On 01/12/2022 I took my baby Scarlette to see this vet. They had diagnosed her with a bladder infection and gave her meds. There was fluid in her stomach at the time and for some reason it was ignored...
On 01/12/2022 I took my baby Scarlette to see this vet. They had diagnosed her with a bladder infection and gave her meds. There was fluid in her stomach at the time and for some reason it was ignored. The vet in her works said “I am not concerned about Lymes disease” when I mentioned it. So we then go to 01/27/2022. On this night, she was taken to the vet because her symptoms were a lot worse. She was filled with fluid, lethargic, and several other things. The vet said she had kidney failure but blamed it on “genetics” as she claimed. We then fast forward to 02/03/2022. I took her to the vet once more at Century Animal Clinic to get a second opinion. They did testing and she tested positive for Lymes disease. So Prior Lake Pet Hospital was 100% wrong. I called Prior Lake Pet Hospital about a week ago and on the phone the owner could never say she 100% had a bladder infection. He kept saying “she could have had a bladder infection”. He was also very heartless on the phone and very rude interrupting my every word. I was only able to ask him questions maybe 3 times total during the entire 30 minute phone call. It is very weird to me that she had Lyme in the very beginning and they completely missed it, misdiagnosing her with a bladder infection. Ultimately, they are to blame for her death. Had it have been caught earlier, she could have lived a little while longer. They have not only caused me financial stress but they have also caused me a large amount of emotional stress, and I already have mental health issues that are progressing because of them not finding this sooner. I paid a total of $901.06 and spent another $170 to put her down because she was too far gone since Prior Lake did not find the diagnosis sooner. As well, it costed us just over $300 to get another opinion from Century that ended up being the correct diagnosis. This review is to just warn everyone about this vet. I got the attorney generals office involved, as well as the BBB. This is purely to let people know my experience, and I’m trying to prevent anyone else’s pet getting put down due to the negligence of this veterinary team. Please be very careful when dealing with these people.

If I were just rating Dr. Albright it would be a strong 5+ stars. He is always cheerful, professional, listens to our concerns and explains things thoroughly. Very trustworthy! You can tell that he just loves dogs and to care for them too! Dr. Albright is an all around great guy, just ask my chocolate lab! Techs are okay too, but I’ve rarely had the same one twice. Front office staff are my only complaint. Rarely smile or make eye contact and not friendly at all. Too bad they weren’t all like Dr. Albright. I will continue to go there as long as Dr. Albright is there. Thanks Doc!

Worst uncaring experience I've ever had from a place that supposably cares about animals. My dog is on food and a subscription from your client from a on going illness diagnosed from your clinic. I called before 10 to let them know my dog was pooping blood and throwing up and need to know if I should feed him and give them the medication YOU subscribed. I was told someone would call be back. I never heard anything and went in after 2 to try to talk to someone. All I wanted to know if I should feed my dog the food and medication YOU subscribed. The blonde and the front desk and Amber were more than rude. Amber refused to answer my question. I asked for a manager and supposably nobody was in charge there. Their is no reason your staff could not answer if I should feed my dog! Absolutely disgusted by this place. You should also get the room that was flooded in water we were left in taken care of.

I have taken all of my poodles to Prior Lake Pet Hospital during the last 45 years and continue to do so. Even though we do not live in the area I still choose to drive to get quality care. Dr. Schwantes has resolved plenty of my poodles issues and a couple of them were quite rare. I have referred several of my friends to him and he has always resolved their issues and they were very pleased! Another reason is that all of the staff and front office employees are very helpful, caring and pleasant. They've never let me down.

Amazing Vet, that's right here in our backyard. PLPH has been great since transferring care. We are visiting from out of state when our Boxer got a tummy ache. Took her to PLPH and they were great. She ended up having to have emergency surgery to remove a blockage, but they kept us informed and we were part of the decision making the whole time. They even made room for her to spend the week there after the surgery because we had travel plans for Christmas. Thank you to all the Dr's and staff. Stormy was lucky you were there to help her get through this!

A place to watch out. They are thieves. Today i revieved a call from them regarding my dog. The dog was found by a good Samaritan and handed over to this vet clinic. I recieved a call from them letting me know they got my dog and i should pick him up with $35.00 finder's fee. When i arrived with $35.00 & my driving licence, after finding out im actually a colored person, they started asking a lot of questions and finally they required my vaccination papers or i have to pay for his vaccine. For sure i can afford owning a dog as a black person......but ignorant people owning rhis business find it hard to believe.

The previous vet did not take us serious and sent us home with no diagnosis and no help. PLPH serves with great integrity and care. They are thorough, sensitive, professional and have the best interest of your fur babies in mind! We will be patients for years to come! What a blessing to have such a wonderful place close by.

We had our first Visit yesterday and I can not say enough about it! Sheldon (our Berner) is not a fan of going to the vet so it tends to be stressful. Not this time! Everybody was so wonderful. We had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Albright. Sheldon usually is not a fan of men he's never met but took to Dr. Albright almost immediately. This was the first vet appointment that my boy (who isn't mean) hasn't had to be muzzled. They took it slow and made sure Sheldon was comfortable! If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! Thank you all so much!

I have finally had the last straw with this clinic after being a client there for over 10 years. They are extremely inflexible and are booked so tightly that if you would like to see a doctor on a same day basis, during office hours, they charge an additional $100 for the "inconvenience' for them. I find this unacceptable--I certainly don't get treated like that by my human doctors and dentists. The front office staff are consistently unwelcoming, unfriendly, and often rude. I'm certainly not going to pay the kind of money this place likes to charge with that kind of lack of customer service. Because I've been taking my dog and cat there for so many years, I've just put up with things. No more -- moving on to a vet clinic that values it's customers and patients.

This weekend my dog got into something and started throwing up and shaking so bad. I took him into Prior Lake Pet Hospital and received some of the best service I have ever had. Dr. Sarah Clements and the staff were awesome. My dog has a tendency to be scared at vet clinics and at times does not like other people. But they made him feel so much at home that when we came to him up he came out with his tail wagging! I think he loved the attention he was getting from the ladies. He was the most relaxed I have seen him in another place. Thank you so much for helping Andy!

I want to start off with stating how I am wondering how many other pet owners have had to choose to put their pets down because they couldn't afford expensive surgery this clinic insisted their pet NEEDED. After almost a week of the vet insisting my cat had an obstruction in his stomach and after almost a week of me insisting the pet in question was NOT the type of cat to eat things like string or cloth they made me feel I had no choice but to either do surgery at the cost of $2000 or put our pet down. I almost put him down. $2000 is a lot of money to come up with all at once. We bit the costs and chose to do it. Now...the one thing the vet never showed me was a letter they recieved from a consulting radiologist. In this letter it pretty much stated it could be one of 3 things. One of which was a simple stomach bug. All those conversations I had with the good Dr and not ONCE was that suggested to me as a cause. In fact the owner of the clinic called me and stated that the invasive exploratory surgery was a common diagnosis tool. Guess a course of antibiotics was the more dangerous ways we could have dealt with this? So...5 days later, poor boy has stiches all the way down his stomach, needs to be monitored closely for infection or any other problems that comes from opening him up and he's on antibotics. Oh...and a bill of over $1600 to the clinic. And I was the bad pet owner...a dangerous thing is a doctor who believes they are so right that they won't see the other possibilities! I would not bring my pets here for care ever again. I truely wish at the time I could have brought him to my regular vet

Best vets in Prior Lake! I'm a former vet tech and can tell you this place is great! Clean, beautiful clinic that I can tell you is just as great in the lobby as it is behind closed doors. What you see is exactly what your getting here. Every exam room is spotless and clean which is huge when you have pets coming and going all day! Not to mention I see the same staff every time I'm in there- happy staff means happy pets. The doctors here are wonderful, friendly and it's obvious how much they love pets. Also they have urgent care hours which is super handy. Love this place and I recommend it to everyone!

Their is no reason your staff could not answer if I should feed my dog! Absolutely disgusted by this place. You should also get the room that was flooded in water we were left in taken care of.

They were awesome! Urgent care was open when others closed. Spent nearly an hour taking his history and going through detailed solutions and options. Very thorough. Definitely would reccomend!

I have taken all of my poodles to Prior Lake Pet Hospital during the last 45 years and continue to do so. Even though we do not live in the area I still choose to drive to get quality care. Dr. Schwantes has resolved plenty of my poodles issues and a couple of them were quite rare. I have referred several of my friends to him and he has always resolved their issues and they were very pleased! Another reason is that all of the staff and front office employees are very helpful, caring and pleasant. They've never let me down.

We are visiting from out of state when our Boxer got a tummy ache. Took her to PLPH and they were great. She ended up having to have emergency surgery to remove a blockage, but they kept us informed and we were part of the decision making the whole time. They even made room for her to spend the week there after the surgery because we had travel plans for Christmas. Thank you to all the Dr's and staff. Stormy was lucky you were there to help her get through this!

A place to watch out. They are thieves. Today i revieved a call from them regarding my dog. The dog was found by a good Samaritan and handed over to this vet clinic. I recieved a call from them letting me know they got my dog and i should pick him up with $35.00 finder's fee. When i arrived with $35.00 & my driving licence, after finding out im actually a colored person, they started asking a lot of questions and finally they required my vaccination papers or i have to pay for his vaccine. For sure i can afford owning a dog as a black person......but ignorant people owning rhis business find it hard to believe.

PLPH truly does provide premium care! We had taken our 4 month old puppy to a previous vet and had a horrible experience. The previous vet did not take us serious and sent us home with no diagnosis and no help. PLPH serves with great integrity and care. They are thorough, sensitive, professional and have the best interest of your fur babies in mind! We will be patients for years to come! What a blessing to have such a wonderful place close by.

We had our first Visit yesterday and I can not say enough about it! Sheldon (our Berner) is not a fan of going to the vet so it tends to be stressful. Not this time! Everybody was so wonderful. We had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Albright. Sheldon usually is not a fan of men he's never met but took to Dr. Albright almost immediately. This was the first vet appointment that my boy (who isn't mean) hasn't had to be muzzled. They took it slow and made sure Sheldon was comfortable! If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! Thank you all so much!

I have finally had the last straw with this clinic after being a client there for over 10 years. They are extremely inflexible and are booked so tightly that if you would like to see a doctor on a same day basis, during office hours, they charge an additional $100 for the "inconvenience' for them. I find this unacceptable--I certainly don't get treated like that by my human doctors and dentists. The front office staff are consistently unwelcoming, unfriendly, and often rude. I'm certainly not going to pay the kind of money this place likes to charge with that kind of lack of customer service. Because I've been taking my dog and cat there for so many years, I've just put up with things. No more -- moving on to a vet clinic that values it's customers and patients.

This weekend my dog got into something and started throwing up and shaking so bad. I took him into Prior Lake Pet Hospital and received some of the best service I have ever had. Dr. Sarah Clements and the staff were awesome. My dog has a tendency to be scared at vet clinics and at times does not like other people. But they made him feel so much at home that when we came to him up he came out with his tail wagging! I think he loved the attention he was getting from the ladies. He was the most relaxed I have seen him in another place. Thank you so much for helping Andy!

I want to start off with stating how I am wondering how many other pet owners have had to choose to put their pets down because they couldn't afford expensive surgery this clinic insisted their pet NEEDED. After almost a week of the vet insisting my cat had an obstruction in his stomach and after almost a week of me insisting the pet in question was NOT the type of cat to eat things like string or cloth they made me feel I had no choice but to either do surgery at the cost of $2000 or put our pet down. I almost put him down. $2000 is a lot of money to come up with all at once. We bit the costs and chose to do it. Now...the one thing the vet never showed me was a letter they recieved from a consulting radiologist. In this letter it pretty much stated it could be one of 3 things. One of which was a simple stomach bug. All those conversations I had with the good Dr and not ONCE was that suggested to me as a cause. In fact the owner of the clinic called me and stated that the invasive exploratory surgery was a common diagnosis tool. Guess a course of antibiotics was the more dangerous ways we could have dealt with this? So...5 days later, poor boy has stiches all the way down his stomach, needs to be monitored closely for infection or any other problems that comes from opening him up and he's on antibotics. Oh...and a bill of over $1600 to the clinic. And I was the bad pet owner...a dangerous thing is a doctor who believes they are so right that they won't see the other possibilities! I would not bring my pets here for care ever again. I truely wish at the time I could have brought him to my regular vet

Best vets in Prior Lake! I'm a former vet tech and can tell you this place is great! Clean, beautiful clinic that I can tell you is just as great in the lobby as it is behind closed doors. What you see is exactly what your getting here. Every exam room is spotless and clean which is huge when you have pets coming and going all day! Not to mention I see the same staff every time I'm in there- happy staff means happy pets. The doctors here are wonderful, friendly and it's obvious how much they love pets. Also they have urgent care hours which is super handy. Love this place and I recommend it to everyone!
