make the same mistake I did. Read Less
