We have been taking our dogs to Southdale Pet Hospital since 2000 and they have been extremely helpful and caring towards our pets. Our first dog started exhibiting symptoms related to her kidneys, and we were (properly) advised to take her to the U of M because they would be better equipped to diagnose that particular problem (turned out to be melamine in the high-end dog food I had been buying at a retail store). They didn't try to upsell me on vitamins or that ilk, nor ask me to waste time with guesswork and multiple medications. Because of their honest, that dog lived another 4 years. Our second dog was a rescue that had diabetic issues for the past few years, and I was again honestly informed that diabetic dogs can live anywhere from as few years as one up to 5 or 6 more years. After two years, it was obvious she was having a hard time, and these wonderful people were willing to come to my house to make our dog's passing more personal and meaningful to all of us. In short, these folks are trustworthy and honest, and you would be well served to allow them to take care of your pets.Read Less

These people are amazing. Always great care. Doctor Deb or Doctor Pete will take the best care of your dog or cat. They know what they're doing and will give you the straight dope on what might be wrong with your critter. Regular standard visits for normal shots are easy, but if there's a tricky issue or something serious they'll find a resolution for you and your furry family member. Highly recommended. Read Less

Thank you Dr Deb for recognizing and quickly fixing a thyroid issue w our young black lab Mikey. He had become overweight and slow even though my wife walked him a few miles everyday.
