The staff here is caring, clearly loves working with animals, and I like that they don't rush my appointments - they always take the time to make sure they've answered any questions I have and listen to my concerns. I've taken my dog and cat to midway for 5 years. The staff are great and genuinely care for my pets. Our dog came down with an intestinal issue and was vomiting repeatedly. I have been bringing my animals to this vet for years. Dr. Nolte is a great vet - as is her husband. They are both very knowledgeable and very practical. The staff has changed over the years but they are consistently good people. I have ZERO doubts that my pets are not in great care while they are there. I trust them completely. I think that price-wise they are a little cheaper than some of the bigger clinics, but not by a lot. I have a very happy and healthy Labrador and a cat too. When my previous cat had to be put down, they were very compassionate. My wife and I were devastated. They even made a small donation in my cat's name as a gesture of sympathy. I thought that was a really touching move, and that is why they continue to get my business.Read Less

I love this place.  It's not in the easiest to get to location, since I live in Northeast, but i can't tell you how much i appreciate the quality of service and attention we get from the vets and the staff.  they're great with reminder calls and follow-ups to make sure things are going well.  If we have a question, i can always call them up and get an answer, even on something that we haven't brought our cats in for.  They provide a complete spectrum of services, including cat dental cleanings (which are quite an ordeal) at very reasonable prices.  It's not the shiniest, or fanciest place you can go, but when it comes to caring about animals, they've got their hearts in the right place. Our experience at the clinic is that it has been competent but they fell short of being there for us when we needed thorough information and solutions during times of crisis (when our old cat suffered a stroke and when our dog showed changes in disposition). We appreciate the friendliness but we put a higher value on professional advice and helpful resources in situations that are beyond maintenance. Read Less

We took our cat in for a check up and dental cleaning/tooth removal and are quite pleased with the service we received.  Throughout these visits we always got the impression that the vets and staff truly cared about our cat.  After the procedure they called to see how he was doing.  We said we were having trouble getting him to take the pain meds and that he wasn't acting himself.  They told us to take him in and gave him some fluids, his meds and checked him out free of charge.  Our cat is now doing great.  As far as costs go, they probably aren't the cheapest but aren't the most expensive either.  The only thing I'd criticize is that no one told us we couldn't feed him the day before, so we had to come back another time for the cleaning. I cannot say enough good things about this Vet. The staff is warm, friendly and down to earth. They are also very professional and, in the case of my pup, picked up on important complications other vets had missed. While I was in the waiting room,one of the vets was excitedly telling me about how she removed a giant tumor from a dog the past week and it had just come in with no complications, happy as can be.  It is extremely rare to see somebody so passionate about what they do. I was new to the area and was looking for a vet in the neighborhood for my dog Eva, who was 14 years old at that time. I chose this clinic for very unrelated reasons: it was close to the tea house I liked, and I could see an interesting tree-shaped cat-perch by the door. Strange reasoning, especially since I wasn't even a cat person at the time! Eva's health was failing and all through that year we had a couple of emergency visits which were gracefully arranged for us by the staff at the clinic even when it meant staying afterhours. During Eva's last week, doctor Kelly and the whole staff showed their support and sympathy and never once did we feel any trace of impatience although we were actually wasting dr Kelly's time by just sitting numbly in his office for almost an hour, unable to decide on what to do. There were two such visits that week and I will be forever grateful for dr Kelly's understanding and empathy. This vet gives you great professional advice and does not try to push you into making any decisions. We have 2 cats now and (yes, we gave in!) eventually a new dog joined our family. All there were neutered and vaccinated at this clinic. Kudos to dr Kelly, doctor Nolte and their staff. Read Less

Recently we were faced with an emergency surgery for our Labrador. A stiff abdomen followed by an x-ray confirmed 2 huge tumors. Large enough to give Dr Nolte pause as she delivered the news. The prognosis was grim. An ultrasound confirmed the tumors were on the speen... and although my lucky lab was 11, he had a strong heart and might just pull through a spenectomy. Risk's? The tumors could have infiltrated other organs and he would have to be euthanized. Dr Nolte and Dr Kelley, with full staff on hand, shut down for an afternoon to give Buster a chance. 11 pounds of bloody mass were removed with his spleen. They brought their own dog in to give platelets in case a transfusion was necessary. Following surgery, Dr Kelley spent the night with Buster to make sure he didn't have any complications. The next day, Buster came home with detailed instructions, the vet's cell phone number in case we had any concerns, and a new lease on life. I fully believe that the skill and special attention Buster received was paramount to surgical success. I have been a regular at this clinic and never needed such acute care before. This past experience has only solidified my recommendation that you use this clinic for your animals. You won't be disappointed. Read Less

A very nice vet clinic among the best in town. I like that they are really focussed on the well being of the animal and never feel pushed towards a treatment path. Many vets make me feel like they are just waiting for me to finish talking so they can get to the exam, but Midway isnt like that--they listen very carefully and that can be a very helpful approach considering that pets often hide pain during exams or, in the case of my dog's epilepsy--don't show helpful symptoms in the exam room. In short they make me feel like a partner in the care of my dog and cat--respectful and involved. Read Less
