What a horrible experience! So I could write pages on how unprofessional, incompetent, and poor everything is about this hospital, but I'll just write about my experience briefly.First, we brought my kitten in for booster shots--first time at the hospital. We just thought we would try it since we live only 5 minutes away. Upon bringing my kitten in, they told me that my kitten was not a girl, as we had thought all along, but that he was in fact, a boy. I am aware that this kind of "mix up" is common in young kittens, so it was fine. However, they were not SURE that he was a boy! The tech, Summer, said, "Well, we don't really know if it's a boy or not because I can't feel any testicles and I don't see a penis. So just go with that he's a boy." "GO WITH" that he's a boy??? No. You went to school for this career, you should be able to tell me beyond reasonable doubt that my kitten is either a girl or boy. No questions asked. Dr. Cory was also unsure what he was. Until we brought him in for his second appointment, in which she was rude in saying, "It says on your sheet that you are still confused on whether he's a boy or girl?" I said, "Yes, because you didn't give me a clear answer last time." And she says, "It's a boy, ok?" How incompetent and rude.Next, my fiancé and I were given over 5 estimates from the "techs" for a neuter + declaw surgery for our kitten. These estimates ranged about $100 in price, so we really had no idea what we were going to be paying for the surgeries. Just because of this reason, I was calling around to find another vet to do the surgeries at but because Wolff was the cheapest, we just decided to go with them. After the surgery, they told us explicitly that it is TOTALLY OK if my kitten licks/bites at his paws--which I thought was really strange, so I looked it up online and almost every vet site I went to strongly discouraged any licking or biting at the paws post-declawing. Furthermore, no cone was even mentioned by anyone at Wolff, so we did not receive a cone or anything at all. Next, about a week later, my kitten's paws became really swollen, red, and he wasn't putting pressure on his right paw. So, despite wanting to, I called Wolff and they recommended I bring him in. The tech on the phone first said the exam was going to be $20.00, then upon being corrected while on the phone with me, she said, "oh no, no, it's actually free!" So, I brought my kitten in and purposefully did not bring any credit cards or cash with me because I wanted them to stick by the exam being free. Well after the exam, Dr. Cory "thought" he had an infection (she never explicitly said if he did or not) so she, WITHOUT ASKING ME OR SAYING ANYTHING TO ME, gave him an antibiotic shot. I had no idea what it was nor did she tell me what it was for--nothing. Then, the tech in the room left and came back with a prescription, again, without asking me. Dr. Cory then said that she will cover the antibiotic cost (didn't even know there was a cost, since that wasn't communicated to me?), but I will have to pay for the prescription. WHAT??? They didn't even tell me what was wrong with him, now I am having to PAY for a prescription that wasn't even ok'd by me? Not ok. So, since I didn't bring money with me, I had to run home and get money and come back to pay for the meds. (I wouldn't have gone back but because my kitten's health is of top importance, I had to get the meds). When I went back, I talked with Dr. Cory privately for about 30 minutes about how horrible our experience has been at Wolff. She made me feel horrible by saying things like, "Well our techs tried very hard to accommodate you, you're the one that wanted all these estimates." And "I thought it was very nice of me to pay for the antibiotic AND the tax." Hahahaha what a joke. This was supposed to be free, and if there were to be any problems with my kittens post-surgery, it should be them that should've paid for it, regardless. Aside from my experience, the building of the hospital is EXTREMELY rundown--the walls, furniture, and floors are old and dirty. Also, every time we went, there was cat hair on the table in which my kitten was to be examined/weighed. GROSS! Also, (it gets better) Summer, the tech, wears yoga pants as her "scrubs". So I'm not a vet, but I'm pretty sure you have to wear both the bottom and the top scrub if you are working with patients, animals, or any other kind of organism that embodies toxic fluids. Also, another tech (I don't recall her name) wears scrubs that drag about 3 inches on the ground under her shoes, so there is mud/dirt/snow/grime int he exam rooms, in which all the animals are walking. (No wonder my kitten had an infection post-surgery?)Don't waste your time coming here. I would hate to have anyone else experience what we had to go through! This vet should not be in business.
