We recently (last week) had to say goodbye to our best friend, Gidget (Chinese Crested). Needless to say, our hearts were shattered, as this was our first time saying goodbye to a pet. Each and every staff member were beyond comforting and supportive during this process. They even sent us a card in the mail a week later to check in on us, show their ongoing support and to remind us of how special Gidget was to everyone who knew her. I’d much rather give New Hope Animal Hospital 5 hearts as opposed to 5 stars. Was told that my dog had to have an exam for the same ear problem she’s had for years and had been seen at this clinic for last may. I was also steered away from a treatment that I know to work from my dogs aleregies. Constantly trying to upsell products and not respecting the fact that I know my dog. I asked if I could get the prescription for what they recommended and order it online and was told that they would not authorize it and I needed to buy it from them if I wanted it. They are very caring towards my Snowball (cat). They give the best of care and are very knowledgeable. The techs are great too. Dr. Herman is easily assessable when needed. Dr Cross is also wonderful. They were very sympathetic in telling us that Snowball is in renal failure. Their treatment plan for Snowball is working giving us extra time with her. Read Less

I took my kitty here for the first time today and it was very pleasant from start to finish. Our vet Dr Nordaune and tech Mike were awesome! They recommended some things for the future without sounding pushy (dental, vaccines, etc) and really had my kitty's well-being as a priority. Dr Cross has been so attentive to my dog Lilly's needs as she is a diabetic and has recently had some complications. She has gone above and beyond! Our family has been comming here for over 13 years. Our dogs have thrived with their care. We board our dogs here also and because of this our dogs have loved coming here. This is where we used to take our dogs. It has always been expensive and although they are good in general I don't like the fact that they are money driven and they 'sell' you things to make money. Vaccination does not require an examination and there is no state regulation that states such thing, but they won't vaccinate your dog without an examination. Clearly to charge you more. Every visit is $200-$300. When I requested evidence of where an examination is required by law, I didn't get any answers and I'm still awaiting for a promised email. We are switching to a different vet that even if is further away, we have had good experiences with it. Read Less

I have gone to New Hope Animal Hospital and Dr. Randy Herman for 33 years. During that time they have seen 18 of my personal dogs (yes, I always had more than one haha) and many of our rescue dogs. This clinic is certified by the American Animal Hospital Association and this means that the facilities and services provided are of the very highest quality. Only a few animal clinics in Minnesota hold this certification. Dr. Randy hires smart, skilled vets to help him in the practice and the techs are excellent. Also the assistants who handle boarding and other duties do a great job and many of both groups have been there for many years. If you are looking for a vet, you won't go wrong with New Hope. Dr. Herman is the BEST! I have gone to him for years. When we moved to Michigan & Chicago, when we go home to Minnesota & we get Blackjack checked out, because Dr. Herman & his entire Staff are so Professional & Compassionate! Nov. we took in a stray as it was freezing with 35mph & this llil kitty would come to our patio & huddle under the chair cushion. I put a blanket on the chair, we took a picture of it & asked the apartment office to e-mail the picture. We then took kitty to a clinic working with an adoption agency & he was neutered, had shots & was checked so his brother wouldn't catch anything! No one had claimed him at the apartment complex, so he is OURS & just precious! He is so glad to be in, loved, warm & fed. Our 13yr old Blackjack is not real happy about a bouncy 7month old very playful brother just YET, but every day gets a bit better. His name is "TRUMPETTE"~"TRUMPSIE" for short! We've always been treated well here, there is minimal wait, and they can usually work us in to be seen within a couple days. All of the doctors we have seen here are very knowledgeable, and are good at calling back a few days later to check up on how our dog is doing. Veterinary care isn't cheap anywhere, but NH animal hospital provides a lot of value for their services. Read Less

Excellent, compassionate care from the front desk to the back room. They helped me make a decision that saved my dog's life a few years ago, and I am forever grateful. They are never pushy with proposed tests or medications, very transparent with estimates.We moved farther away in 2015, but I still insist on taking my dog there the extra few miles. Over Priced and Clueless! My dog had a hot spot so we went to the New Hope Animal Hospital to get treatment. We were seen by two different doctors on 3 separate occasions, each one telling us how to treat the spot in completely different ways! The first vet told us to keep it covered and put ointment on it. Upon further research i did on my own, this was the worst thing you could do for a hot spot, but we did not know that until after we saw a second vet (our third trip to the clinic) who told us not to have it covered and to not put any ointment on it. In total it cost us over 300.00 for the treatment of this hot spot. Each time we came in, they felt it necessary to charge us the 60.00 exam fee which is ludicrous! Don't waste your time or money, go somewhere that will do it right the FIRST time. On a lighter note, the vet tech Willow was fantastic, it's too bad the same can't be said about the Vets. Read Less

Don't waste your time coming to this place. They really seem to have no experience or any idea of what they are doing. They like to do a lot of tests and in doing so they charge a lot of money. When I brought my dog in for a yeast/bacterial infection, the vet ordered a series of tests, and I vetoed about 3 of them (saving myself over $120!) that weren't necessary. I have 10+ years experience in the pet industry so I was aware of what my dog's issues were, and what tests were relevant in determining his medical issues at the time... An unsuspecting pet owner, and I'm sure their usual customers, dish out this amount of money on a regular basis. (Then again, it seems I am always forced to see Dr. Gordon, maybe it's just her?)There's also a woman that sits at the front desk that is incredibly rude (Tina, or Tiffany?), and she just can't be bothered with phone calls or questions. However, all the techs that I've met at this place are all great, and will take the time to answer any questions.(Keep in mind that I've gone to this place with multiple pets stretched over a couple of years time 2006-2013... For some reason I keep going back thinking that something has changed. I'm finally done giving them chances though.) Read Less

As someone in the profession, I have been on occasion , in the position of the ""new trusted"" doctor. I want to say how happy I am that all the diagnostic tests needed to rule out zoonotic and life threatening diseases have been performed.
