A vet tech, Monica, came out to give our horses the yearly shots and ended up beating our horse several times because she would not stand still and was scared. This person used her temper on our horse using no patience or how they say they treat horses It was a horrible experience and she will never touch our horses again. Monica is very rough with the horses and in a hurry to get done There were four witnesses to this and the owner of the stable was angered and stopped the beatings Our horse was being securely held and no one was in any danger No one really seemed to care at the clinic and this cruel person never apologized Our horse has never been hit or treated like this ever. This vet clinic has been very helpful with the care of my horse. Their veterinarians take time to talk with me during treatment of my horse when I have updates and/or questions. They show concern for my horse and make every effort to come out and see her as soon as possible when needed. I've had multiple different vets out and they are all wonderful. I was very confident leaving my horse in her care for a couple of days for observation. He has been home for a couple of weeks now and he is doing wonderfully. My horse was 28 years old and lost weight over the winter after biting into hay that had a rock or stick in it and loosened 2 teeth. That healed but this Spring she was bitten or kicked in the shoulder by another horse. A different vet than the one that always saw her came out and gave bute. A few days later a hole appeared in her shoulder and terrible smelling pus drained out. The same vet came back and made a cut below the hole to drain more pus and had me give her Uniprim ...as an antibiotic. A week later she couldn't take the Uniprim, it bothered her stomach so the vet gave her 3 injections since pus was still coming out. A week later, on a Saturday she was down in her stall and couldn't get her up. Called Anoka and yet a different vet (Dr. Voller) came out and discovered a prolapsed rectum. He said to put Preparation H on it. He didn't pay any attention to how thin she had gotten, just skin and bones. 4 days after that she was standing in her stall and 3 legs were so swollen that she wouldn't move. She hadn't eaten for 3 days. I called and yet a different vet came out and put her down. Don't feel that they did anything to help her, at all, except to put her out of her misery. Thank you to Dr. Ingrid for the great care given to Geno when he somehow tore open his lip! Quick and precise evaluation, cleansing and stitching. I could tell she cared about the quality of her work when she took a second look at one of her stitches, decided she wasn't happy with it, cut it, pulled it out, and re-did it. Awesome! I have been going to Anoka for 2 yrs now. While they have accomplished some good results in the past, this last experience I've had with them has been poor and that is putting it kindly.
