This is not our normal vet and I was able to get my 1.5 yr dog in the same day on a Monday after she was sick all weekend. Dr. Lee was assuring and gave me the option to start antibiotics as a treatment for Gracie which I thought was great patient care. We started bringing our pets (3 cats and a dog) here after having issues with our dog having SEVERE anxiety on the exam table. Our last vet was unable to work with her on the floor as he has knee and hip issues, so we took her to Lee Veterinary clinic and they got down on ground level with her, and it made such a difference. She had so much less anxiety and actually seemed like she didn't mind the visit much. I also had to bring one of my cats in due to an infection causing his third eyelid to cover his eyes, and they got me in the same day I called, did the necessary testing and were so compassionate and amazing. Easily the best vet I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot!) I am a certified dog trainer and train everything from service dogs to drug dogs. I have a shepherd Malinois that is my demo dog as well as a trained protection and scent dog. I am VERY particular about who has anything to do with him. I have tried many different area vets and would not trust my dog with anyone other then Lee vet!! All of the doctors give you all of your options, they do not push anything on you but always lend much appreciated recommendations! Recently I got my working dog altered there. He is an 80lbs high drive dog that I don't trust many people alone with yet the entire time he was there I felt at ease knowing he was in their care. This is my puppy's normal vet and I wouldn't go anywhere else! Dr. Barrett is awesome with my puppy and my puppy loves her! My dog just had an accident and broke her paw, after calling and seeing if they would look at her, even with my 50 minute drive, with in 1 minute of getting there i was in a room and a few minutes later had my pup being looked at. They truly care about their patients, its a great change from the vet i had her going to in Fargo. I truly recommend this place!! Read Less

Our dog got sick over the weekend and we had to take her into the red river emergency animal clinic. After leaving our dog there for nine hours, some unnecessary tests and $850 they were unable to diagnose her problem and sent us home. Monday morning our regular vet in Fargo was unable to make time to get our dog in for a check up, we had always heard that Lee Veterinary clinic in Hawley was fantastic so I called there and within an hour we were there and they checked over our dog, gave us a diagnosis and sent us home with medicine. I want to give "Lee Vet Clinic" two very enthusiastic thumbs up. This is the third equine vet I have worked with since moving to the Barnesville, MN area and I am nothing but totally impressed with Dr. Lee and the staff at this clinic. Dr. Lee treated a sick gelding of mine, and gave me great advice on how to treat his illness and get him on the road to recovery. She called me not once, but twice to see how he was doing (I didn't even request a call -- she's just that awesome). Each time spending over 20 minutes to answer all my questions and find out how he is doing. When she looked at my gelding, she was very thorough and asked lots of questions, she even printed off pages from her medical books about his condition so I could become more educated about it (this really meant a lot to me as I have never had a horse with this illness before, and was not sure what to do). I normally love this clinic. However, recently my dog had an allergic reaction where she swelled up and couldn't breathe very well. My brother was watching her at the time and tried taking her to the emergency vet. They told him they were closed and to bring her to her normal vet right away. My brother had her there right at 8am when Lee Vet was opening. He went inside with her and explained the situation. The young woman at the front desk was incredibly rude. She demanded to know whether he had an appointment. He said of course not, this is an emergency. She just responded, "You have to have an appointment." He eventually got in, but was taken back at the rudeness. While most people there were nice, the woman at the front desk is making me consider switching vets. I can understand busy, but an emergency is an emergency. Not impressed. A few hours after I posted this, someone from Lee Vet did call me personally to apologize. He said they would be speaking to the rude employee. I was impressed that they called to apologize. I hope they do speak with that employee so a situation like this doesn't happen again. It is normally such a wonderful clinic and it's a shame that someone would be so rude in an emergency situation. Read Less
