I don't know what all these negative people are talking about. I called Banfield at 7 am this morning and told them I had an emergency with my dog, they told me that they were booked solid, How ever if I could drop her off, they would be able to take care of her, So I did. I was frantic, Its Christmas week and it's busy every where, The Banfield team took great care of my dog and sent us home with the Antibiotics she needs to get better. The antibiotics alone were $160.00, with the wellness plan We only paid $68.00 out of pocket, And with the plan there is NO OFFICE VISIT FEE!!! With out the plan my Bill would have been almost $300.00 today. The staff was so kind in our time of need on such a busy and stressful week. I am thankful they were able to see my dog on such short notice. We have had the wellness plan for over 20 years. It gives me peace of mind knowing that I don't have to fork out $200.00 Or more every time she goes in. We are on the old timer plan and it covers alot of ground especially when your pet is up there in age and starts having health problems. When my Husky mix passed away some year's ago, they sent me a beautiful card signed by the whole team. They really do care and I would never go anywhere else. Thank You Banfield. Read Less

Great friendly staff who were very sweet & fun with my energetic lab. Pretty busy and had just got new software when I visited that looked great but they were learning the new kinks. I give Dr. LEIGHTINEN five stars for the outstanding care she provided for my dog. I just feel like Dr. Leightinen is very well educated veterinarian. So well educated, it feels like she is two veterinarians in one body!!! Witchcraft! but the good kind!!!! I would recommend Banfield in Maple Grove. However, only if you see this Vet, the other veterinarians don't even come close to being as prodigious as Dr. Leightinen. If she were a famous chef, even Gordon Ramsey would be impressed. I mean, I'd give her 20 stars if I could! I was just so.impressed. I'd also like to mention that her vet tech was very nice as well, she was very smart and she seemed like a strong, independent individual. Animal care is very good, however I believe that they're out for the money and not the well being of the animals. They seem to want to always give your animal shots, which usually aren't covered by the wellness plan. Read Less

This was Banfield's second strike with me - and it's all they will be getting. I made an appointment yesterday for 8:30 today. I went in and they couldn't find an appointment for my cat at any location. I asked if he could quickly be seen, just to confirm a wound on his chin is just that, a wound, and the woman at the desk said I could come back in 3 hours. No, I will not be coming back. If you have not got enough flexibility to fit someone in who made an appointment that didn't make it to your system (for whatever reason that is - incompetent staff?) then I will find service elsewhere.Read Less

I just recently moved and thought I would try Banfield because it is in a convenient location for me. Worst mistake ever. The customer service of the staff is horrible besides the front desk. They are rude and try to belittle you. From how they act it is clear that they do not care about the pets or their owners. They tried to talk me into getting a bunch of services and tests done that weren't needed, and getting all this medication for my cat "just in case this is what he has." Also, the services that I did agree to that I knew were actually needed, were about twice the price of my previous veterinary clinic. Not to mention the exam fees and the "hospital charges," which were also overpriced. They also said I have to come back and do all the same tests in 15 days, then a month, then every three months. No way am I spending a few hundred dollars with them that often. Time to move on to a clinic that has staff who aren't rude and actually care about the well being of their patients rather than trying to sell you everything. Read Less

The care here is fine for routine needs. I use a private vet for more specific care. Their wellness plans cover routine care at a reasonable price; where they make their money, in my opinion, is on the "extras". Staff also changes fairly often, so I feel my pets don't get a level of experience with their vet that I'd like.Read Less

Corporate vet. Do not reccomend.They nickel and dime you for everything, overcharge for routine services, and staff can be rude. The only good things I have to say are that the doctors are nice, and the quality of care is OK (but don't expect more than routine care from Banfield). Read Less

I was very disappointed in banfield.  I felt like i was at a car dealership.  I brought my dog Oakland in who had spent the night at the ER due to vomiting diarreah and loss of balance.First i had to wait 90 minutes when i had an appt.  Part of what i didn't like was they said, "only a little bit longer".    They are obviously way too busy.  I believe the vet was nice but all they do is sell sell sell.  Three RX cost $70 total.  I found 2 of them at Target after I left for $4 a piece.  One that was $4 at Target was $30 at banfield.Then they wanted me to spend $70 for bland dog food for 10 days. .when the ER vet said just to cook rice and chicken.Total bill was $347.  $30 just to see him.  $118 to take care of him for the day. .$90 for the IV fluid.  .$60 in RX. .and $60 for a pancreatitis test.  The good news is now Oakland is fine.  I won't be back though. . .take your business to a vet that cares about your dog not about your checkbook. I've been going to the maple grove site since the one in fridley closed a few years back. The employees here have always been nice to me and they all seem to be comfortable around my pets, even when I've been nervous (which they take into consideration and reassure me). They offer pet insurance. Vets are spendy, but they are doctors for pets. The only thing that really ever irritated me was when they would want to actually see my dog when he got yet another ear infection instead of just giving me the medication, and when the people answering the phone would not tell me how much an xray cost. Love this place. dr barker is the best. she's very loving and makes me feel good when I go in. I always save so much money at banfield and would reccomend them to all pet lovers. And you gotta sign up for the "puppy insurance" aka wellness plan!!! Read Less
