Took my cat here a few months ago, he had a weird hairless patch on his skin that was kindof cruddy, looked like it could have been fleas or dermatitis or something. I figured a vet could just take a quick look and tell me what was up. My regular vet was booked for a while, so I used the new customer coupon to drop in at Banfield. Upon arrival, I was grumbled at for not making an appointment (isn't taking walk-ins part of their shtick?), the vet tech & vet were nice, but spent the majority of the time hassling me about my cat's weight, (he's plumpy but not giant and I'm working on it). Then they left the room while I had to watch a video about getting a banfield membership or something. Is this place all the sudden a lifetime fitness too? wth? Was then hassled for a long time regarding buying the membership, then presented with a $350 care plan. Apparently a vet at banfield can't tell you if your cat has fleas or not, they just need to treat for EVERY possible scenario that could be causing this mysterious condition. I kid you not, this was their solution. In addition, we apparently needed to do some very expensive and painful lab test to determine what kind of mite may or may not be in his skin,(though all the while treating him for fleas, allergies and dermatitis without actually knowing what his issue is). I said this is ridiculous and left. In my opinion this place is a big money suck and they either don't know what they're doing or just want to prey on people's stupidity and make them think their animal really needs all this crap. SOOO, I made an appointment with my usual vet, Dr.Pomeroy, he looked at my cat's skin, said it's an allergy and it should pass after summer. Bam done. easy as that. And now, behold, my cat is fine, no $350 treatment & tests needed. Read Less
