Brought my newly adopted pit mix to this place and it was the strangest animal related experience of my life. The vet assistant greeted us and paid no attention to our dog and left the room to get the vet. The vet came in and the both of them went to take our dog's temperature and held him down on the ground and the vet tech has both her arms wrapped around his neck (our dog was abused, so this technique isn't right for him) He struggled to get away from them and used his mouth to do so (gently and only did so AFTER he made it clear that he was uncomfortable and scared) and the vet tech assumed he was trying to bite and be aggressive. They muzzled our dog and it ended up he could lay on the ground and take the temperature with one hand on his back and no other force needed. As the vet was checking his eyes, ears and teeth, our dog gave him a kiss on the face and the vet jerked away from him and wiped his face in disgust. Is this the first time you've been around a dog? It was so awkward and I felt like my dog was judged by his breed and didn't receive the level of care that he should have.
On the other hand, a few years ago we had our 18 year old dog put to sleep here. That experience was as good as it could have been and that vet was very kind and knowlegdable.

Been taking our dogs to Feist for over 20 years (really 50 years as I went there with my parents- I am 54)- pets received professional quality care from kind vets and staff, hand written sympathy cards when our first dog Rosie died and got us through more than one emergency visit with our second dog Julep. They always call day after visit to check-in to see how our dog is. Thank you Feist for over 100 years of animal health care!

The staff at Feist Animal Hospital is very kind and friendly and they're very knowledgeable and good with animals especially dogs and cats I've been bringing my cats there for years and they're very good with the animals they really know what their doing when it comes to dogs and cats and they'll take good care of your animals your loved ones the Vets at Feist really know their stuff I highly recommend them it's a great Animal Hospital. You will leave happy and your friends will be wagging their tails and purring all the way home

I took my cat in because he was urinating outside his cat box. $200 later, we were told this was a behavioral problem and he didn't have a UTI, no other information was given. Fast forward about 6 weeks, I had to take my cat to the emergency vet hospital to get a catheter placed and treatments. He had struvite crystals in his bladder, which blocked his ureter, and his kidney function was compromised. This is very dangerous and cats could die if left untreated for even more than a day or so. The staff at Feist made no mention of this as a possibility, which I now understand from info given from the current vet hospital in very common, especially in male cats. If I had been warned that this could be a possibility, and that there are foods that can be given to prevent/reduce this risk, this could have been avoided or at least been less traumatic. I am so disgusted with Feist, the information they gave me actually harmed my cat, as I was reluctant to bring him in again and waste so much money to be told that it is a "behavioral" problem. Because of this, I probably waited longer to bring him in for treatment than I would have if I hadn't take him to Feist at the start of these problems. Treatment for this will probably cost over $2000, as well as putting my cat through pain, trauma and risking his health. I would strongly warn anyone to stay away from Feist.

I've been in there twice and both times the vets seemed to be more salesperson than physician. I came in for a non life threatening problem recently. The effort put into finding the cause of said problem and fixing it was lacking... or maybe more precisely, it was treated as nbd. I didn't appreciate that.

I adopted a kitty from AHS and took it in for a complementary exam to another vet first. Wasn't pleased with the quality of service there (for something worth $40-$60 bucks, they did a quick 5min chec...
I adopted a kitty from AHS and took it in for a complementary exam to another vet first. Wasn't pleased with the quality of service there (for something worth $40-$60 bucks, they did a quick 5min check and didn't even properly check the temperature, etc.)
So I brought her here and they did a better, thorough check up the first time around. Came back again for vaccine and exam, and exam was like my first experience - short and a quick check of lungs and weight.
In short: good quality but routine check ups (lungs, heart, and weight check) are expensive and not worth it if you don't have pet insurance or if you think something serious isnt going on.

The staff at Feist Animal Hospital is very kind and friendly and they're very knowledgeable and good with animals especially dogs and cats I've been bringing my cats there for years and they're very good with the animals they really know what their doing when it comes to dogs and cats and they'll take good care of your animals your loved ones the Vets at Feist really know their stuff I highly recommend them it's a great Animal Hospital. I've been in there twice and both times the vets seemed to be more salesperson than physician. I came in for a non life threatening problem recently.
