The customer service over the phone and in person was great, the procedure was peaceful and heartfelt, and they made sure to give me the time I needed with my buddy before the end. Vets are nice. However, their change in policy on prescription cat food has cost them my business. They must be very concerned about me selling prescription cat food on the black market. The urinary SO formula they told me my cat needs and has prescribed for 6 years all of a sudden takes an annual checkup before they will keep selling it to me to keep my cat alive. I understand that they need to profit, but I paid them 50% more than the same food sold for online for years and now they want more. I'm disgusted that I went out of my way to support this local business this long. My cat has cancer and I fail to see why I should drag my poor buddy down and let him be poked instead of living out the last days in his life in his comfy routine. Shameful. Read Less

Yesterday was a hard day for our family. We had to put our best friend and beloved dog down. I cannot say enough about Dr. Wheeler and the staff at Companion Animal Hospital. They were so compassionate, knowledgeable, caring and understanding. Dr. Wheeler explained all options we had and most importantly, gave us her honest opinion, as if it were her dog in this situation. As hard as yesterday was, I know that our dog had the best care she could have possibly received and I know that Companion did everything they could for our dog, above and beyond. Our dog has been going to Companion since a puppy and to them, it seemed like they lost one of their own yesterday right along with us. Thank you Dr. Wheeler and staff for you compassion! Excellent, compassionate service. You can tell the vets really care about your pets. I have taken my bunny and until recently my guinea pig who I had to put to sleep, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I'm sure my piggy felt loved and cared for in her last moments. Read Less

This is the best vet around. I love Deb. She spent an hour in the room with my dog and I for his first puppy visit and was very attentive to all of my questions. She also seemed to actually enjoy seeing Reggie and played with him during the visit. The other vets I have seen here also did a great job. Love this place! Read Less

I have been going to companion for a very long time (over ten years). And I will not go anywhere else! Even when I moved back to NYC I planned my vacations around my babies vaccinations needs and would come to Minnesota. Now I live in Minneapolis and still drive to Eagan to take her here! I had my first experience with Companion about 10+ yrs ago when I got by beloved dog, she is the world to me and the folks at Companion treat her as if she is the world to them as well. Annie at the front desk is so amazing. I have even moved back to NYC and planned some time off to have my dog see only the vets at Companion. Moved to eagan recently and needed a closer vet for cat. Great staff- we arrived 10min early and had no wait time to be seen. Receptionist/tech were super friendly. Vet answered all our questions. I was never pressured to get any "extra" tests/ vaccinations/ etc. Cost was WELL below expected and bill was explained in detail. Glad we choose them to be our new provider! Read Less

Just got two new kitties. I looked for a vet clinic close to my job, and found Companion Animal Hospital. I am so satisfied with the service. I have been there two times so far (once with each new cat), and both times they really took the time to talk to me and explain the conditions and medications. Had very good experiences with a number of staff both vets and techs.  Helped to cure my dog's mange, while making sure to minimize the chance if neurological issues that are possible with treatment of demodex.  My Odin was a rescue and was very apprehensive around people and especially other animals.  Companion staff has always been very patient and tenacious in helping him to feel comfortable. We have been taking our dog and cat to Companion Animal Hospital for about a year for both veterinary care and boarding.  We have been very pleased with all their services.  This is the only kennel our dog has eaten at while being boarded.  The staff is very attentive and the vets keep costs in mind when suggesting treatments and tests.  They do not take the Discover credit card.  That is my only issue with them.I highly recommend this vet and kennel. We have been going to the Companion Animal Hopsital since '93. The doctors are fantastically tuned in to the owners and the pets. A few years ago, one of our cats, Mimi, was terminally ill, so we were in the hospital repeatedly. In one of the visits, the doctor picked up Mimi and kissed her, before bringing her back to the tx area for shots. The staff are as nice as you could possibly find, and thoroughly professional. So far, I really like the care my kitten has received! The staff (even the techs) seem super knowledgeable and are very friendly. On my initial visit, I noticed that a few of the animals in the waiting room were greeted by name and they were so excited to see the tech. They gave me a ton of information in a welcome packet, which was unexpected. I honestly thought they wanted to keep my kitten permanently, the way the two gals gushed over him! They seemed to try to be as convenient as possible and be accommodating your schedule. I was surprised to get a thank you letter, which was nice. Check my email a few days later, and I got a reminder of when my kitten's next set of shots should be scheduled. And, they have a very helpful Web site too. Read Less
