The staff is awesome with the kids, one of which is very vet anxious, and do a great job ensuring everything is explained. Wonderful!!! They were able to fit my dog that had an ear infection in for an appointment. The staff I met was so friendly and caring. They treated my dog with respect and didn't push any product on me that I didn't ask about. They respect that you know your animal best. It was our first time going and we will definitely be back. Just had my first experience with this clinic - which my sister recommended - to have my cat's teeth cleaned. They were wonderful! My little buddy's teeth are pristine-white, with two extractions done (teeth that were probably causing him pain - the whole reason I brought him in). Everyone is very very friendly, they even lent me a much bigger carrier to take him home in so he could spread out inside (he was just waking up from anesthesia). And...they charge the least of any clinic in the northeast metro that I've had quoted...and they didn't require an initial visit before the day his teeth were cleaned, like many do. This was my first experience at the clinic. Everything about it was wonderful. My dog came in, very sick. The doctor showed such compassion and concern. She listened to my concerns, and checked my dog out from head to toe, including x-rays and blood work, in order to determine what was wrong. She did everything she could, and needed to, to get my pup feeling good again! The whole staff was very friendly, and caring. This is the only clinic I will use from now on! Read Less

I can not say enough good things about this place. We see Dr. Schaak and she is awesome and very good at explaining things. We saw another vet there when Dr Schaak wasn't available and she was wonderful as well (sorry bad with names). The staff is super friendly, the place is super clean and our dog MIA is not afraid to go see the vet. And the care they show for your pet is second to none. Oh, and better yet the prices are very reasonable. I have shopped around and they are usually cheaper. But just because they are, doesn't mean you get what you paid for. Love this vet!  We moved from CA so I struggled a full year with vets until I found them. My dog has had 2 acl surgeries here and they are by far the cheapest and most caring.  We drive 45 miles to them so I guess that says it all. Read Less

I bring all my pets here. They are the best vet I have ever been to. The love they show for their animal is amazing! They are also very fair with pricing and most of all honest!!! Today I had to put down our 2 year old Siamese kitty. It was so hard. Our vet is really the best around, her bed side manner, professionalism and compassion they showed was so comforting. They are always so helpful and friendly! I bring both my fur babies here and they always have made the experience a little less traumatizing for both myself and my dog (Trigger) and cat (Catrick Swayzy). To put a little icing on the cake, this has also been a very inexpensive place when it comes to vaccinations and other health care needs. Trust me, I have looked around. I am a veterinarian myself and bring my pets to see Dr. Michaela Kohler because I work in a specialty setting where primary care is not available. I am so lucky to have Dr. Kohler to care for my babies. She is an internship-trained veterinarian, meaning she had special training beyond veterinary school and I trust her medical knowledge base over many other vets I've worked with. I've been to Forest Lake Veterinary Hospital  many times both for new puppy and stray kitty spays and neuters, but also for old dog sudden health issues. They're always responsive, kind, accommodating, and patient. In addition, they're low-stress and low-BS. They don't try to sell you anything. They're all about taking care of your pet, but doing it in a reasonable way that makes sense for you. They also trust you to be able to do things yourself to better your pet's health, and don't come off as control freaks with patronizing attitudes like so many other veterinarian offices do. I always feel great about my pet's health situations when I let them help me make decisions. The staff are consistently pleasant, and seem to be happy with their employer, which is refreshing. I have no complaints! (By the way, Rita wasn't there last time - I hope she was just on lunch break or on vacay!)Even my dogs like going there, because they're treated so kindly. They act like they're just going in to get petted by nice people. One is an extremely fearful older puppy mill rescue, and she doesn't fear them any more than she fears anyone else, which is saying something, being that she has some pretty severe issues, poor thing. They're very kind and calm and are really good with her. They must have a ton of experience dealing with difficult rescues. I noticed last time that they even matched their tone of voice to mine, which seems to comfort the dog.  I don't think either dog has figured out it's a place they should fear, even though they get poked and prodded every time they're there. My big dog is nothing short of excited to go there, because she knows there's treats and attention waiting for her arrival. I should say that I live in Roseville and that it takes me half an hour to get to the vet, but their service, style, attention, and prices make up for the travel distance. :) Read Less
