I've been going there all spring with chicken problems. They have been incredibly helpful, and literally pulled 2 baby chicks back from the brink of death. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place! My Great Dane Winston needed an exploratory surgery, and it was handled with such prompt and care. Dr. Mahn was amazing and such a pleasure to work with. Very knowledgeable, empathetic, kind, and I could sense the urgency she placed on Winston’s case. The overnight tech (so sorry I forgot your name) was so sweet. I didn’t want to overstay my visit but I didn’t feel rushed at all! Steph the Technician was there when I visited last night and was there to discharge him today. Everyone from the front desk ladies, to the techs, and doctors were incredible. I would recommend Southview to anyone and everyone looking for a vet. My dog Nova frequently goes here to get his Kidney levels checked. He was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease a year ago after tons of testing. Dr. Masselink is working with other vets and learning all about Nova's disease just for him. Found this vet while looking for someone qualified to take reptiles – since then we have been taking all of our animals here. We see Dr Godinez but have also seen another doctor when our dog had an emergency visit. Very knowledgeable and compassionate staff – they will tell you like it is with honesty, and give their professional opinion about next steps, but not push you into care decisions. After every animal visit I always get a follow up call the next day or so checking on the health of whatever pet had come in for a visit. Just yesterday we had our great dane neutered and he has been well taken care of and sent home with additional pain medication for him. They are not the cheapest vet you will find– I have done that before (go for the cheapest) and let me tell you, I’d rather pay for quality care and have staff who is looking out for the health and well being of my family member! I just want to thank all of the lovely staff at Southview Animal hospital for always being there for my rabbit companion and best friend, Mr. Craig. Particularly Dr. Cincosky who is so good with small exotics! When Craig had the deadly G.I stasis twice in a few months, Dr. Cincosky went above and beyond my expectations of care. She left no stone unturned and even though Craig didn't seem to have a blockage, she did an x-ray just to be sure, and ordered prescriptions not just for treatment but also for preventative care. When I had a question I was able to call and speak directly to her, and she answered all of my questions. Those of us with exotic pets know how hard it is to find a savvy vet, and Southview is a resource that saved my beloved fluffy rabbit's life. Today we got a checkup for our newest rabbit addition, Milton, and although hes a timid rabbit she was able to gain his trust right away. Hats off to the crew last night. I brought my Rat Terrier in last night about 630. My dog Elliot was bit by another animal and was left with 3 puncture wounds. ( He was bleeding bad. I had blood on my face, my arms, all over my shirt and my hands were also covered ) he had 1 on each side of his ribs and 1 under his left leg. Thy took him in with out an appointment and cleaned him up and he got I believe 12 staples. When all was over I was surprised by how low the bill was. they were very respectful and treated me and my dog like I was one of their own. This is a wonderful clinic with wonderful people, and my bulldog was minutes from dying when he was only 12 weeks old. I called this clinic in a panic telling them I was on my way and my puppy was barely breathing. And when I arrived staff was ready holding the door open, and immediately took my puppy into the back. They saved his life. I forever will be grateful for the emergency situation and how they handled it. I can't say enough about the staff and their commitment to the animals in their facility. 5 days of around the clock care for a failing puppy and I couldn't be more appreciative of what they did for her or more thankful for their reasonable prices when facing an emergency of this magnitude. And 5 days of visiting your sick puppy gives you a glimpse into the depth of feelings these vets and techs have for their patients.
