These people bent over backwards helping me and my cat the first time they met me. They didn't know me or have any reason to help me other than the fact that they are good people. We have been loyal customers ever since, and even though staff has changed slightly over the years, the warm, caring, and professional attitude has not! We have been bringing both of our dogs here for quite some time. For the most part, we've gotten really good service. The techs and vets really care for the dogs. However, after 5 years, we just realized they have completely missed giving bordatella vaccine to one of my dogs... kind of crazy. They were very apologetic and had no explanation. Excellent clinic and amazing staff that truly care about each and every animal. My 1st experience was a little different than most. I do not currently go to this clinic, but do have an appt set up now for my animals after the impressive care for strays they have provided. I first brought in a rooster that was wandering around Battle creek. Instead of turning me away, they took this rooster in and provided the care he needed and a home for him. The next experience, my kids found a kitten in the rain garden behind the Wendys sign on Suburban Ave. We immediately thought to take the kitten to Scenic hills because of how friendly they were to the Rooster. This kitten had major medical issues they found, that consisted of 2 broken legs, a bot fly larvae in its neck, and bladder issues. They went above and beyond to save this kitten and let my kids and I come back many many times to come visit and check how he was doing. They never once mentioned how expensive (which im sure it was/is) to take care of this kitten. They brought us in the back and kept us informed on everything and never had anything negative to say about us bringing in stray animals.He is now living happily with the vet and comes to work with her. I have been coming here for about 5 years now, as long as I've had my oldest dog. They have always been great with him even though he's not exactly friendly with strangers. He suffers from seizures and at one point, they even saved his life. We were living paycheck to paycheck at the time and he suffered a looping seizure (basically wasn't recovering before he'd had another seizure). They agreed to see him even though we couldn't pay them for a few days and treated him. The fact that they were willing to do that won my forever patronage, even though I now live in Rosemount. The vet has changed since then but they've always treated my animals exactly the same....wonderfully. Thanks for everything!Read Less

For my husband and I, our pug is our child (yes, we're those pet owners). When we moved to St Paul, I chose this vet mostly due to proximity (this was before online reviews were so abundant). He's a rescue, so he's super sensitive to new people, to his paws being handled, and just a little skittish in general. Over the years, we've luckily only needed to come here for shots. They're a little rough with him, and I can sense their exasperation when he won't relax or freaks out when he has to be on the table. I brought my pup jack in on Saturday for ear hematoma. They squeezed us in and told me we would have to wait a bit to be seen, I got to talking to the front desk gal and the time flew by. She told me about this awesome points system they now have that gets you free things ( everybody check it out) We got to the room and when Dr Mary (first time seeing her) came in to look at jack she sat right on the ground with him and told me about the procedure and said we will take good care of him and they did!!! There treated Jack like their own. The aids did so good at cleaning him up and sending me home with all the info I needed to care for him. Thank you all so much!! We just had the greatest experience at Scenic Hills Animal Hospital. We took our 70 lb foster dog in who had terribly infected ears, he had to be sedated to get them clean because they were so uncomfortable he wouldn't let anyone near them to clean them. I honestly chose to visit this vet's office because it was not far from where I live on the east side of St. Paul, but I have to say that I was thrilled with my cat's first appointment today.One of the things I loved the most was that they quoted me prices for everything before the vet came in to do the examination.  How many times have you gone to the vet and only found out prices as you check out?  Not here; everything is discussed beforehand so that you can make fully informed decisions.  I even heard a discussion in the lobby between a vet and a client where the vet said, "I don't want you to spend your money if you don't have to."  How many vets are that honest!?I am happy that I found Scenic Hills Animal Hospital and I would happily recommend it to anyone.  They even have a separate waiting area for dogs and cats; how cool is that? Her dog had been in once for his annual visit which included the typical blood work. I called to cancel the policy and discovered his one visit was $400. They explained without the pet insurance, she loses the discount. In comparison, my vet (which I also believe is pricey) charges about $500 for my two dogs, one of which is geriatric, for their annual visit. This vet totally takes advantage of pet owners. Very nice people here.  I appreciate that they have separate waiting areas for dogs and cats.  They don't get pushy about getting you to buy services you can't afford.    They sometimes e-mail me specials in cheaper appts when they are not booked up, which is nice for those of us who live in a zoo.  :-) Read Less

Not a good place.When the two current vets took over in 2012 the place really went downhill.My dog was diagnosed with Diabetes a week after they said "nothing was wrong" with him. He'd been in three times for QAR symptoms (for non veterinary workers that's Quiet, Alert and Responsive) and general pain. They said he was in perfect health. Four days later we had to put the dog down.They had no compassion and one of the vets even refused to properly exam my dog because he was growling. WITH A MUZZLE ON. Don't take your animal here. Everyone was really nice. They were careful to use only the treats that I brought for my dog. They were very gentle with getting a temperature and drawing blood.  The price seems reasonable for everything that they did.  We really liked Dr. Kramer. It's nice to have female vet because my dog can be scared of men.  They had obtained all my dog's records from his last vet before I  arrived.  They also use Pet Portal so you can access your pet's records any time online.  Great experience. Going to Scenic Hills Animal Hospital was a wonderful experience for both my family and pet! The front desk staff has a wonderful attitude and is happy to be of service with my pet. They clearly had a plan of attack for my dog and explained it to us so that we could understand. The Clinic is very clean and decorated for animal friendliness. Dr. Beaudoin was amazing with our pet, who had been shell shocked by a horrible meeting the previous day at another clinic that I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Dr. Beaudoin, has a peppy personality and immediately connected with our Puggle, Baron. Baron was a bit standoffish and immediately warmed up to her ooos and awes! She is a Cornell Grad and is now working on her PHD at the UofM in infectious diseases! Smart and a great personality. She examined our dog and told us what we needed. We were in and out in about 45 minutes total and felt comfortable our puppy was in great hands and we set up a follow up appointment. Scenic Hills maintains the highest level of service and we were very impressed. I would suggest them to everyone who cares about their pet and who wants the highest level of professional service!
