I dropped my dog off to be groomed there this morning. I can not even begin to tell you the anger that I feel right now, I feel as if I have been outright robbed and my dog has been traumatized. I was called and quoted a price and we discussed what was going to happen. Then after the fact since they did not do what we discussed, and things did not go as they had expected, they have decided to punish me, after already punishing my dog, by raising my bill $100! I was told my dog was physically restrained by at least 2 members of there staff for an hour and he still has mats on his face along with cuts that were bleeding. I am just so angry and sad. When I first walked in this morning I was pleasantly surprised with the building and the staff seemed extremely nice and helpful, Its what you don' t see that makes this place a nightmare! Read Less

Dr. Nelson is hands down the best vet! I have a new kitten and she was really friendly, took her time, and listen to all of my cat questions. Went through the bill and helped me understand which shots the new kitten needed. The facility is beautiful. Very clean and organize. Thank you!! Read Less

The facility is very clean & the front office staff and Vets are professional. Their groomer although is highly unqualified and neglectful of the dogs. Lastly the management and owners are loyal to their staff but sadly do not extend the same loyalty and fairness to their customers. Therefore if you are looking for a Vet Office that has a good old home town feel and is honest, caring and kind to their customers and has reasonable rates, this is not the Animal Hospital for you. Dr. Wilcox, Dr.Patton, Dr.Jacobson, ALL SUPER Vets!! They ALL are! This is an exceptional clinic that you will find nowhere else. They always find the problem with our pets and treat it right away. We even get evening and weekend calls to check on them! We've been customers since 1997 and remain faithful today because they are that good at what they do. A beautiful vet office. Pretty on the inside. Super nice staff. Doctors have been super with my dog and cats. I have taken all three of my pets and have seen all three doctors. All very professional and thorough. Dr. Patten was so kind and compassionate today as we put one of our beloved kitties to sleep. Our wishes and needs were listened to. She thoughtfully stepped us through the process, shared in our grief, and make it as easy a thing to do as humanly possible. I would highly recommend this top-notch place. Read Less

I brought my 12 year old german shepherd in to be boarded over the weekend for my brother's wedding in May. When I picked her up, she was dragging her back legs and exhausted. When she turned, she would almost fall down. It's now December and she has not fully recovered. She never will... The best answer I could get from her regular vet was that she hurt her back somehow. I brought my foster dog Lena in awhile back because my dog attacked her. Than I brought her back a few more times after that for various reasons. Dr. Wilcox was always her doctor. I am so grateful for the care Lena received. Unfortunately we had to euthanize Lena last week. Dr. Wilcox was so caring to myself and to Lena. Professional, compassionate, respectful, and high quality care. My pugs have had major health issues, and Dr Wilcox, Dr Patton, and Dr Jacobson have been absolutely first-rate. I trust them completely. The only problem I have ever had was when one of my boys was cremated...I received a lovely box with his ashes,  but NO paw print. It broke my heart, especially after I specifically asked if I would receive a paw print and was assured that I would. Seems so small, but it was very difficult. This was NOT the fault of the doctors, though...and I continue to bring my dog to Monticello Pet Hospital because of the high quality of care. Read Less

They diagnosed my dog with lymes, but reassured me if I follow the instructions correctly then he will be fine. They were very kind with my Oscar when doing testing. Although the personnel are friendly, courteous and caring of my dogs, I find myself going elsewhere after having been a customer for 5 years. The reason? Cost. I can't afford to go there anymore. I needed an x-ray to check for leg damage, they did 3. At $100/ea that get's pricey when you add in the exam,and meds prescribed. A year ago my newest puppy broke her leg. After x-rays and putting a splint on it, I had to bring her back weekly for new dressings, a larger splint and more x-rays. It cost me a fortune! I'm sorry, but I can't afford them anymore. We brought our dog here originally just as a second opinion. However after meeting with Dr. Jacobson and his staff we decided this was the clinic we wanted to change to. We have been in three times so far and have always had the best experience with Dr. Jacobson, it is clear he truly cares about animals and has been very honest and upfront with us about the needs of my dog and surgery. We appreciate him being personable with us and being willing to answer all my questions and address my concerns. I would recommend this clinic and Dr. Jacobson to anyone. We have seen several different vets and many different clinics for our dogs issues and this is the first clinic I feel comfortable and confident that my dog is getting the best care. Read Less

Very professional and compassionate, too. I feel very confident that my 11 year old pug, who is disabled and blind, receives the best care right here in Monticello. I recently moved from Minneapolis and was concerned about his care out here, but Dr Wilcox impressed me with her diagnostic ability, up-to-date knowledge, and real concern for my boy's health issues. The techs are great as well. Prices are reasonable and there isn't the "upselling" of procedures or items your pet doesn't really need that I have seen at some other veterinary practices.
