Our regular vet already closed for the weekend when we noticed our pup' s ear was all red and sore to the touch. Figured we would check with Banfield to see if they could help before going to an emergency clinic. Even though they were booked, they still fit him in, ran tests, and gave him meds for an ear infection. The staff were great and took the time to get to know our pup/us before taking him back for the visit (3 hr drop off while they found time to fit him in and test him). Always called before running tests and gave us updated price estimates along the way. Great experience! Read Less

Horrible experience here with a neutering. They do not know how to handle animals and they do not know how to handle worried pet parents. They really and truly are the worst place to take a pet. If you have the option do not go to them. They do not understand how to handle anything properly at all. Other vets have agreed that they have heard a lot of bad things and complaints about bandfiled incidents. It’s not just this one- it’s all of them. Take care of your pets. Read Less

The doctors are great, the customer service is not. IF you can get them on the phone, there's a good chance they'll put you on hold WITHOUT asking or informing you they're doing it. I spent 4 minutes shouting and trying to figure out if my phone was broken, only to hang up and call back to have a *lovely* woman snarkily inform me that "I had to put you on hold to help the customer IN FRONT of me." Meanwhile, I've been listening to the same woman talk to the customer's dog for the last two minutes. I always am super patient, arrive early, and end up leaving an hour and a half for something small. I'm put over the edge with their RUDE front desk lady. Not to mention in 2015 they didn't inform me when it was time to get my cat's shots before the plan ran out, so I had to pay out of pocket when I shouldn't have. I made it a POINT to call before my dog's plan ran out the next year and the same lady tried to tell me it wasn't covered, argued with me for a good ten minutes, and then discovered OH IT IS COVERED AFTER ALL. I will not be back. Ever. Read Less

This place is definitely a money making machine. The monthly membership seems to be a rip off. I went to another local vet and they were able to print off the exact price they would charge me for every vaccination and medicine. I added it all up and it was over a $100 less per year at the other location. We got X-Rays a few weeks ago. They told us it would take 30 minutes. Well it took an hour and a half. We waited the whole time with no updates. After an hour I asked the front desk and they told me the X-Rays were done but our vet was in another appointment and would talk to us after. They kept our dog in the back instead of giving her to us while we waited. Apparently something is wrong with my dogs knee, but they didn't tell us exactly what it was and didn't type up anything about it on our invoice. They were going to send the X-Rays to a specialist,  I asked to see the X-Rays and they said they would mail them to us... 2 weeks later still nothing. Also the assistants at this location are awesome but I am very underwhelmed with their actual vets. I am calling today to cancel my wellness plan and will be taking my business elsewhere. Read Less

My family and I have been going here for roughly 9 years, with about a 2 year gap in the middle. I've never liked them very much in the sense of how they treated my animals. I have had 5 animals go to banfeild, & all 5 have died due to unethical choices of doctors. Wednesday, my 4 year old dog was puking, had blood in her stool & trouble breathing, we took her in & they sent her out with water bubbles in her back & meds. We then had to call them for an emergency appt Thursday, about 24 hours after her first appt & they told up "we will TRY to get you in". They were not only rude about it, they were unethical & had no heart. We proceeded to take her to emergency care, where she is being held over night to do more tests because the doctors at banfield were too lazy to make sure she's okay Wednesday when we originally took her. Banfield does have SOME good nurses, but that's only about 1 or 2. Otherwise, this place is a piece of crap with poor ethics & education. Read Less

We have been going to Banfield for many years and we have always enjoyed the care of service that we have received. The vets are amazing and the front desk is truly caring about all of us and we are treated like family. Recently they have added a new clinic manager by the name of Taylor, and we are beyond dissatisfied with him and his treatment of us and our pets. While making a routine vet appointment, my dog was labeled as "aggressive" and I was told that we would have to bring him in there for the day as to not disrupt the patients and staff in the waiting area and rooms. Thankfully I was transferred to a caring person who knows us, to schedule an appointment with. If people like Taylor are the future of Banfield, we will be seeking alternative care options for our pets. Read Less

I took my younger cat here to get some mats cut off and everyone I talked to was very nice and incredibly helpful. My cat came back looking like a little gray lion (super adorable!) and she was much happier when I picked her up. My older cat wasn't actually seen by anyone here but I did have to put her down so I knew I was going to call them. The vet tech and the vet were so nice and understanding when I brought her in. They explained everything to me and didn't question why I had decided to put her down (she had advanced kidney disease). I've been with Banfield for over 12 years with 4 cats and 2 dogs on their Wellness program. The vets are the best - they remember us each time and know the full histories. They've never recommended unnecessary treatments and are very educational and caring. The wellness plan is the best around - great savings and ongoing comprehensive checkups. Couldn't be happier with the care and service and recommend to all my friends, especially getting new pets that need to be spayed/neutered - the wellness plans save a ton of money on that end. We've only been here a couple times, but here's what I've concluded: 1) The particular vets we've met have been nice. 2) They seem to be one of the more reasonably priced vets in this particular city (there are some cheaper ones in nearby cities such as Shakopee and Savage, but those are a tad too far for us). 3) We have never had "major" vet care here (mostly just gland expression and heartworm exams), so I can't speak to how they are in medical crises or what their fees are for bigger issues, but for what we've gone there for, we've had no complaints. NOTE: We did NOT purchase the "plan" that we were warned they'll try to sell you on, and for our particular needs, that has been the best for us...I personally can't stand high-pressured sales people who don't take NO for an answer, so we simply stated up front we would NOT be buying the "plan," and although they tried a couple times to sell us on it, we stayed firm, and they backed off. We starting coming to this Banfield when our cat wasn't acting the same. He wouldn't eat, use the litter box, he kept coughing, and he wouldn't move at all. They did a million tests just to tell us he was fine. They did tell us he had a heart murmur and they did a chest x-ray. So we pay for them to do all of these things just for them to tell us they have no one on staff who can read the x-ray... Why did we pay almost $200 for them to tell us that?! We recently brought him back for a dental cleaning because we had a Wellness plan to help cover some of the routine costs. They told us when he was under anesthesia his heart was acting abnormal. They suggested we get an ultrasound... I refuse to pay them $500 so we are taking our poor kitty somewhere else. This place over charges and seems to not know how to do their job. They gave us some medicine for our cat. They never even told us what it was for or why we needed to give it to him. The next day I read the packet to found out he has roundworms and hookworms. I wish they could have communicated that to us!!! So since we are taking him somewhere else tomorrow the new vet asked us to get a copy of the x-ray that they couldn't read. I called earlier in the week and they said they would call when it's ready. So we called today and they had no idea that we had called a couple of days ago... now we have to wait again for them to get us a copy. I'm pretty sure this place is run by monkeys. I am normally a pretty nice person but I have nothing good to say about this place! Read Less

I have been a client of Banfield of Eden Prairie for the last six years and I can proudly say this is an exceptional veterinary clinic. I am an ICU registered nurse, so I know what is and is not good care. My precious Gary was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. From the secretary making an emergent appointment for me to be initially seen, to the vet who accurately assessed and explained the treatment plan, giving me all the information as well as options, to the vet technician that comforted my baby while he was scared and hurting. Every time I have needed anything, the staff have been willing to make arrangements. Each time my pets have had surgery, the vet has made time to call me before and after the procedure. The professionalism, quality of care, and love of their furry clients shines through from each staff member. My family and I appreciate all of their kindness and dedication to caring for my dog and four cats. -From the family of Lady, Opie, Gary, Nadia, and Roxie.Read Less

We just got a puppy and she genuinely cared about everything and basically gave us a lesson on his breed. HORRIBLE! We have 2 dogs and 3 cats. We took our kitten in to be declawed, and he came back with a very deep cut on one of his paw pads. The cut was so bad it almost sliced his pad in half. Our other cats are declawed (done at Edina) and there were no issues at all. Banfield tried to blame the kitten, then us, and they also had the nerve to guilt trip us about having him declawed in the first place. They're extremely careless, rude, and unprofessional. My kitten shouldn't have come back with more wounds and pain than necessary. Banfield disgusts me, and we'll be taking all our pets back to Edina Pet Hospital. They know what they're doing there, and they truly care about your pets. Banfield does NOT. They'll stand by their so called doctors even when they accidentally cut your pet during surgery. Unprofessional! They are out to get your money...that's it. I started service with Banfield in Maplewood, MN a year ago with my new lab puppy, and in the last few months added my little girl corgi to a plan also. I then moved to the Eden Prairie, MN location. I have always had an appointment set at least a couple of weeks in advance, and not one time have I waited less than an hour to be seen. I recently had my 6 month old corgi spayed there, and being in the medical field, I was curious as to how the procedure would be run and wanted to know some of the finer details. I was disapointed to hear that they use blades still, instead of a laser. The doctor was very short with me and they pretty much shoved the papers in front of me to sign for treatment. After recieving the pup's paperwork, I saw that the surgery took 30 minutes! This didn't include prep. time or clean-up. A spay should take absolutely no longer than 20 minutes at most. They had told me prior that there wouldn't need to be a follow-up as I live 3.5 hours away now, and she wouldn't have any external sutures. When they brought her out, she had a little over an inch cut with 6-7 stitches. The stitches were VERY tightly sewn, so I'm praying she doesn't get much swelling. They proceeded to tell me that I need to come back in 2 weeks for a follow-up and to get the stitches out. Seeing as I'm 3.5 hours away, I now have to get her stitches removed in my hometown. To top it all off, before being spayed, they were supposed to make sure that her bladder was empty in order to reduce the risk of bacteria traveling up the urethra and causeing a urinary tract infection. It's been 3 days, and she is having accidents all over the house (she is completely potty trained), and is very restless. I took her in today, and she does infact have a UTI. I come from a farm/ranch where I had NEVER had a pet on a vet payment plan, and I never will again. It is MUCH cheaper to do the shots yourself instead of signing a year contract with unprofessionals who aren't worth the $24.00/mo. you pay them to waste your time and money. I now have to keep paying $24.00/mo. for the next 6-7 months eventhough I'll never take her back there again. Don't make the same mistake I did. Read Less

We were sucked into the Banfield madness 3.5 years ago when Miles came into our lives. At the time, we lived in N Mpls and had great referrals from friends for the Banfield at the Petsmart in Fridley. So we signed up for a Wellness Plan. If you are not rolling in $$, the plan is a pretty good deal. No office visit fees, different levels of coverage requiring a monthly payment. The Fridley Petsmart and Banfield closed January 2008. It was ok because we moved at the same time to Eden Prairie so it wouldn't be very convenient anymore (you cannot transfer your plan to a different Banfield - annoying). We had a vet recommended by a rescue group really close to our house. Miles developed a crazy wart tumor thing on his face so we went to the new vet. Estimate for removal - $500! We immediately realized how much we had grown accustomed to Banfield. So we went and signed up for another Wellness Plan at the Eden Prairie Banfield. Except this Banfield makes me sad. The staff isn't as friendly. The floor has smeared poo on it. We always have to wait 20 minutes even if we have an appointment. They just don't seem to give a rat's ass. So far we've been lucky enough to have no major healthy issues with our pug in the past year (the wart tumor just fell off - gross but yippee!) But our year is almost up and I'm seriously considering other options. Where people I pay to take care of my dog are nice. And at least act like they care. Read Less

I wish I could remember their names but they were the most wonderful people on a very difficult day. Read Less

We starting going here after the Plymouth Banfield location misdiagnosed our dog as diabetic (no way we'd would return) and had some luck at first. I can confirm that I have not spoken to a competent person at this location in 6 months. They are so unorganized, rude, and should not be allowed near an animal. Save yourself the headache and find an actual vet to bring your pet to. Read Less

I am VERY pleased with my experience over the past 3 years at the Eden Prairie Banfield...especially seeing Dr Lee.  She is our vet of choice there. She spends as much time as necessary to discuss anything of concern to us and seems to be a very caring vet. I find the staff in general to be great. They are friendly and truly caring about our dog (who is quite exhuberant)!! They have PLENTY of patience with him. We really don't have a need to look elsewhere. I highly recommend this Banfield location! Read Less

I had a great experience at Banfield.  They greated us right away, the vet tech came and got us right away and spent a ton of time with us! We just got a puppy and she genuinely cared about everything and basically gave us a lesson on his breed. The vet shook my hand, stayed and talked for a while, talked about the breed and issues we will watch for, talked about what the next year milestones will be.  It was AWESOME! You cant beat the price!  We went to a privately owned vet for our first visit with our puppy and the experience was NIGHT AND DAY!  Glad we took our neighbors recomendation to go there! Read Less

Take your pets there at your own risk. Read Less

Read Less
