As a first time dog owner, I couldn't be more pleased with finding Kenwood Pet Clinic! At my initial visit with my new pup, Dr. Schulman patiently answered all my overbearing first time dog mom questions with no judgement at all. We've been in several times since due to some digestion issues and he's been great every time. I feel confident that he has my dog and my best interests in mind and never suggests unnecessary costly treatments or tests in an effort to "up sell" a normal visit. I've been taking my cat here for the past year and a half, and the crew here are great. All the techs are helpful and patient with my senior cat-devil. When I made the first appointment, I told the office my cat is a little violent (she used to be worse when she was younger, trust me), so they don't take her temperature when she comes in for annual exams / basic check-ups. That makes life easier for everyone. Dr. Prochaska is awesome. He's an old school vet, and his knowledge and experience are vast. My cat quite strangely and seemingly suddenly developed seasonal allergies and asthma about two months after we moved to Minnesota. It's still a struggle trying to figure out what's going on, as no one really knows for sure what is happening or why, but Dr. Prochaska has given great advice and he's worked with my cat through every test possible as means to rule out any other issues. I took her to an allergist and cardiologist back in our home state to build on Dr. Prochaska's advice and now my devil kitty is on desensitization shots. Crossing fingers it works. For her first shot (which the vaccine was made up by the allergist back in my home state), Dr. Prochaska had me bring in my cat so they could teach me how to give the sub-q injection and watch her after the first shot, as she may have allergic reactions. The vet tech stayed with me after practicing with Dr. Prochaska to keep practicing. My cat wasn't in the mood to be getting injections, so we stayed in the room, trying to get a hold of her for almost 45 minutes. (She was a little shocked by the practice injection Dr. Prochaska gave using saline.) The tech, I wish I remember her name, was very helpful and calming. I'm scared of needles and well, injecting my cat (who isn't), but she helped. My cat is doing well on her injections now, and Dr. Prochaska called me two weeks after the first shot to check in. He's checked in with us before, which is so nice for a vet office to do.I'll keep taking my little devil here for as long as we live here. They also work well with my cat's vets (yes, she has an entourage) back in my home state, of which the other vets work well with Kenwood. Kenwood helps lower the stress I have from my cat's late-in-life illness (which helps me focus on the stress I have from grad school!). Read Less

By far the best experience I've had at a vet. I've moved a lot for my job and it's always tough finding a great vet in a new city, but I stumbled upon Kenwood and Im so glad I did! The staff is kind, and knowledgeable and prices are pretty fair. I really like that it has later hours during the week. I don't work the traditional 8-5 so the variety in hours works out well for my schedule. They are amazing. The service is personal and unlike big commercial places like Banfield at Petsmart, you don't feel like a number. It's the type of clinic you can establish a relationship with and they get to know you're pet. They are friendly, knowledgeable, honest, attentive and asked questions and made sure my dog was comfortable and I was comfortable. Very professional clinic with top notch service. The staff and Dr. Jones and O'Callaghan were so great, friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. I am so pleased I found them for my cat Gracie who is 20 yrs old. I made a last minute appointment call during the holidays and was accommodated right away, and the treatment was so wonderful for Gracie as well. The first time I brought my cat Nuggets here, she needed emergency surgery after having eaten an apron tie. They took such excellent care of her, that we've come back year after year for check-ups. I didn't want to write a review for Kenwood Pet Clinic, since word may get out about how top-notch it is! I owe a debt of gratitude to the staff of Kenwood who helped my family through the very painful process of end-of-life care for our dog. Although the vet had not seen our dog until the day of her final terminal prognosis, she treated us like long-term patients. The vet we worked with genuinely cared about our dog and couldn't have been any more comforting and professional throughout the final exams and last goodbyes. This place is phenomenal. My boyfriend and I brought a traumatized adult cat to live with us, and when taking her to the vet she was so terrified she dirtied her carrier. The people at Kenwood were professional and so very kind, they made us feel like family and even cleaned the carrier for us! It was clear that they care about each and every animal (and their families!) that comes in for care. A week or so after our appointment, we received a handwritten card in the mail welcoming us to the Kenwood family. This is by far the best vet I have gone to in my life. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and really understanding of your individual situation. They have been really honest and straight forward. They don't try to give you unnecessary medicines or vaccinations for your pet. You can also communicate with them through email which is really convenient. I have called in several times about possible issues my puppy was having and if a doctor was not available to talk to me then, they take your phone number and call back as soon as they have time. This has saved me trips to the office when treatment was not needed. My dog gets excited to go to Kenwood. Everything is very clean and they just remodeled their exam rooms. An example of their kindness/understanding: I have a fast growing lab puppy and they offered to exchange his heart guard if he passes the weight limit before the season is over. No need to buy new medicine, just exchange (and possibly pay difference in cost) the heart guard for the 25-50 pound dogs and get the next size up. We decided to choose Kenwood from their easy to navigate website and evening hours - I am so glad we did! I have been able to communicate with Kenwood through email, which is incredibly convenient while I am at work all day and unable to steal away for a phone call. Everyone is super nice, and they give my little fur monster all the attention he needs! Lots of options for appointment times, and they were even able to fit my kitten in for a same day appointment when he wasn't feeling to hot. We brought in our elderly cat to this clinic. Usually our cat is really aggressive and mean to veterinarians but, they had a calming effect on her. They thoroughly explaining the pricing to us and didn't pressure us to do anything or talk down to us. They did a good job with our cat and everyone was happy. I highly recommend Dr. O'Callaghan. The kind, talented doctors and staff have become friends over the years that have shared joy and heartbreak with my family. They make me feel they genuinely care almost as much as I do about my dogs. They support the local rescue scene and offer a free first exam whenever we adopt a new pet. The doctors are easy to reach and responsive to questions. The clinic is freshly remodeled, clean and convenient. I brought my two dogs in for a teeth cleaning as a new customer. They had me come in to have the dogs checked up prior to the cleaning (even though they had recently had a check up at another vet out of state). I had to come back another day to do the cleaning, because they wouldn't do it that day. They did ANOTHER exam and tried to charge me for it when my dogs came in for the teeth cleaning. One of my dogs was so shaken up from the anesthesia that for about 5 days he was depressed, wouldn't eat unless I hand fed him chicken, puking, and crying all day. They didn't tell me when I picked him up that he woke up confused and generally not good, i had to find this out over the phone. This has never happened before... This isn't his first teeth cleaning, but it will be his last with this terrible vet clinic. Read Less

I work the typical 9-5 Monday-Friday job and most pet clinics are not convenient for me or my pet. We've had some issues with allergies since I adopted her and Kenwood staff has been more then helpful. They are always there to assist and treat you like you are the only client they have. I went in on a completely booked night and  Dr. Prochaska stayed after hours to help me and my new puppy with an issue that needed to be addressed that day. I also love the convenience of email and the late night hours during the middle of the week. I used to work for The Animal Wellness Center in Maple Grove and thought nothing could get better, but I was wrong. I love the staff at the clinic and I am so grateful that I found them! Thank you!!! The Kenwood Pet Clinic is the sort of place you stay behind a minute later than you need to just I chat with the extremely friendly staff. Dr. Schulman took care of my cat Fatty when she needed to have some of her teeth taken out. He and every other member of the staff took time to explain everything clearly so we knew what was being recommended and why. They were kind and friendly to every pet there (and they all have stories of rescued pets that they ended up keeping.) Overall, their love of animals and kindness to people really shone through. While I don't have children, I feel like a "proud mama" whenever I bring my cat into Kenwood Pet Clinic. You can tell that the entire staff love their jobs and love working with animals. They are open later some weekdays to accommodate those of us who work longer hours and there is little to no wait to get me in to the examination room once I get there. Kenwood Pet Clinic is fantastic. It can be tough to call to schedule an appointment with work, so I was very impressed when they happily set up an appointment via email. Since I was new, they even offered to call my  old vet to get my dog's medical records.All of the staff are very kind and knowledgeable. From the desk staff to the techs. They are very good about informing you of what is going on and they were very kind to my dog as well.Dr. Jones was my dog's vet. She was very good about examining my dog thoroughly, not just the chief complaint. She then let me know a few different things that could be causing the issue, gave me a few options for taking the next step and was always willing to give her guidance. Unfortunately, in the few months that I have been going to Kenwood, I lost my dog to kidney problems. I first came in to Kenwood due to a potential emergency with my roommates cat.  We were fit in right away and Dr Cohen was fantastic (and our issue ended up being minor).  I later brought in my newly adopted dog and had a great experience with Dr. Prochaska.  He didn't even charge us for the check-up because my dog was a new rescue.  The staff and vets here have all been great so far, even being super helpful with follow up questions over the phone. We've gone to Kenwood Pet clinic for a number of years now after a negative experience at a VMA clinic.  I researched a number of vets and finally narrowed it down to 3 who I called to do a sort of mini-interview.  Kenwood came across as the friendliest and most professional and were a bit less costly than the others.  That was over 5 years ago and we've been very satisfied with our experiences there, even when the outcomes were unavoidably sad.  The care is excellent and the people are wonderful.  They're the perfect mix of professional, capable, and compassionate.  I recommend them whenever I get the chance. Kenwood Pet Clinic is an amazing place.As a first-time pet owner, I am grateful for their level of kindness, service, and understanding. I adopted Bernice as a rescue a few months ago, and we have been in a few times for those expected "discoveries" you make with rescue dogs. We've been fortunate to work with Dr. Cohen, Dr. Prochaska, Dr. Turino, and Dr. J. Schulman (essentially almost the entire clinic staff), and all have been great!Dr. Cohen gave Bernice her initial exam after we adopted her, and he was so gentle and kind with her (even though all the wanted to do was escape!).Dr. Turino was great working with us when Bernice had to get a lump removed. I, of course, was panicking, and he did a great job of giving me a lot of information and reassuring me of what to expect. Dr. Prochaska was nice enough to fit us in on a Saturday to tend to an opened stitch. Today, Dr. J. Schulman was nice enough to fit us in at 8:30 AM (our original appointment for tick removal was not until 2 PM) because of fainting spells this morning that caught me by surprise. They were even nice enough to keep Bernice for the day for observation to see if they can find out more information to help her feel better.Despite these unannounced visits, the reception staff has always been kind and helpful, and the doctors have always been patient and kind - no rushing you out because "you didn't have an appointment." I appreciate that they are willing to give you updates via phone and take the time to go over information when you just don't know.It's clear they care very much for their animal patients and their owners, too!
